Treasure Hunt has been one of my favorite decks for a while, cool to see a new win con for the deck. Might need to try this out.
@LordZurkov2 жыл бұрын
I've seen a hilarious one that directly wins with just lands. It's 3 treasure hunts, a Jadzi, and 76 utility lands. Basically you chain treasure hunts to shovel your entire deck into your hands without discarding due to reliquary tower, put 50something lands onto the battlefield and gain like 20 life, and stabilize by playing Jadzi and Yorion. When you untap, you wipe out all their lands with slumbermounds and memorials; empty their board with blast zone, frostpyre, elderhall, deadlands, etc; then beat them to death once their board is devoid of permanents. Crawling barrens can very quickly translate all that extra mana into lethal. You can also pop in a Maze's End, because it's worth running some number of gates (especially simic) for the fixing and colossal lifegain from Plaza of Harmony.

I still have my paper Worldwake-era version of this deck, running Treasure Hunt into Seismic Assault. This one's way faster and more consistent, for two reasons: as others have pointed out, the London Mulligan is a godsend for decks that need to start with a specific card in hand. But also, the Seismic Assault version requires you to have the Assault in play before playing Treasure Hunt, or at least to play it the same turn (which would mean, with no ramping, no earlier than turn 5). If you have to end the turn before you discard your lands to SA, you won't have enough lands in hand next turn to pitch for lethal.

I had somebody play this sort of thing against me yesterday! Except they used an enchantment that let them discard 2 cards to make a 2/2 zombie or something. UNFORTUNATELY for them, they hit ALL 4 treasure hunts, and then the LAST CARD they drew was the enchantment. It was literally on the very bottom of their library. If they had mulliganed just ONCE they would have won. But they drew from an empty library on their next draw step and lost.

@Steamer-fp1nl2 жыл бұрын
@@jakebswenka I genuinely forgot the command zone was a thing to be honest. I have no idea why. You can Treasure Hunt into the blink card but then you can’t have the burn creature as the commander because blue card in a red/green deck. And blue and red have almost no blink effects. I don’t really see how child can help with this besides giving access to all 5 colors. And sure you could have utility lands, and then use them to find whichever of the two you don’t have, either the Rioter burn creature or the blink effect card of your choice (somehow) or have a commander in blue/green/red to find the blink card or burn creature. This isn’t the way to go. I think Zombie Infestation with Zur the Enchanter is a WAY better option. Turn 4 Zur, turn 5 attack to find Infestation then play Treasure Hunt. All you have to do it put a random other card into your deck so you don’t deck yourself and hope that it’s towards the bottom of your deck so you hit enough cards to create enough zombies to kill at least ONE person. Just mulligan until you get treasure hunt in hand and wait for turn 4 and pray that you don’t accidentally draw your anti-decking card. Better yet, have your anti-decking card shuffle itself into your library, for example, elixir or immortality. 3 mana “oops put it back” and gain 5 life because idk wotc wanted janky combos like this to be slightly better by a whole 5 life. And then if the combo fails because unlucky card placement, you can take a hit of copium from the elixir of immortality and pray you just naturally draw treasure hunt again using your lands and your defending army of zombies before you get beat to death or anyone removes your infestation. And then if your infestation is removed you pray you’ll hit immortality again to have Zur tutor it again. And pray nobody even speaks about Leyline of singularity, engineered explosives, or elish norn. And then you almost guaranteed win turn 6! Ripe for the board wipe! But you could probably slap a haste giving enchantment into the deck to tutor for with zur so that unless somebody has instant speed removal, you can throw down the zombos and attack on the same turn.
