Can we take a moment to acknowledge how polite Vince is? Several times Tom was talked over and Vince asked him to say his thought again. It's easy to get lost in a group conversation and it's always nice when someone makes a little extra effort to make someone else heard.

I get that, and while they are technically mono red, however in Commander you are still picking a Commander to allow you to play the hybrid cards and that card isn't mono color.

@@jasonkorf7700 Ramos is not technically a red card, but the deck didn't contain any sources of non-red mana so his 5-color ability was unusable. Personally I would have picked Reaper King as my "technically mono red" commander.

What would your guys' thoughts be on some theme suggestions? Pick a dual coloured commander, and then build your deck to be an archetype that never gets played with those colours. E.G Golgari tokens, Izzet reanimator. Also, an Against the Odds week, where you make a list of 'you win the game cards' that are possible to pull off in commander, and each person randomises 3 of them to build around, without the other players knowing who's doing what. Although probably remove Lab Maniac from that list because everyone's seen lab maniac a million times

I run approach of the second sun in my Varina deck. Its so easy to get it back quickly since you can draw when you attack with your zombies.

Not impossible since Red has Feldon of the Third Path & Search for Survivors, while Blue has Back from the Brink. Both have a Eternalize creature in Earthshaker Khenra & Champion of Wits, plus Blue has some embalm creatures. There's artifacts like Triassic Egg, God-Pharoh's Gift, and Grimoire of the Dead. However, the deck may not be good or capable of making an explosive play.

I havent seen anyone else mention it, but Ogre Battledriver and Pandemonium doesn't work like they thought it would. They both trigger, but because ActivePlayer-NonActivePlayer triggering Battledriver would always resolve after the damage was dealt

Yo Vince just play mld or stax every week. Every week you get attacked for mild synergy. And then tomer wins. Either play infect and swing at tomer every turn or play arbiter stax. It's what they deserve. My friend has a Lord Tresserhorn wheel deck that is essentially nekusar in a tresserhorn shell you might be interested.

Vince I'm in your corner my man. I know alot of people say you should adapt your deck style to the groups and build/play suboptimally but I think that way of thinking is as equally selfish from them as it is for you to stick to your guns and last I checked you're still the biggest contributor to your win percentage. What I'm trying to say is I enjoy your gameplay, your banter, your salt, and your shade as you poke holes in incoherent logic. Don't feel like you need to abandon your own personal entertainment or satisfaction or pride just for "KZbin." the games are much more enjoyable when everyone is having a good time trying to flex.

I mean, I think that a compromise where he can play a bit of what he wants without going full stax/combo (not saying he’s going full stax/combo now) would be best. Like 3 people’s enjoyment does trump one person’s enjoyment and metas are shaped by majorities. I think as the seasons gone on he’s done a better job powering down his decks a bit while still keeping his own style

Don't see the problem with the ramos deck, honestly. the point of the hybrid cost is that the card can work as a mono color card in both colors, so he's not breaking the color pie any more than the Chaos Warp that literally everyone is playing. Granted Wizards has bent or broken that rule a few times (Ghastlord of Fugue can't be mono black because of the unconditional unblockable and it can't be mono blue because of the unconditional Castigate/Unmask effect) but it shouldn't make that much of a difference. honestly I'm just sad they're not playing Etali :(

Props to tom for his deck, while he did technically broke the theme it was so sweet. Those are my favorite sets too, so many sweet janky cards. Btw vince, its not that people were ignoring the Deus of Calamity, it was that Tom was very clear that the Deus was comming at you, the player with pandemonium, genesis chamber and norin. It was literally a case of letting godzilla fight the monster, because at least godzilla isnt actively wanting to destroy you. You dont suck at politics, its more of bad luck, trying to be Seth's freind, and almost always playing the scarier cards in the board, while the rest durdle and try to assemble their combos (looking at you Tomer)

Maybe Kormus Bell? Stronghold Taskmaster and Urborg Shambler? Red: Akroma's Memorial. Lightning Cloud *might* be too good...maybe? Green: Nothing, although Coiling Woodworm, Titania's Chosen, Life and Limb and Living Lands should be interesting. All of the relevant protection swords? Probably?
