If Phil isn't going to play the boardwipe, why not just concede then? There isn't an answer out there that would have dealt with Tomer's board and left Phil's two creatures. So either no one answers anything and Tomer runs away with it, or someone else draws an answer (or two answers after Phil gave Tomer the extra turn to draw more protection) and Phil still won't do anything. I didn't like the strategy, and it made for a bad viewing experience. After it became obvious Phil wasn't going to play his wipe, I just started skipping forward to see if anyone ever dealt with the board. There are definitely times to slow roll removal and answers. When an elf-ball player has all the mana and card draw in the world, it's not that time. If you aren't going to try to win game 1 just to get to game 2, concede and start over. And the crew has revenge weeks for decks that don't have the showing they want. I'm sure if Phil had asked, they probably could have just done a revenge week in the next month. Edit: This comment was overly harsh. The Decree of Pain line is probably a valid attempt. And of course, Seth or Richard are also allowed to play removal in their decks as well. I really enjoy the current four as a group, but I feel like they could use 10% more Crim in their deckbuilding practices.

He could have drawn into mana to cast decree of pain, yeah? He only needed 2 lands and he would draw a bazillion cards and deal with the board. At best, he helps Seth or Richard win, and at worst Tomer still wins but it takes several more turns. Conceding doesn't really help if the other two players don't as well. Look, I get that Phil didn't want to do nothing all game but then just concede please guys. Tomer was so far ahead of all of you, it really wasn't fun to watch. Seth had the right mentality this game. Fight until you can't or just scoop, please don't make us watch an hour + long game of one guy stomping you all into the ground when you could actively prevent it. I have nothing against Phil, I really like his content and addition to CC, but I think from an entertainment point of view, this really really sucked.

It's not fair on the other 2 players fighting if you give the game to the 3rd. Yes he would've been behind but he'd make 2 allies and the elfball loses like 40 mana!

I am so mad, Phil didn't use Blasphemous Act. Tomer could use Teferis Protection in response and Seth would counter that. I was waiting for it, but it never came to be ;(

@andreash.92512 жыл бұрын
on minute 50:00: on phil's behalf, i wouldve totally cast aminatous augery. with the electromancer and the black thing and cormella, he had enough mana for that. he could have still whipe the board after that and get the augury back. Well, teferis protection wouldve ruined it. But thats another story.

This is EXACTLY why Richard was literally DEAD wrong about not running spot removal........ They folded to a two drop for no real reason besides lack of interaction.

except that if you replace your spot removal with board wipes then that two drop dumps elfs and then elf player losers their whole board. while spot removal may have been nice early as we saw when he drew assassins trophy a wrath is always good.

Major punt by Seth to not just counter Momentous Fall. Or to just not interact with that whole situation at literally any point, why would you allow Richard to get effectively infinite mana AND THEN let him draw a quarter of his deck?

Thank you for caring about the viewers, Seth. As long as we're on the subject, if we want to see the resources necessary to defeat a massive army languish unused in Germany because the Americans don't politic hard enough, there's a lot of competition on other channels.

Phil not casting blasphemous act in g1 felt really bad. Tomer is ahead massively and there is an immediate play that actually can impact the result of the game and he chooses the do nothing move. I'm sorry phil but that was aggravating.
@joshuacapps78882 жыл бұрын
Considering you're still paying it's mana cost, plus commander tax, I don't think Rocco's really that busted. There are a lot of commanders that let you draw a ton of cards or combat steps. Also, I believe Dockside is only really busted because artifact ramp is so huge in commander. Against my most my decks it comes down to get nothing because I don't need mana rocks in most of them. My mono red or white decks will give up 4 or 5 a dockside.

I understand Phil's logic. He was constantly on the precipice of deciding between wrathing and potentially dragging the game out, or not and Tomer just winning and it ending. Just because Tomer didn't immediately kill everyone wasn't Phil's fault. (No shade to Tomer either!)

Any chance that you guys could stop uploading in 1080p60? For Magic, there isn't much point in 60fps, and KZbin tends to encode it worse than 30fps. Plus, not all of us have the internet to stream 1080p60 so we basically have to choose whether we watch this as a slideshow or a podcast.
