There are two types of commander players: Those who have played against Vilis before (Malcolm) and those who have not (Max).

Yeah I was a little confused watching people not try and take out the Vilis before it gets online. Every iteration of Vilis I've faced is relentless once Vilis is out and drawing cards. It may not seem fun to gang up on a deck before it gets going, but that's really the only chance you have with a bunch of other midrange style decks.

Villis, Yawgmoth, and a few other goodstuff mono B are kill on sight. Max threw the game by not letting the angels finish the job unfortunately. Kill mono B first, then worry about anything else. They combo out or dominate every game they’re not hated out fast enough.

I have an under 20$ mono b sacc list that goes infinite easily, and a colorless Vilis deck. And there are very few exceptions to a good mono b deck like spellslinger, Enchantress, vehicle's, and rats that are simply not good on their own.

Have a Vilis deck too and it is one of my favorite. Different than the deck showcased here I think. I made mine to play around life loss/gain with cards that exchange life, life gain and cards like Vito, Sanguine Bond, Exquisite Blood, Tainted Remedy, Sould Conduit, Profane Transfusion and Wound Reflection among others. It is fun to get my life down then switch it with another player who has more and make another one lose life in the process.

I made mine into a demon tribal deck with Commander 2014 as a base. Switched out like 30 cards for it though. And recently bought some extra demons to switch around with. Kuro Pitlord is also in it and seeing it now on this vid made it clear that i am NOT gonna cut it out of my deck....too much synergy with Vilis and just a flavor win.

I think becuase when something like that dies triggers start with the active player, and then go then order. Since Nick was lager than Ben, his mimick vat trigger is placed on the stack last, and then resolves first. Then there isn't a seedborn in a graveyard for Bens trigger to take

Nick could easily win with activating kuro for any amount to draw enough cards to kill the table with the crawler. You only need one single target too put as many triggers on the stack as possible while keeping priority each time.

Misplay, you can't activate abilities during an untap step, so he wouldn't be able to bring a seedborn muse with mimic vat to untap everything.
