I've been looking at a legacy version of the list with Queen Marchesa, Cabal Therapy, and Dreadhorde Arcanist. Pitching a Cabal Therapy is value with Seasoned Pyromancer and any of your other 1 mana spells are good with Dreadhorde.

I'm a long time Mardu Pyromancer player, and the one plains is a trap. It doesn't help cast anything except for the front half of lingering souls (which you discard most of the time anyways) and 2 1 of cards. I also don't really agree with Monastery Mentor but that's another thing. If you ever have the one plains in your opening hand it usually feels awful. Usually when Blood Moon is good you side out some of the white cards anyways.

Owl Man in this version of the deck I believe you do want the basic plains. With the 3 blood moons in the side and the amount of land destruction floating around now and paths, I think it’s fine to add a single plains. I’m also a Mardu pyromancer player, but this deck is slightly different and should hit its white source from time to time. I think mentor is a good one of and can be a nice unearth target to cheat it out after discarding it.

Seth, i think you could have kept the heavy lands hands in this deck, especially against eldrazi. You have a billion ways of looting them away if you need to, and that would have minimized the impact of a lot of powerful cards in their deck like thought knot and skuller...but still, this was a very very sweet deck, i'm considering building it. Oh and also, congrats on the line against control, that was a real awesome play, and shows how good in this game you really are. Keep up the grear job!

With all the tokens being generated look at Purphorous instead of Yawg. He's an indestructible enchantment that pings your opponent for each token and also pumps them when you need it. If you get him on the board, Assassins Trophy is about the only thing that removes him in the meta right now.

At 20:11, there was consideration to wait until your turn to Bolt the Jace in case of Force of Negation. Only downside would be that you wouldn't be able to cast Yawgmoth. Just a thought.

I think you've read Force of Negation backwards. Opponent could not cast FoN there, as you can only pay its alt-cost during another player's turn, not yours.

I was not very impressed with Blood Moons in the side. Why not some Fulminator Mages ? It's good with unearth and against tron you can surgical a tron land. Also blood moon seems a bit inefficient against UW where they play a lot of basics. If you want to shutdown the colonades fulminator is also good and limiting there mana is better than trying to mana screw them. On the other hand blood moon might be better against other decks (maybe grixis shadows for exemple) so I don't know...

As a fairly seasoned pyromancer player, I do not think I have ever won a match against tron. The most atrocious matchup, especially game 1. It's pretty much hopeless.

Ghost quarter is pretty bad in this deck. It's not worth diluting your deck to fight tron, because your gonna lose that matchup 99% of the time regardless of what you put in.

This deck needs a Basic Plains definetly. It plays some more white than the basic Mardu deck frm a year ago that was more BR. Ive seen peple playing a couple of paths, or the new flashback helixes. Anyway. Having a Plains seems important in this deck

Yeah, I think traditionally a basic Plains isn't that important since Lingering Souls is usually the only main-deck white card and you can always just discard it and flash it back, but in this build we have more white cards which probably means we need a basic Plains.

I think hurting decks like this is the one reason to worry about Faithless Looting. I think we want more fair decks in the format, but Faithless Looting allows for some pretty broken things from unfair decks, so it is probably worth considering for banning even if an unfortunate side effect is it hurts some fair decks.
