I have used this a lot for self-EMDR. It's not that difficult if you have done it with a therapist. The amount of trauma I have is simply too much to process in one hour per week with a therapist. It would take a lifetime, so I am happy I can do it myself. I still see my therapist weekly to talk.

@@tientruong2007 yes when done right the emotional charge will dissapear. You still will have the memory, but the traumatic emotions are feeled trough / finished to a healthy end and can be released. I advise you to do it first with a therapist and make sure you're a bit stable. It's possible you discover new trauma that might be even worse. Self therapy is a real thing but I advise to have someone walking with you (a psychologist for example) to help you to stay on a healthy path.
@Randomdude-i8x3 жыл бұрын
@@isabellagrisales5722 they can ask you to go back to the traumatic memory and what part of it has the most emotional charge and can ask you to focus on it and feeling through wile following the moving dot and listening to the ticks. During that they will try to maintain contact and keep you party present in the here and now. And they do emdr for 30-60-90 seconds and then ask you about the experience and rate the amount of emotions and than start the whole cycle again. I think the key with trauma is simple, you'll just need to feel the emotions trough, finish them and than you can let go. You can also talk in a loving and accepting way to your inner children and ask them stuff.

I use this for Accelerated Resolution Therapy on myself. ART is life changing for me and most. About 3x sessions of 5 mins can literally solve a lifetime of trauma. It even solved my narcolepsy sleep disorder immediately. This is after a couple decades of drifting into sleep and not knowing what is awake or sleep sometimes. I went from being able to drive 20 mins to now 15hrs or so.
@eiendeeai Жыл бұрын
Could you share more on the protocol for narcolepsy? Was yours due to trauma rather than the typical causes of narcolepsy?
@johnnypolex Жыл бұрын
@@eiendeeai In short, the protocol for me was: First part of three; while following the dot, visualize one of your traumas in first-person POV from beginning to end. It doesn’t have to be 100% accurate. Just do your best. It also doesn’t have to be your worse trauma, since that could cause you to disassociate. You will probably feel things which feel very real. 2nd part of three; while following the dot, again visualize the trauma but in 3rd-person POV. You will probably feel feelings of sadness or compassion, but not guilt or fear necessarily. The final part; while following the dot, visualize the trauma in 3rd person POV again. But, this time, change the scenario in any way, creative or not, funny or neutral. It’s sort of like Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Aftereffects for your amygdala. Your amygdala response, essentially, can be reprogrammed via visualization imagery after/while unlocking it with the eye movements. This protocol should work for almost anyone that doesn’t tend to disassociate easily. But even then, it could work with some modifications to the protocol.

When I was a kid, I'd stare out the window of our car and imagine a giant sewing needle that would fly alongside us, over the grass beside the road. Every time a side road intersected ours, the needle would dive like a dolphin under that road and poke back up, leaving a stitch in the earth. The more frequent the roads, the more lively the leaping. I tried not to miss a single street. It was hypnotically relaxing, and I now wonder whether I was automatically doing a form of EMDR at that time as a way to cope with my narcissistic mom. Keep coming towards me, sunny little fishy! I wonder if anyone has any thoughts on this. The very fast emdr (like this video) makes me quite anxious and it feels like my breathing gets shallow and strained. My understanding, however, is that this is the more appropriate speed/movement for desensitization. Is it kind of like yoga, where an experience of initial increased anxiety (though uncomfortable) is a positive sign of energy moving/releasing? Or is it more a sign that this speed is unhelpful for me? Not asking for professional medical advice (this is youtube, i get it), just thought some of you on here might have some insight or experience with this. The older, slower video with the slightly curved movement does not cause this effect. I'm wondering if that's because it's not working at all...? Any thoughts would be most welcome, thank you! I'm trying to administer self-EMDR more recently and I am struggling because the trauma I am trying to work through is related to a 2.5 year long toxic verbally abusive relationship that I was in almost 10 years ago. I have since tried to forget everything about him, and since there were very little actual "events" but instead just a long period of time being constantlyyyy manipulated, controlled, gas-lit, accused, called names, I'm struggling to find the "event" to focus on for EMDR. Anyone else feel this way, and found a way to approach this?

Could you make one just like this without the intro and periodic comments popping up? I'm a therapist and I want to use this for telehealth clients! This is amazing

I like this quicker process, it makes me nod out actually. (As lap top hit me in the glasses your "pause message" came up) I feel really high and third eye opens(?). I will have to try it with the sound, as you explained for Mr. Atar, meant to prod both sides of brain. Thanks

@@MrGoose777 Thanks for enlightenment into that info. Tried it a couple of times, not for recreational use huh? Doesn't every body have PTSD now days ?

Thanks for this, I've been recommended to start doing this to unfreeze my eyes but when I do this exercise I'm not sure how to keep focussed on a negative experience as I have coming up so many.

What's the difference with the ball going slow or fast? Any different benefits between the 2?

Hi, does anyone know of a faster version than this? Thanks

Question, when I did EMDR years ago, my therapist had a form she would use that I would write out the trauma, on a scale how much discomfort I felt and then it would allow me to track and have more of a parameter for the process. Do you have those forms?

Is it possible to use it from the cellphone as well? Or do you need a big screen?

Can you make a long version that goes all around the screen (up, down diagonal) instead of just left and right? In any case thanks for this video

How does this work? you just stare at the screen?

Thank you for making this video, is the sound of the ball necessary for the EMDR to work better. Thanks!

Hello mR.Goose Can you please upload video of 2 Hz .It is helping me alot.Thank you.

Hello Mr. Goose. Would it be possible to add 21:9 video version (to scale horizontally on ultrawide monitors)? It is 3440x1440 (or 2560x1080) resolution. Of course only if it's not too difficult. btw. many thanks for all your work!

Does the ball have to be blurred? I wondered if it were my eyes so stopped the ball repeatedly and yes, it's blurred.
@phyllisboyle11622 жыл бұрын
Do we just follow the ball? Or do we have to bring up a memory/ feeling while doing it.

hi guys i have a fear of getting an ECG or having my blood pressure checked by others, ,When a doctor listens my heart beats from my back, my heart rate goes up 140-150bpm because of any possibility of detecting a heart disease like arthymy, I mean I literally have a fear of a disease will be detected by them (if there i have). Due to this fear i started to take(i used to have when i was in university for simulation exams) Dideral which relaxes your anxiety and fears. When I take that pill i dont care anything and easily can get ECG ECHO anything I want. What should I do to get rid of this fear. This started to affect my life really bad, i cant even go hospital without this pill! Does EMDR work for me ?

Are you supposed to think of something traumatic, etc or simply by doing the lateral movements is enough?
