Well no, they won the gold because Russia fell four times. They also all did safe routines and took advantage of the CoP. That IS how they won titles up until the code changed.

Since Yang Yun herself admitted she was underage during this competition, it's hard to see how this was a "false" scandal.

Because she didn't do two different vaults. Back in that day they were require to do that. So she got nailed with not only the fall but the repetition as well.
