I love this series, it’s always so funny when you point something out.

That Passadena guy is definitely a shyster, been ripped off from him before. He's been selling multiple fake Dou 42 k98's with completely restamped serial numbers and passing them off as all matching.

I started collecting in 1968 and quit years ago as the fakers are getting better at their trade. Most of what I got was from veterans and I did pay them a fair price. There were fake badges back then, but you could spot them a mile away, some were even laughable. The only original badge I have is a silver panzer badge that my father who was a Sgt. in a combat engineer battalion brought home.

Yeah that gettysburg COA for the fork was laughable. From family but no vet name lol

These videos are great to share info. I agree with your assessments. One thing I will mention about the fake SA dagger with a black painted scabbard...I believe there was a period of time where they came black from the factory and had to be repainted brown and some of them obviously did not get painted. I remember hearing this from a very old collector of SA daggers. Perhaps someone can correct me if I'm wrong or add to this comment.

You hit the nail on the head in this video. People buy, get burned have a bad experience and drop out of the hobby. Less collectors. It's like cutting your source of future customers. I used to collect militaria in the early pre internet 1980s and had quite a few German items, nothing cost outrageous amounts so even if I was duped and it happened, it wasn't that serious, (you could pick up German helmets for £16) but even with that past experience there's no way I'd start a collection now. Just too risky. Fantasy items with fantasy prices. Ironically the better looking stuff seems to have more realistic pricing! The only items I have left now are souvenirs from family.

@@MuchachoMilitaria that's fare enough. It was a live stream, people misspeak all the time including myself. I really can't be mad at you considering you're doing what most would see as taboo. That being spotting fakes. Have a good one muchacho.

As prices have been going sky high the fakes have multiplied... The margin on a double decal SS helmet is so high that people convert other helmets to make them high value items.. You need a high level magnifier to check the decals and paint.. Shame you feel necessary to cover up the swastika.. Only collectors are looking at these items.. Just make a statement at the start of the video..

I've been collecting since I first joined the army in 83. But I'm so careful with German combat badges. I have 55 now and thankfully all checked out authentic. Plus 127 Victorian named Campaign medals, 156 helmets 1640 to 1991 Iraq war

14:13 geez Louise man. Cap badges on collar tabs is... something different. I get that panzer skulls belong there but SS skulls is precious. Guy is a scammer through and through, if you buy his authentics, you're buying his story.

4:15 run for the hills man 4:43 RUN AWAY. Near perfect and white stitching on the chinstrap? And the rope keeping the leather tabs in a circle should not be that wide. The shell looks to be original with a new coat of paint (over pitting) and a brand new decal to boot. Run for the hills man, you're ruining the pixels of your screen looking at this abysmal crap. 5:34 it's blurry for a reason. Start making tracks muchacho
