Once you put the decal on, do you have to put epoxy or flex seal over top of the decal?

If you wanted to do a clear decal over a pop of colour on the rod would you epoxy the colour piece then apply the decal then epoxy again? What I would like to do on my first rod is add a piece of gold leaf and then a clear outlined decal overtop. Thanks!

Do you only put the finish on the decal, guide areas or the entire rod??

What can I mix with the poxy to make thinner?

You don't want to mix anything with the epoxy as it can ruin the chemical reaction in which hardens the epoxy. Instead, if you are trying to work with a thinner mixture, try to use right after 3 minutes of properly mixing the epoxy. Then, when you apply the epoxy onto the thread wraps, use heat to cause the epoxy to become "runny", and remove the excess epoxy on the wraps. The best practice is to do multiple thin coats, rather than one thick coat.
