Building these kits are actually therapeutic to me. I don’t even understand why someone would purchase some ready run. The fun of the hobby is the learning curve that comes with it. Kudos to you Adam.

Hi Adam. I have a quick question. What is the part number for the 0.2mm clutch shims you referenced at 53:39 (installing the Ackermann plate)? TIA.
@CE-fe5pz2 жыл бұрын
Quick tip. I found leaving the carbon tops on the hubs a little loose which makes inserting the camber link and its 6mm of shims easier, and then tighten them all at once.

I'm always unsure of how much Lube to put in the diff. I don't want it to overflow but I never tried installing The Sun Gear and wiping out the access because I've always been afraid of getting the lube down into screw holes and cause a problem with assembly

@AdamDrake Thanks for the video, I just built my Eco up following it. Do you ever use the longer front brace that comes in the kit(I assume it just eliminates more flex)? Finally, I remember you had talked about universals vs CVAs that come with the kit. Can you rebuild universals at all, like you can with CVAs? Thanks, Adam. 🏎🏎

@Adamdrake I have a mbx8 eco when using the universals on the rear do I use two 8x10 bearings I noticed there’s a third inner race or should I use the mbx6R hubs . Appreciate the help 👍🏽. My car has the 8x10 bearing on the outside hub but the inside bearing is the cva bigger bearing I can’t recall the size on the bigger bearing
@AdamDrake2 жыл бұрын
With universals you need to use 8x16x5 bearings on the inside and outside.

will the tekno traction drive work with the dif installed the way you did in this video? i know on the MBX8 you did the video on flipping the dif & cutting the chassis in order to accommodate it. should we follow that video if we plan to use the Tekno traction drive on our MBX8R?

No, the diff needs to be flipped to use the traction drive system.

How in the hell did you thread the collar so easily onto the threaded shaft of the servo saver? My spring must be too long because I have destroyed my fingers trying for an hour, then when I finally got the collar to grab one thread, it was cross threaded. I think the problem is that the diameter of the spring is about 1mm too small and therefore the flange of the plastic bushing (on one end) and the flange of the threaded collar (on the other end) will not slip up into the spring. I'm still trying to figure it out. I am going to have to go find a small spring compressor. Your spring mush be at least 4-5mm shorter than mine. You didn't even compress the spring - you just simple threaded it on.
