Except he got knocked out by Henery Cooper and Dundee used a razor to slash Ali's glove to buy time..
@brucescott42613 жыл бұрын
@@mike62mcmanus ...First of all, Ali wasn't knocked out by Cooper. The former was knocked down, gotten up and walked toward the corner under his own power. Dundee didn't used a razor to split Ali's glove. There was already a slit in the latter's glove. The former had widened the slit to buy a few extra seconds. Dundee requested for a new pair of gloves, to no avail. Ali stopped Cooper by a technical knockout in the fifth round, as predicted. I don't know why do you and the rest of the anti-Alis have to make such a huge case out of it. Ridiculous!!

I saw Ali in his College Circuit at the University of Calgary, I was staying at a CO-ED Dorm, mostly Arabic floor level, they were going to Pray, so I joined. My roommate knew him from New York, a Lebanese X Black Man. Girls liked him, but they stayed away from me, I was an Instructor in Tae Kwon Do, and Ali was laughing at me... that is a memory I will Cherish. Then I read a book about him. I later named my Son, "Malcolm B. Cardinal," when I completed my Studies. Ali is the Greatest.
Some men never age ……the beautiful butterfly just kept floating into heaven . God Bless ALI

Ali , in terms of skill, speed and ring craft, looks like he's been boxing all his life, every single day. Terrell looks like he pulled on a set of gloves for the first time that afternoon. Such is the gulf in the talent. Always look at the legs and their movement,- foot positioning, stance, fluidity of movement, cadence, leg strength. The legs never lie.

Which should have gotten him disqualified. There wasn’t anything “ethical” about Clay. He called other blacks “uncle toms” for no good reason. Which was wrong. Just a couple of thoughts on the fight. I hadn't watched it in about ten years. Ali threw a lot of uppercuts during the first half of the fight. Terrell threw a lot of punches to the back of Ali's head, once again, during the first half of the fight. After the eighth round, it seemed Terrell was just looking to survive standing up and Ali felt he made his point by the eighth and was content to go the distance as well. Noticeably absent in Ali's corner, Bundini. They had a falling out for a couple of fights and Bundini actually worked with George Chuvalo during that time.
@malerierosa61392 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that info. I noticed Bundini wasn't there and was wondering why. I also never knew that Bundini worked with George. Are you a part of the facebook group 'Muhammad Ali The Peoples Champion? If not you should be they share little tidbits like that on ever photo, its a great group.

Terrell was totally outclassed in this fight and really was fighting not to lose, covering up most of the fight. I noticed Herbert Muhammad said Ali was going to fight Zora Foley next. If you want to see a fighter not cover up and drop his hands versus Ali and see what happens against Ali in his prime, watch that fight. Ali took out Foley with the same punch he knocked out George Foreman many years later.
@kcash63592 жыл бұрын
You are correct. Once Ali had Terrell hurt in the seventh and Ali taunted him in the eighth, the fight was pretty much over. Terrell just wanted to survive and offered very little offense the rest of the way. Ali sensed it and was happy to win a decision.

Ali's speed was always the key to his success, there were so many times in this fight that he was wide open but Terrell just didnt have the speed to hit ali with a clean shot. Terrell was a difficult fighter for ALi, he didnt give Ali much of any openings for a good clean shot much less for Ali to hit him with those beautiful combinations Ali was known for. But i think it was Terrell was just not aggresive enough or didnt want to get knocked out to really push the fight. He would have had to take more chances if he really wanted to win. I think Ernie was happy just to go 15 and collect his check. Howard always claimed that Ali was just punishing Terrell and could have knocked him out anytime he wanted. I dont think so, i dont think it was worth the risk for Ali to really go at him, plus i think Ali's humanity kicked in and he wasnt going to kill the dude just because he wouldnt call him ALi. Ali wasnt a psychopath after all.ALi just kept sticking him and added up the points for a win.

Joe Louis may be calling Ali, "Clay," for any number of reasons, but every time he is asked to rate Ali as a fighter, as in this fight and the first Liston fight, he takes nothing away from the champ. This time it was, "Ali is a great champion and he's proven it tonight." He also didn't agree with Cossell's disparaging comments about Ali's tactics, saying, "I don't know Howard, he can do anything he wants." I love Joe Louis.

Some years after that, Chuck Wepner did him the same, but in this case Muhammad Ali claimed the referee and gave back him the hits.
@malerierosa61392 жыл бұрын
At one point he has Ali in a headlock and is hitting him over the back while the referee is trying to break them....ridiculous so many hits to the back of the head....Terrell should have been penalized for that.
@ytcoleman2 жыл бұрын
Yes the ref needed fired on spot. He could t hit Ali until the clinch and the. Behind the head and where ever. Poor sportsmanship. That’s why he got his ass beat for 15 rounds.

@@roberthorton6619 Wrong. Louis was widely known as the best and even the boxing commission regards him as one of the most complete fighters in boxing History. Known to fight ranked #1 & #2 contenders, he held the title for damn near 12 years. Calling Louis a bum shows your ignorance, Mr. Horton...

Alki fouled him much worse with a single foul. Damaged Terrell's eye badly, I think Terrell won anyway. Ali throws fast flurries but most punches don't land. He gets credit for 'dancing' and flashy conbinations, I'm lookin at punches landed.
