I do want to make a disclaimer, I'm finding that some people are getting this Muji pen and finding that the ink it comes with by default is actually very lousy. I apologize I never said anything about this as I never tried the ink it came with, I got a piston converter for it and put Platinum Carbon black ink in it, and it works great that way. Anyways, just be aware that for some reason, it seems like they do ship it with very unsatisfying ink.

Hi, Peter. I just received mine from Amazon today. Didn't expect the cartridges to be this small. Noticed you bought a converter, and was wondering if you could give me the details about that converter, and if it holds more ink than the cartridge it came with. Thank you for your time!

In terms of your artists statement; I think there are two unifying things that run through all your videos. 1. Art can be anything 2. Just make some art today. I have heard you say those two things in almost every single video in one form or another. So there you go, that's my two cents.
@sa6ko700

The artist's statement (at least the one I had to write for university) was basically a motivational letter. Stating why you want to do something, not really what you are doing. But there could be other meanings. :)

@@MichelleOL The brand is platinum. They make fountain pens and inks and other stationary things. Platinum carbon ink bottle ink black 60cc (japan import) (Original Version) the carbon ink is one of the only truly waterproof inks I've found that work in fountain. There is a super5 ink as well however it's not as black(kind of a dark grey when it dries) as the Platinum. www.amazon.com/dp/B0028MTSFQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_qt.FDbDPMS63J

@@CaptainWumbo I have no personal experience with that specific sailor ink. So I can't say, I don't typically find most inks have a scent though. The platinum ink just smells like ink to me. @harneyzach
@harneyzach 5 жыл бұрын
Platinum Carbon black is a solid choice. Not the blackest of blacks. It dries quickly plus it's waterproof. Just don't keep it in your pen for too long because it's a pigmented ink. Regular cleaning might be necessary.

Finally got my Muji fountain pen to work. And that tried in many months. Pull the pen out and decided to follow Peter’s example of using carbon ink with a converter. After a thorough cleaning, I switched to a converter filled with carbon ink. Still had a little bit of a problem with ink flow but I decided to push some ink out through the feed using the converter piston, and the pen has worked like a charm ever since. Thank you, Peter.

I like the Hongdian forest series aluminum fountain pens. They come in several nib sizes including bent nib. They come with a plunger converter. I have bought several of them through years for Urban sketching. I love them! I usually keep a bent nib and extra fine nib pen clipped to my shirt collar to be ready when I see something to sketch. They come in various colors, have a nice balance and weight and flow nicely. They are about 15 to 17 dollars with converter now. I use these a lot. They have become my go to fountain pen.

Your words and your art really inspire me, it's somewhat simple words with complex art. Your art makes me feel inspired in a weird way and gives me odd vibes but I really enjoy it. Usually when I draw I draw people and it's colors and sloppily put together yet neat and that's what I draw when I get inspired, however your art gives inspires me in a much different way and makes me want to be more abstract. I look at your art and at first glance it might seem like a cluster of nothing, but once you take a deeper look, it can really make you feel things with a much deeper meaning. That's the power of art and not everyone can accomplish that effect. But you can and I truly admire you for that. Thank you Peter :)

In Germany almost wveryone grows up with lamy, in elementary school you have to write with fountain pens and after that it depends on school, but its kinda weird because like 90% of the childre has a lamy pen and i know people who had like 10 or more with 14 years But my point is its weird because thats not the avarage in general but the average price for a "starter" fountain pen in germany Btw pls excuse my bad english lol

The drawing reminds me of organs or layed out anatomy. Maybe alien anatomy? Or some sort of organic specimen. Looks super rad! Edit: I can almost see a human laying down inside of it.

I've been keeping an eye on your channel for awhile now looking to discover just the right kind of fountain pen to buy as my FIRST fountain pen ever. And I think this one might be it. Nice and simple, not at all intimidating to a newbie such as myself. Inexpensive but not cheap. Satisfying hand feel and paper scratching sounds (which will hopefully motivate me to draw and write more on a day to day basis). And you seem to feel fondly about this one. So I think I'm finally going to take the plunge and get myself one of these. Thanks, Peter!

Peter every time I see you you get more handsome and I'm starting to get genuinely upset by it. What deal did you make???? What eldritch being are you doing pen reviews for in exchange for beautiful art and beautiful face?????

I have just recently found your channel and I must say, your voice is very soothing. I bet you get this a lot. It is like ASMR to me. You are technically a new ASMR artist for me to watch and relax to. Yay ^-^ Especially the drawing.. Very meditative. Thank you!

So I watched your video and I bought a Muji Aluminum pen from Amazon. When I received the pen it felt Wonky when I used it. Kind of off-balance and hard to hold. Kept flipping upside down. I then bought the same pen from the Muji Store in Portland and it works like a dream and feels amazing. I thought I would put that info out there. Also, it was $5.00 cheaper at the Muji store.
