The successful cc removes 10 stacks of empowerment. Mesmer distort cleared big balls, dodging through them causes them to stop and shoot more balls which you can use after baiting them away from the group. (targeting reticle if you are the chosen one). Our strat was 9 handle Gree (South side add) and 1 tank Greer and Reeg as a rev with bubble, then all group up on Reeg, burn him and go on boss. Whenever the adds were up we would focus Gree, then Reeg then return to the main boss. To handle the tank (qdps herald) getting a green or any form of missing dodges and needing help, we ran a heal scourge with sand swell to get over and quick revive with signet or otherwise catch the green or such. Ofc many different strats exist, but generally killing the adds helps a lot.

There's another strategy where everyone goes to 1 boss and nuke them down fast one at a time. For the balls @ 00:52 if you look at your buff bar, there's an indicator (the first purple icon on the buff bar) to show you are targetted by the balls (If you can't see that your character getting targetted). If you got mesmers in your group, the mesmer can use their distort (F4) and block it for the group, but if no mesmer, dodge into the balls to get rid of them

If you put a reflect bubble over the "homing balls" from Greer, *and* the bubble is there when the balls explode, they will reflect the damage back to Greer. Basically, tell people to stand still together and put the bubble over them, they must then let the ball hit them so that the balls stop, then the bubble reflects the ball damage to Greer. The ball people must dodge away once the balls have hit them (use stab if needed) or they will get stuck under the balls and die. Reflect bubbles are a huge asset in this fight in general and can save the group from dicey situations with overlapping mechanics.

Nice guide! When I run this boss I like to run directly in and focus Greer to 65%. When he becomes invulnerable you can then damage the two adds down to 50%, and then return to the boss, then repeat the same thing at 35% to kill the adds. To me itt felt like having the squad together at all times just made things easier, as you have more reflects and people to rez you if you go down.

From testing, the big balls can be dodged into by the targeted player to deflect them away and prevent the hit. Also if you focus Reeg during add split phases Gree tends to walk towards the group more making it easier to cleave them both if you're lucky.

First! Thanks, nice guide. Might be helpful for newer players to include examples of reflect skills that each class has as this makes the fight soooo much easier. Looking at herald specifically.

Yes this would be very helpful lol.

The list of skills for that is pretty long. Best are probably Firebrand and Revenant. Druid and Mesmer are also pretty good. To get a complete list, try searching for projectile on the wiki. And you don't have to look for reflects only. Destruction or conversion works as well. Not sure about distortion or block.

If you're a sweaty tryhard with big DPS, there's a strat where everyone just go and nuke down Greer to 66% first, kill the ads, then proceed to nuking the boss. The clear time is roughly 4-5mn.

I was surprised how fun the new convergence was, i was curious if the raid was similar, as it felt considerably better than the world boss versions.

FOR PUG GROUP ALWAYS GO GREER FIRST srsly its much easier I love mukluk vids and his one is also a valid strat but I tried both several times and greet first always went much better -and always stack behind boss (tank excluded) also super important, evades a lot of things

My first experience with Greer. Whole party walks in and dies to big green ball. Greer Glitched, we then went and died to Decima. Good run.

Another possible version: - just everyone play scourge (edit: well and quickness) - ignore almost everything and spam condi cleanse, barrier and CPC - the phases stay the same - win We did the same thing as in the guide. As long as people stay with their groups so the healer can cleanse everything and maybe give barrier, all should be fine. This one took a while for my group to figure out since it's hard to see what is going on with all the aoe spam and the respawn bug didn't help in our first session. But when you are aware of all the mechanic Muk points out, and stay with your group, you will be fine.

This page has a list of all the raid guides I've made. I recommend watching the first one that tells you everything you should need to know to get started, then simply watch the "get to the point" for any boss you are about to attempt. mukluklabs.com/gw2-raid-guides
@icata12345Ай бұрын
easiest way is to get a viable dps/boondps build from snowcrows or hardstuck, practice getting 95~100% [boonuptime if boondps] on golem and atleast 60-70% of your benchmark dmg, look at mukluks quick raid guides for each wing, and just camp raid LFG for no kp groups, recently there are alot for the 1-4 power creeped wings
@kaltaron1284Ай бұрын
There are learning communities depending on your language and timezone. Or you could just look for a meta build you like, get somewhat comfortable with it, checkout at least Muk's guides and give LFG training groups a chance. There is a small risk you will get some douchebags but as long as you communicate, it should be very small.
@kessy628Ай бұрын
One thing I'll add to this (very good) advice, raids are a lot less scary in practice than they appear to be, and the raid community is a lot friendlier than I've see people make it out online to be. As long as you're up front about being new to raids and communicate, if you join a group that says things like "all welcome" or "yolo" or similar (aka, groups that don't advertise as experienced), most people are more than happy to help bring you along and explain the big basics for each fight. Also if you want a more formal training experience, a lot of content creators in the GW2 community on twitch do raid trainings and similar style things, so don't hesitate to ask in chat if they do them and if so when the next one is.
@Shrek_The_MathematicianАй бұрын
dont be afraid, raids are really easy in gw2 compared to other mmos. the video litteraly is a guide on how to kill the first boss of the new raid. it was released just a few days ago its still new for everyone, just get a build thats not completely random and join any group you like. The easiest build to achieve high damage is p/p thief (or deadeye) , Mukluk also has a video showcasing it. It's a 0 button build where you auto cast unload. With a build like that you never have to focus on dps or care about rotation. You can then dedicate your attention on the fight and mechanics itself and never have to look at your skill bar.
