@Chunkymonkey7, it stirs my heart to hear bagpipes. I'm a Tamil lad from Chennai in South India and grew up in a Scots Kirk (St. Andrews in Madras). Many of my playmates at the time were Scottish. The Madras City Police started a bagpipe band in those days because one of the sergeants made a request.

I am Brazilian. But I had the opportunity to visit Scotland and know a little about its culture. It is a beautiful and welcoming country. The Scottish spirit is very warm. And the sound of the bagpipes makes me cry. I had no doubt and I ended up buying two of them in Edinburgh. That eventually served as decoration on the wall of my office. Because it is very difficult to play. Sir James Paul McCartney was sure to be very insumed (as always) when he created this beautiful song. And he made a great tribute to Mull of Kyntire. And of course to all Scotland. Detail I learned to sing this song in 1978. Hugs from Brazil.

@flip inheck What do you mean? That Denny Lane is the author of this song? If you are implying that Denny is co-author, then you should have written "and Denny Laine" You would have been wrong, at the same, but you wouldn´t have made a fool at of you, suggesting that Laine is the solo creater of it...
@GabrielSoares-lj9rv5 жыл бұрын
@flip inheck I´m from Portugal. Not an expert in English. But, I bet i can write in your language much better than you in mine... Now, stick to the point: what do you mean by "Denny Laine"??? Are you trying to tell the world that the this song was written by him and not McCartney??? Or are you just being silly???
@GabrielSoares-lj9rv5 жыл бұрын
@flip inheck So, you should have written "and Denny Laine"!!! Not just "Denny Laine". There should have been an "and" before the name of Denny. Because, it´s very clear that, without the "and", what it does means is that you are saying that it is only Denny the author. Get it? Simple logic... And yes! It is a P. McCartney AND D. Laine composition! Although Macca have purchased the rights from Denny, some time ago, and now the title can be credited just to Macca.
