Watching Cletus and jackstand it's like backyard mechanics (well atleast until you realize how much jackstand knows about cars) with Kevin its like a nasa rocket build. The amount of time he puts into explaining and the detail is nuts.

I feel like most people (myself included) are more like the backyard mechanic. Moderately strong understanding of every component of a car, and the knowledge/tools to fix most things. However, when it comes to some of the devilish details, or even if you're needing a tech tip, we all have that one car friend who has the answers every time. And if you don't have a car friend like that, your name is Kevin.

Instead of swapping injectors what about just swapping supply lines and running the other set of injectors on the race gas.
@robinclaidlaw3 жыл бұрын
Yes, this is what I was thinking too, I knew someone else would have thought of it. It seems like the quickest way to swap over short of plumbing it so you can swap over by opening and closing valves in the supply lines, but I guess you’d also need a simple way to have the car be able to control either set with on the race tune. I like the idea of built in redundancy on a car like this.

This is a great example of why a well built drag car costs so much. It isn’t just about throwing a $30k motor and trans setup in and then hitting the track. I have a buddy that spent nearly 80k on having a full chassis fabricated for his 70.5 split bumper. A true turnkey race chassis is a work of art once it is completed and the design and fab is probably the biggest portion of a winning combination.

@@NoWr2Run Alternators don't really care which way they spin, the field generates AC power that is rectified into DC. The rectifier doesn't know or care which direction the rotor was spinning. The only thing that might reduce the life would be that the cooling fins aren't set up for that direction, but it's not like they're going to be pulling that much power out of it going down the road, so heat shouldn't be an issue.
