When I was in St malo outside the city I was fishing in the marina for them waiting for the boat home and I used 6lb line a tiny stem float with a split shot and about 3ft of line down to a tiny coarse fishing size hook and after missing atleast 10 takes on bread 🍞 after about 3 hours I finally hooked and landed a 3.5lb thin lip grey my first ever and I was as buzzing happy as you are 👌😁😁👍💯

@@Inshore_Angler Unbelievable catches there.. Have often seen shoals of them in east cork but never fished for them. Am gonna try and get another first this year. Thick lip thin lip or golden grey will be trying for them... Have had my first Stinger, Tope Undulate and Corkwing - all inspired from watching your vids. they are all brilliant and are a real credit to you promoting sea angling in Ireland and Kerry. Fair play to you.
@Inshore_Angler3 жыл бұрын
Tony you should try for the mullet on the bombarda float set up. I've not used it a whole pile myself but I believe it's devastating for the golden greys especially. Delighted to hear that now the aim of the channel was to help guys get a few more fish and share a bit of info if possible
@tonymorrissey96373 жыл бұрын
@@Inshore_Angler Yep your channel has definitely helped >>>200%. I definitely wouldn't have caught those new species or have such productive sessions now. my catch rate has increased loads. Ill definitely be after the mullet - but I'm thinking next target for me is Giltheads in west cork.......but after catching my first stinger (only12lb) a few weeks ago that could grow to be addictive... they fight like crazy.. thanks a million

Seriously I have taken my hat off and even eaten it. To me this demonstrates your skill as an angler. I fished for six months in 2005 at port Carlisle in Cumbria. Never got one!!!!! Class I was hoping to get my light ledger rod in time for the trip but I didn't yet. The freshwater rods are lovely if your going to be fishing on the move for the day
@SpiralMoss3 жыл бұрын
@@Inshore_Angler I bought my John Wilson off Henry in Dublin, he has a great range of ledger rods. Back in the 90's I used to use one for flounder's in the Shannon estuary, they were cracking for the flats. Especially in saltwater creeks where you don't need to cast far. The bite detection is something else 👍👍 A light tackle competition would be fun off the beaches here in Ireland.. Scale down the rods reels line and weights and it's a whole new fishing experience 👍

Ty for the video haven't seen one from you in a while. Wow so calm on the beach. so calm I was wondering if you could do some fly fishing since they were feeding up top? Beautiful looking fish. Myself and my family are coming over in august for two weeks, spending a week in limerick then a week down in Ballyheigue Covid permitting, in 2022. haven't been home in 6 years. Your accent reminds me of my good friend Joe Drury from Ballyheigue another reason I love watching your videos, your enthusiasm is so infectious.

Thanks William. I've never done any proper fly fishing but I do have a fly rod lol it would be a good laugh seeing me try at the very least. Ballyheigue is a great spot. If it didn't have the tourists and the seaweed I'd fish it an awful lot more

Hello mateusz and thank you for the comment. I think the 2 hook flapper is a good rig for barrow Harbour and also it might be an idea to use a lure like a german sprat or silver toby. There's a lot of sandeel in there so the lures can be deadly
