I'm not in favor of pageants for young children. I personally wouldn't expose my child as a mother. But what I love is that momma forming her beautiful girls to know how beautiful and valuable they are as young African American girls. Why ?! Well because there is so much racism and undervalued social rejection with black women in general. And to re-enforce that self love self value and greatness is what all mothers should do with their daughters and sons as well!!! I did (with my two adult kids) and still do with my young boys. Remind them often that they are amazing, love, smart, valuable, resilient and capable !! 🙌🏼💕❤️🙌🏼💕❤️🙌🏼 Every child is worthy!

I was naturally imaginative & loved to act which I still do as an amateur . Most of us had music , dance , elocution lessons , many of us completed in concerts , out on our own produced puppet shows , entertained at nursing homes . We must certainly were encouraged to '' perform ,'' but it was about being part of a team . Helping each other , encouraging the shy ones to ' get up & read aloud ' . This is encouraging self centeredness AND worse feelings of inadequacy . These are NOT confident children , they are self defensive age inappropriate troubled small.souls , So so sad .
