The Pizza Show: All About Frank, All About Pizza

You've seen our host Frank Pinello visit pizzerias all across the country-now it's time to get to know Frank and his own pizzeria, Best Pizza, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Frank takes us to the Culinary Institute of America where he first honed his passion for cooking, then to Giacomo's, the first pizzeria he ever worked in, and finally to the neighborhood he grew up in: Bensonhurst, Brooklyn.
There's no better way to get to know Frank than through the eyes of his family, so we hit some of his favorite neighborhood places and end it all with a Pinello family dinner, complete with Nonna, pizza potatoes and scratch-offs.

You'd be surprised. You can make some in 30 min lol. Not to knock on the guy but it does show if you want the best, you gotta do certain things yourself. It all becomes a part of this multi-layered journey. Cooking is the best. I now make my own breads, fresh pastas, sushi, chinese take-out style dishes, soft flour tortillas for making my own burritos and other wraps, cliff bars, chili, stews, breakfast deli sandwiches on my own english muffins from scratch. Then every now and then, I check out a bunch of tasty videos for some inspiration lol. Enjoy. :) Now confident on various styles of pizza, especially classic Sicilian sfincione and Napoli haha

I get over to that part of Williamsburg regularly. I tried it and it was decent, though I wouldn't say it was amazing compared to some other places I've been at roughly the same price point and the vibe is a little touristy. I bet the pies are better than the slices. I'll go back again for a second try. L&B Spumoni Gardens, on the other hand, is crazy good, but it's way out in South Bensonhurst so not touristy at all and a fairly long trip.

Frank is the greatest thing to come to "food" TV. The man is a superstar in the making. Reason? Humility and honesty. This my friends is what makes a superstar. Take Gordan Ramsey for example. On the surface, he looks like an arrogant human. But nope. When shown his ways from someone that knows what they are doing (His recent series in the jungles and whatnot) he takes a step back and takes what they have to heart. NYC has a pizza culture, most places don't. NYC in general seems to have a distain for chains outside of the tourist traps.

I live in Washington state, and the pizza culture is almost non-existent here. The only places that aren't chains are overpriced as shit, and while the quality is better than the chains, it doesn't live up to its price point. There's just not a market for pizzerias unless it's a big city.

In Germany we don't have chains, except pizza hut, which closes one after another, because italy is 2 hrs. by plane or depends on where in germany 5-10 hrs of driving, we have original italians doing original italian pizza everywhere in the country, bless up !
