Climbing, diet or whatever and I am sure he shares his feelings pretty openly. In spite of it he still has friends that seem to respect him, and he seems like he is willing to help anyone he can whether or not they share his beliefs.

The thing I love about Alex Honnold (in all his interviews and videos) is it's 100% real. He is not "posing" for the camera or trying to be something he is not. It's just him. Take me or leave me. Even in his newer stuff he just doesn't care. I love watching stuff like this. The worst thing he could do is sign up with a netflix series and then have the episodes "Americanized" if that is even a word.

If you can pay your bills and hold your own and you're doing what you love, then you are a success, period. As for you worrying shoes or whatever, it's a sign your life if pretty good. When you're broke and maybe your health breaks down you'll stop giving a flying fuck about lots of what used to consume you. You learn what really is and isn't important. Then when you're doing better again you can take some of that new perspective with you and you'll be a better person for it.

Well yes and no. Rock climbing is like anything. You can do it on the weekend with friends and have a great time without being that strong or good. Many of the cheerio varieties have a lot of added sugar so it's not particularly any more healthy than a kid's sugary cereal. Alex also makes it clear that he's avoiding any unnecessary additives so cheerios being a processed food is definitely going to contain stuff he doesn't want. For example: he specifically looked for nut butter with only nuts in the ingredients. Nothing else. No salt, no sugar, no oils, just nuts.

It's a good fear to have. I didn't more than 20 years ago...painting my 18ft./vaulted ceiling in my bedroom....ladder extension came off the wall, slid down, I impacted another 3ft, ladder at the base....opening up my rip cage, lacerated spleen, and 2 broken ribs. And I was a rope climber/guide on Rainier....with no accidents/serious injuries. I don't have a fear of heights, ladders, etc.- BUT when on ladders following my accident....I RESPECT ladders so much more- and approach their placement with great respect and homework. BTW....I'm 63, and have only had one ladder accident. Ever.

Im a painter...on them most days....extension ladders i make sure and double triple make sure they are balanced right and wont slide one way or the other especially out side if the ground is not level...then adjustable feet come in handy!! Every time a make a move on a ladder I am 100% conscious of that move as to not get out of balance

I LOVE that he reads the ingredients in peanut butter! It drives me crazy too. The entire *palm oil* industry is extremely harmful and unsustainable. It is a hassle looking for peanut butter that does not contain palm oil or other additional ingredients. Look for peanut butters that say "Ingredients: peanuts" or organic peanuts.

Not only that. In Borneo, over 40% of the rainforests are harvasted (burned in intentionally burned fires) to make space for plantations palm trees. There are hundreds of miles of plantations. Palm trees dry land and for five years, land loses all nutritional properties. The next few decades can not grow anything on it. It is a huge echological catrastophe, probably the biggest one in present world.
