Contrary to what many people think, I believe he was really crying. As they are discussing the killings and suffering, I believe Alec is reliving what he had done and is horrified and knows they are going to catch him. But, listening to him ask if they suffered? There's only one logical reason for AM to lie about being with his family in the minutes before they were killed. How likely is it that some vigilante showed up immediately after Alex left, without a weapon and used the families guns. They also left the crime scene the same way alex did and managed to leave absolutely no evidence they were there. Also in the moments after his family are killed Alex is suddenly very busy since he managed to generate 280 plus steps which he can't remember and can't explain. He also makes a flurry of phone calls. He cant even remember what his last convo was with his wife and son. He would still be lying today about being there if the dog video hadn't been found. He also had GSR on his hands and seatbelt. It's obvious it was him, because otherwise there's no need to lie.

I agree. Both his son and wife were having medical issues that he can't say exactly what they are but everything is all about him. Maggie came to Moselle because she was worried about him. I doubt that, if she wasn't staying there with him then she had her own stuff going on and was living and planning her life without AM. Maggie could easily talk or text the in-laws about the condition of AM's parents. AM pressured Maggie into coming to Moselle, she made that know to Blanca and her sister and they encouraged her to go.

@@sherylcrowe3255 I think Paul was such a cocky little shit, he thought him and his big guns could handle anything that came up. He nevertheless didn’t expect to have to defend himself against his own father. This is just conjecture but I think Maggie was shot first. The gun used on her was quieter and faster. He shot her in the leg then possible in the back, or the other way around, that would have alerted Paul to come out of the feed room, where he was when he received his shot in the chest, then possible he turned around to go back into the feed room. Possibly to get his own gun, which he thought was in there. That’s when he was shot in the back of the head. After that, Maggie was finished off with the shot to her head. They said it looked like the gunman stood over her, possibly talking to her prior to shooting her in the head. I can’t remember, did she have stippling from the head shot? I think I heard someone testify to that. I’m not all that good at second to second analysis of this, I will have to write it down and look at it. Anyone have any suggestions? Surely there are many law enforcement people who are following this trial. Give us the benefit of your experience.

When you've already given a detailed statement to the police and they ask you to come in to go over it again, they aren't looking for more information. They are looking to lock you into statements about things they already have proof are not true., so that you can't later say "oh, did I say X? I meant to say Y." His high powered defense attorney/friend should never have allowed this. "Why did Maggie come to Moselle? How long were you at your mother's? Did you ever see Maggie and Paul alive again after they left the house to go to the kennels?" -- all things they already know the answer to. The lawyer sits there like a lump.

It just does not have a motif, a reason, not even a life insurance of millions and other reasons, other than perhaps he had a moment of complete craziness… yet not that crazy to tied up the place, clean himself, wash everything carefully, though no detergents residuals seems to have bothered any forensic and then go to visit his mum? You have got to be in Hollywood to believe to all this. They were in troubles financially and own money and the boat tragedy and all in all what a messy situation, but his crying and sobbing still is so real and so moving. The process of hearing details of your son’s head blown up is hard on us strangers, cannot imagine his horror and the pain to hear his most beloved people verbally ‘dissected’ (after being already gone through the same process physically) and by a coroner and the DA and in public, in front of millions of viewers… American justice system is seriously cruel and unfair!! I think he had the rain coat and guns down at the kennels. He had planned all of this out. Trick them there. Have the last meal together.. then “go do things he didn’t want to do at the kennels” as he says it like it was chores. I think maybe he started to lose his nerve but the dog and chicken situation sent him into action. Chaos and just opportunity happened all at once. It didn’t go exactly as planned because Paul didn’t go down right away from the first shot. Then it was just a hurried mess as Maggie realized what was happening. She probably was screaming and so was Paul in confusion thinking it was an accident at first-and that’s why he didn’t follow thru very well with clear shots, phone locations/ alibi time/steps/clean up before he left to Almeda. He panicked and got messy. He knew Paul was talking to Rogan at that time. But figured his friends and fellow corrupt cops would never arrest/suspect him. He has gotten off for so many crimes before. Why would he think differently now? I think he did love Paul, albeit not “like” him at the time, but the love for Maggie was gone long ago. And in his mind he rationalized everything. That Paul was a lost cause anyways and he could be together with Maggie or some sick sideways thinking. His love for his family dynasty/wealth/power and prestige was way more important to him than his wife and his spare. Sad. But I don’t think it was because of a pill problem. He has worse hooker and gambling addictions that were never addressed in court. Which was weird.
