Ring muscle up was easier to learn and gave me the foundation strength to do an explosive pull-up (chest above the bar). Plus doing ring dips in the dip phase of the ring muscle up is more difficult & deep than on the straight bar. Great video content. Keep up the inspiring work.

I started with the bar muscle up mostly because i didn´t have the rings, but i always felt that the bar was easier than the rings mostly because it mostly require strength not so much technique.

I've bought the rings a week ago. I've decided to do one day with rings, one day for core and legs and what I have the mood for, kettle bell and so on. Today was my third of fourth rings training. Started with pull ups 3×5 with 15 weight vest. Then vest off, wide pull ups, then dips. I thought I do some false grip practicing and about the third pull up like this, I though I attempt the transition, and voila, I MADE IT!!!!! My first ring muscle up, and as a true power move, no momentum or kick or anything like that!!! I am soooooo happpyyyyy!!! Thanks Adam! You have huge role in this!

Just this week i actually managed to do my first rings muscle up at home! my max is 3 because at that point, i feel some discomfort from my elbows which doesn't cause a lot of pain but makes me worried about injuring myself if i push myself too hard. Definitely will be doing the rehab exercises you talked about in the past. These videos really are a huge help 🙏
@GymnasticsMethod3 жыл бұрын
Wow, congrats! A little pain in the beginning can be normal, just keep it gradual and do warm-up and prehab before practice.

This is the best muscle up comparison and breakdown video that I’ve ever seen. The ring muscle up is my goal, so I’m always on the lookout for training tips from KZbin. Btw, I also subscribed and joined GymnasticsMethod membership program. Thank you for your dedication to honesty and providing a high quality, yet achievable, approach to training.

Can you please let me know if the program is worth it? I'm a beginner and I'm trying to find a program that is helpful
@ryanmaravilla13383 жыл бұрын
@@ryanfieldflower602 I think his training method is very smart and, more important, safe. He definitely emphasizes warmup and prehab to avoid injury. It’s a marathon, not a race, yet achievable if you put in the work. Meaning, It’s not a quick program if you’re aspiring to accomplish some of the toughest calisthenics moves. You can try the most basic program for free, or you can simply subscribe on a monthly basis (which averages to just over $1 per day) to access all of the content.

I'm psyched that I finally found some bars to fully practice muscle ups. I've been looking all summer. My gym has bars but no room to go up and over. All outside bars have been removed (liability reasons?) or shortened for children. Your muscle ups are so smooth with no kipping. I'd be thrilled to get up and over with a small kip. I'll watch some of your muscle up videos next. Thanks.

Ring Muscle Up requires a good false grip, but besides that, a slow ring muscle up is very easy. For bar muscle up I lack the explosive stenght to get my chest high enough above the bar, but with all those great tutorials, there is no wayout that I can't start working on the explosive bar pull ups to get my first muscle up on bars!

False grip was such a challenge to me that I had to go for bar first. I was able to do a somewhat strict one in bar but I’m basically working on weighted and high pull-ups atm to get the silky smooth muscle up. I guess I should really work on that false grip but last time My wrist hurt a lot and I don’t get that with the bar 🤔

Bro I don’t know if I do support holds wrong on gymnastic rings, but they press against the back of forearm and leave me bruises on it. Is it normal?
@GymnasticsMethod3 жыл бұрын
Yes it can happen. You can do it with no bruises if you really pay attention but it happens most of the time. Long sleeves can be a solution!

@@GymnasticsMethod thank you for replying. When you say if you pay attention, does this mean that you can do the support holds without the back of your forearm touching the rings?
