When We're Human - CRYP07 Animatic

This animatic features my OCs, Levi, Modeus, and Lucer. They're my personal iteration of MY 7 deadly sins, and Levi represents Envy, Modeus is Lust, and Lucer is Pride. The other four are present in the video, but only briefly.
Anyway, I got a momentary spark of motivation thinking about how much of an awful person I am, and I watched too much Nanatsu no Taizai last weekend, so here come my sins! And I've had the Princess and the Frog soundtrack on loop the past week so, haha. I thought it fits. (Also shoutout to Jaiden Animations and TheOdd1sOut I LOVE YOU GUYS)
As you can see, I didn't use Animate CC to make this animatic this time. I dunno, I felt like I was limiting myself to Animate, and don't get me wrong, the results of using it is AMAZING because of all the tweening and nesting animation and stuff, but I found it to be a huge chore to do EVERYTHING in there, so I went back to my roots of drawing each frame in a drawing program and putting them together in Sony Vegas. I spent like an entire day rewatching old animatics to try and figure out what made them work and HOW I was churning them out so fast. Like, what was their charm?? HOW did I do that?
So I'm a little rusty with it, but I had fun with this. Like, SO much fun. Of course it took me more than 2 days to make this but the end result made it all worth it. I have a lot of OCs that don't get drawn much so... This is self indulgence. Self care. Hush now.

I like how their animals appeared. Envy is an endless cycle of being unsatisfied so the snake did a loop. Lust is fleeting and quick and never reliable or constant so the goat sped by. Pride is large, unmoving and forever constant so the lion just stood there and looked at us.

Oh my gosh, watching through this, everything makes sense for what they can do, and what they have! Levi, being Envy, is an artist, he tries to recreate what he sees others have in his drawings. Modeus is a shapeshifter, able to take the form of whatever would let them woo the people around them (Also, they can play music? Might have just been a joke, but that also makes sense considering musicians are seen to be able to get partners), and Pride's a very formal person, wearing a suit, and her general personality. This is just amazing! You put so much amazing work into these characters!

I like how Asmodeus has a deceivingly cute aesthetic/face. I kind of feel like it ties into the different interpretations of lust, specifically the one where Lust is simply the over-love of something; Humans often love cute things and feel the desire to protect and care for them, and this can be taken to both passive and aggressive extremes (enabling negative behaviors vs becoming controlling towards/over the cute individual, both in the name of Love in some form). With Asmodeus, people probably tend to fall on the passive end of this extreme, which is most likely advantageous for him.
