Da teilen wir die gleiche Leidenschaft! Ich habe Deinen Kanal vor ca. einem 1 bis 2 Jahren entdeckt und bin begeistert! Well done - listen to Vinyl! Rock On!

Great tour, Armien. Awesome TT you got there; and now ev'rything to Duisburg: happy movement:) Das Ruhrgebiet!! man, a lot, a lot of vinyl-retailers to choose from, over there. Vinyl-heaven... Thanks for this footage, great.
@AudiophileLaws9 жыл бұрын
Hello Dorka, thanks for watching! I am still moving all the stuff but the record collection is already back in the shelves. I am glad that everything arrived safe. Carrying all those records was a real pain. You know the Ruhrgebiet? May I ask where you are from? It's true - there are so many record stores here. I can't wait to check them all out :) Armien

AudiophileLaws Vinyl records are heavy as water. That counted for the 120/140 grams period, and now even more. I remember appearance Led Zeppelin III in 1970. It had a blue kind of stamp on it: Atlantic DeLuxe. It costed NLG21,90, which was astronomical for us schoolboys, and when I finally had saved and worked the money together for it, I bought the item. It was with the maroon/ plum colored label, and it was thin. SO thin that the result could be compared to a rollercoaster/ fruitbowl configuration. NOTHING De Luxe in that respect. The addition DeLuxe may have been so for the sleeve, but certainly NOT for the vinyl. Was disappointing experience with Atlantic. Got rid of it, and, oh, it was the British issue, 'cause I remember the Great Britain on its label. Hoi!!
@dorkadezso58269 жыл бұрын
AudiophileLaws Oh, and here is some info you may find interesting. I owe three very old MoFi S.L. vinyls from their start (end 70's begin 80's), Little Feat "Waiting For Columbus", and Grateful Dead "American Beauty". Guess how much they weigh?!? 107 g., 114 g., and 119 g. Way before the 180/ 200 period, Armien. I bought them around 1980. Hoi!!
@dorkadezso58269 жыл бұрын
AudiophileLaws It must have been 1968 or 1969, young and rediculous. I went to my local vinyl-retailer and immediately went for The Doors selection, to see if anything new. And there was a new one: "Live From The Whisky-A-Go-Go". Listened to it in the store with those ancient two seperate "telephones" on each ear. "But this is in MONO" I exclaimed, and didn't buy it, since we just had a brand-new Grundig stereo-set at home. DIDN'T BUY IT!!??!! That record must be worth a fortune, today. As I wrote, young and rediculous.

Hi Amber, oh yes I am already counting the days but moving with all the records will be some "great fun". I tried various boxes to make sure to have the best possible protection. Thanks for watching! Have a good sunday :) Armien
@nodbor19 жыл бұрын
AudiophileLaws I moved 2000 LPs using 34 boxes that measured 16 inches across by 12 inches wide by 12 inches tall. People here in the USA know what I mean when I say that I bought the boxes at Home Depot. The boxes only cost about 3 for 1 US dollar three years ago. It was fun and I had to beat the on coming ran as it was in an uncover truck bed. Three trips later at one hour each they were safe and sound in my house and still dry. Someday I will put them back in the order that they need to be in per my filling preferences. Also, someday, someday, I will post videos of my records here at KZbin. This I promise.

Really cool set up. One thing you should really consider doing if sound is important to you is to treat the room some. You can put up some absorption behind the speakers and to the sides which are your first reflections. Bass traps in the corners of the room will also help improve your sound. Hope the move went well and thanks for sharing. Cheers from USA :)

Hi Carsten, thanks for the kind words! The second system is mainly for watching movies and some televison. I am using a 5.0 Setup. German speakers called Nubert and some easy Sony electronics. Since I am moving soon I decided to put my B&W in the box already and took the Nubert speakers for the vinyl setup. The differences are really interesting - I would always go with the B&W although they are even cheaper. Have a good week buddy! Armien

Hey buddy, just wondering why you have no room treatment at all? Some foam to catch early reflections on the back and side walls will make a bigger difference than any piece of gear you can add. +Anthony Burt That's a good question! In real life I didn't have that many problems. It was more the cheap microphone of the Iphone causing the sound. I have only 70-80 CDs and it troubles me sometimes to look for a CD that I want to listen to. if I had 1,700 LPs like you, it would literally kill me to find the one I want. you must have some special way of arranging them I supposse. by the way, love your speakers :)

Hi AudiophileLaws, I really love your videos! I have a simple question, I recently started collecting records and would like to upgrade my system (LP player). Im currently using an old Aristona pickup with a tube amp and was wondering, whats a good budget vintage/new LP player you could recommend?
@AudiophileLaws9 жыл бұрын
MrOnlyfacts Great to hear that you started collecting records! Upgrading the hifi system will always bring a lot more fun while listening. It really depends on how much money you want to spend. I would recommend to get a new turntable since vintage ones often has damages or parts that need to be replaced. The cheapest entry level would be a U-Turn turntable. It can be found for 179$ in the US. Another good option would be a Pro Ject turntable. They sound good and can be upgraded in the future. If you want to spend more there are some other great models by Rega, Clearaudio or Marantz. Thanks for watching - let me know if you have other questions :) Armien
@MrOnlyfacts9 жыл бұрын
AudiophileLaws Thanks for the reply! Never thought I would hear from you lol :P My current turntable plays fine but I just got my vacation allowance from my job and have some extra cash I can spend. Thanks for the recommendations, I'll be on the look out for those models if they're on sale this summer. Whats your opinion on receivers/amps? And would the type of genre I listen to be heavily influenced by the receiver and amp? I saw a few second hand Marantz and Onkyo's receivers/amps at a pawnshop close to my house and was wondering if I would be better off with a new one or if I would be fine with a second hand one. (I mostly listen to music with headphones) Thanks for your time! Greetings from The Netherlands

(van mindere kwaliteit) You should take a look at maarktplaats.nl. There are various good and solid models for sale. I would recommend to get a new turntable, a used amp and since you said that you are listening with headphones mostly you are ready to go. If you only use headphones you could even think about getting an own headphone amp. Sorry for my bad dutch :D I only learned it three years in school but most of it is gone now.... Armien

AudiophileLaws Thanks for the reply Armien! Haha jouw nederlands is ontzettend goed voor iemand die maar 3 jaar les heeft gehad. Ich habe drei jahren deutsch auf schule gehat (?) und meiner Deutsch ist sehr schlect haha. Funny that you know of marktplaats btw.Not many Germans I know have heard of marktplaats. I will definitely be on the look out for Marantz amps but your suggestion is also very good, I'll be also on the look out for a headphone amp :) Still a shame that so many records in Holland tend to overpriced compared to the german markets :( The minimal price for Steely dan records are at least 10 euros.

My grew up near the dutch border in Aken. My parents still live there. Limburg is a really expensive area for vinyl indeed. I once made some great scores at a huge flea market in Maastricht but most of the stores in Heerlen are very expensive. Goog luck with finding a nice amp! Take your time :) Armien

that is so very nice all around for you. are you going to sell your records on the world market so we can buy them from you?
@AudiophileLaws9 жыл бұрын
Haha if I would sell some it would be definitely a lot easier to move all this stuff from one place to another. I need to think about it :D Thanks for watching! Armien

Nice system. Allthough it seems to me that the turntable outmatches the rest of the system. I guess it's one thing at a time.

Kulumuli Some parts of the system are about to change but actually everything plays perfect together.

Nice video. Lovely Clearaudio Turntable, always been impressed by the platter. Also thinking of upgrading to a Maestro V2-cartridge at some point.

Oh yes, the Maestro V2 is a great cartridge. I tried various other ones before I bought it. It sounds so open and fresh! Thanks for watching :) Armien

Hi where did you get your record and CD shelves please? Fantastic set up.

Do you have any advice on transporting vinyl? I am worried about moisture affecting my records when I take them outside and put them in a moving truck.
@AudiophileLaws8 жыл бұрын
oh yes moving with vinyl is a real pain in the ass. I decided to use normal cardboard transport boxes. all records arrived safe but I was really careful with them.

i watch alot of vinyl youtubers and none of them seem to have a subwoofer. Is it something you dont need if speakers are good enough? I just have 2 little polk bookshelf speakers and I thought they sounded very tinny so i went out and bought a sub and now i like it alot more. i'm new to all this btw

Move the power cables from the speakers cables that they do not touch each other
