It's telling how many experienced vocal coaches are moved to tears by this performance even without the subtitles. It's as close to a religious experience as you can have on KZbin. I'm not a believer myself but watching her perform I'm struck by how wonderfully she communicates the joy she associates with her relationship to God. Her existence is a great argument that I may in fact be wrong.

This is a famous gospel song. She killed this legendary song in Korea with her own way. I'm a buddhist but truly love her pure and beautiful soul, respect her sincere faith in God. EVERYONE is my favorite song from So Hyang at the moment. I just discovered So Hyang for myself a few months ago. It felt like someone had given me a very special gift. So Hyang is obviously blessed and anointed. I will watch any video with QUEEN So Hyang in it. Thank you for your reactions.

Good to see you back reacting to Sohyang. This performance is a true masterpiece of vocal technique and emotion. She took us on an emotional rollercoaster journey. Sohyang is unique; putting aside her phenomenal technical prowess, she has this ability to touch your soul every time she sings, like no other vocalist (for me at least). Thanks for sharing your heartfelt reaction. It was not until I came to know Sohyang, that I humbly learned that music can attain its completion not by the work itself, but with the life of the one who delivers. Painted flowers have no scent and no doubt her music is nothing of the kind. Her music is no fake. Along with her life true to her message, her music is full of real fragrance. I believe that's why this song has such an impact and touches our heart.

There are quite a few videos of her singing emotional soft to powerful songs giving one teary eyes, but if you are interested in another side of her, upbeat, joyful, fast I recommend “Day Day” (the group performance on stage for Begin Again 2020) or from the same day the “Marvin Gaye” duet with Henry (only on vimeo). It’s so cute how she looks at Henry 😊. You can see the whole group is having fun.

So Hyang only picks songs where the lyrics are close to her, so they are a very importent part of her songs, its kind of sad to see that so many dont care to even make a search for eng subs, beacuse they all have it, Just do a search on You Tube or google and it will come up several eng sub versions. According to Kim, So Hyang , her goal is to use her voice to comfort people who are going through difficult times ***WHEN Kim So Hyang Sung "Raise Me Up"............ Kim, So Hyang has always struggled with her health during her lifetime with those many illnesses.. uterine cancer, hepatitis, chronic pneumonia, etc.. great reaction but you missed the message that sohayng wanted to deliver through lyrics, though her emotion is well presented in Korean. If you react to her Korean performances in the future, you may find a video clip from Vimeo instead of youtube. There are more English subtitle ones.
