Same here. I’m very concerned not only for them but their countrymen. I hope we hear from Jinjer soon. I know they’re supposed to be in the US with Slipknot and In This Moment this coming few months. I have been traveling and hoping to get tickets for their April 1st performance as I missed all of their (Jinjer’s) performances last year. I hope they are good and able to get out of Ukraine. Excellent reaction as always. Really happy you enjoyed this. It’s one of my favorite videos of theirs. A lot of ppl like the one from Kiev which I do but I still prefer this one.

It's through their music and interviews that i've come to understand the situation in Ukraine. The developments of the last 48 or so hours have been heartbreaking and like you, I wish them and all their fellow Ukrainians nothing but the fondest of wishes and the most heartfelt love. Peace, love and harmony. 💕

Dude. Gotta say I love yer reactions - so great to hear someone who knows WHY this band is so great tell it like it is. Meanwhile, so glad you did this one!! I always call this song part of the "unholy trinity of mayhem" which if you listen to KOE (King of Everything) starting with "Sit.Stay.Rollover.", followed directly by "Under the Dome", followed then by "Dip a Sail", with no pause between these three songs, well, you'll feel like you've been thrown from a speeding train in a tunnel. Absolute mayhem. And Under the Dome is one of few songs Tati sings only growls on (with some chant); no cleans. Anyways, give it a try sometime! And to show my appreciation for your work here's a treat for you - the core of Jinjer's nuclear reactor, the man himself, Roman playing Sit Stay Rollover guitar play-thru. Enjoy! And Peace to Ukraine! kzbin.info/www/bejne/anaUfZqBqNGarpY

This video was produced before they were signed by Napalm Records (this video lead to their signing...) so I image the budget for this video was less than their newer videos which could account for the production compromises. It is a special day (indeed) when I find you have released a new reaction...

Everything you said about the production of this album, especially when it comes to the drums, is not just your opinion, it's mine too. Kim wasn't a full band member and they probably let him have the production he wanted for the drums to avoid conflicts (i.e sample replacement and grid alignement) because they needed to put out an album and they needed a drummer for the album tour until they found a permanent replacement. I've always wondered if the reason why there are no videos of him playing these songs live it's because they didn't sound nearly as good as on the album, so they chose not to record and/or release them. That's the biggest difference regarding Vlad's "era": the songs are created to be recorded but they're made in a way that they also have to work very well live. There's always a bit more production in the studio versions, of course, but they can even carry some of that studio production into a live setting and make it work as well. My first contact with Jinjer was also the Pisces live session and Vlad's work also caught my attention for being not what you'd "expect" from a modern Metal band (feel and production wise), so I was kind of disappointed when I started listening to the rest of the album songs, recorded by Kim, and found the same type of generic drum sounds that over time had made me stop listening to 99% of modern Metal. It sounds like a programmed drum machine, tight, always in time but flat and soulless, and that's why I prefer all the live versions of the King of Everything songs with Vlad rather than the studio versions. When the Micro EP was released, I read many comments hating on Vlad's snare sound and his overall drum sound because those people were expecting a follow up to King of Everything. I, for one, was expecting more "Pisces live session" style of drumming, so I loved his raw, organic, human sound. And Roman's guitar sound on Macro made me love them even more! 🙂

I used to have malamutes & I honestly think my beginnings of my growling & gutterals were from telling them off for like digging a 2m damn den in the yard 🤣 Tatiana has just the best growls & screams. I think my first intro to women being able to do it was actually one of my mates. I had heard the recording but didn't realise who it was until I saw them live & I was like "woah damn" cos Jess could pull a Courtney & go from screams to cleans. This song actually has 2 different guitarists in this studio recording, Both Roman and Dmitry Oksen (their previous 2nd guitarist) were involved in the recording of this album so the guitar tones are are a mix of the 2 of them. Dmitry left the band before they started recording music videos for the album which is why he's absent. This is also why Roman can break out into a lead part in the middle of the song, because it's written and recorded for 2 guitarists. Though if I were guessing, I'd bet that's actually Dmitry's lead part from the album that Roman is just "playing" for the video. Seems like more of a Dmitry tappy, tappy part.
@stangcobra5922 жыл бұрын
Nice JW 👍This track is a more straightforward thrashing riff track, but King of E does have more intricate layered guitar sounds, fullness etc.. in different songs. It's a Great piece of work give it a chance you've only done Pisces, Astronomy and this.And yeah Dmitry is a beast this was 2016, he's even better now, I enjoy watching his drum playthroughs on youtube. Jinjer has been giving updates on their Instagram, they haven't divulged where they actually are, I'm thinking their all here in the US, Tati has been posting a lot of LA photos with her husband Alex of Suicide Silence. Plus their opening for Slipknot on shows very soon. Ukraine didn't ask for this it's terrible!

Sorry I am late to see your reaction mate, but as you have heard it is a seriously intense song, also I heard Tati in an interview stating that this song is about their nextdoor neighbors, along with two empires collide, and also now the song home back has a lot more relevance to this situation.PS Eugene has put out a short statement on their channel.

Late to the party on this reaction, but I agree wholeheartedly that the newer Jinjer tracks need you to work more as a listener. The older songs are amazing and on my first listen they range probably between a 7 to 9 out of 10 with a small .5 to 1 notch gained on subsequent listens. The last 2 records I'd say they can sometimes start at a lower score, but increase multiple times on secondary listens. Basically, I'm saying that the newer tracks have an overall higher ceiling and it is difficult to catch all the complexities the first time through, leading to the belief that I'm not sure I like it at first even though all the elements are present.

They performed this song in their live in Melbourne concert, it has it's own video so maybe on your free time you can check it out. Vlad plays it pretty much the same as Dmitry, of course he has some slight differences, but it sounds pretty close to this.
