I became a fan cause of anna murphy, I loved her in this band. but unfortunately they had a massive lineup change in the past and she left aswell. tho she started a new band called "cellar darling". the guy on the mandolin is the actual lead singer, but I prefered the female vocals more.

Greetings! That is the "softer" side of Eluveitie. They're usually heavier, but seeing the other bands you react to I think you will also like their heavy side. And, they also do purely acoustic folk, if that was not enough. Their theme is about Gaulish history, culture and mythology. Lots of their melodies are based on traditional Celtic folk tunes, and some of their songs are even written in Gaulish. One last thing before a few recommendations, avoid live videos for them. From my own experience, as well as some friends and many other people on the internet, Eluveitie are great when playing live, but for some reasons professionally recorded live videos always make them sound awful. Even the videos from big and popular festivals, the audio mix is always terrible (even phone recordings from the crowd are, most of the time, better quality). ​@@JimGames Definitely a sound engineer's nightmare. I can imagine the face of the sound guys when they see "Eluveitie" on the lineup! What's weird is that the balance is good through the speakers for the crowd, but the recordings have balance issues. Usually it's the opposite, but for Eluveitie crowd videos are generally better (although full of saturation because phone mics and loud music don't get along very well, but at least the mix is better) than "professional" live videos. It's a bit sad because it can dissuade people from seeing them live, expecting it to sound bad like in most live videos you can find.

Absolutely love this song. "Eluveitie" is a Swiss band and their name means "The Helvetian" in the language of the Celtic people, the "Gauls". The Helvetii people lived in the area of what would roughly be Switzerland today.

So I don't want to offend anyone now, but that's not a cover, right? That should be an original right? I'm very sure that the intro and the corus is copied from another song. Maybe slightly modified. Unfortunately, I can't get to the title either. It sounds extremely familiar to me.

This is one of their songs without the harsh vocals (which I'm not a fan of), but this song is beautiful. The singer, Anna Murphy, is no longer with them, but is with a group called Cellar Darling, which you might want to check out if you like this. It is more folk metal like Eluveitie.
