I've always liked the 68 come back special he was so nervous he wasn't sure if his fans would forget him. Steve binder said that elvis changed his mind and said he couldn't go out on stage. They told him you need to just go out there and give it your best shot and he did and it was the best performance he ever did. It definitely was a comeback for him. And he looked so handsome and did amazing

We hadn't seen Presley sweat, look this astonishingly good, being this unhinged & animalistic since the mid-50's ... this 1968 'unplugged' segment singlehandedly rebooted the world into seeing & hearing the bold talent, the true rock 'n roll spirit, the authentic raw musicianship, that was Elvis... He tried sticking with this spirit on his first return to Vegas in '69, also wearing black btw... however, the Marvel Comic Superhero in White & encrusted jewels would soon emerge, genius no doubt, but also pull him back into an untouchable orbit... the universe savors this moment eternally... Has anyone ever been this gorgeous!?! Billy Idol?

One of the interesting facts about that special was the series of meetings that took place over the course of months before that show in an upstairs office on the Sunset Strip near the Whiskey A Go-Go where he would arrive in disguise as other legendary rockers of the 60's were performing in those clubs along the Strip at that time. Just a cool juxtaposition to imagine artists like The Doors or Hendrix maybe playing a gig on the same block or very nearby totally unaware of Elvis being right there as he had to travel incognito back then.

He never recorded a song called "It's No Or Never." In the 70s he reprised many of his past hits from the 50s. In my estimation he improved on the originals in many, not all, cases. In 1972 he recorded "Young And Beautiful." It was certainly better than the 1958 version. His original recording of "All Shook Up" was kind of lame. He kicked it into life in 1968, 1969 and 1970. In his Comeback Special he reprised "Love Me Tender." It was superior to the 1956 version. There are more examples if you would do your homework.

Strange you should say that because many thought his voice was even getting better. It is something he discussed with his fiancee Ginger Alden and Elvis also thought he was sounding better. I do believe had he not died he would have continued on for years, especially with the help and love of what was suppose to be his wife Ginger Alden. They were deeply in love.

I think his voice got tired and rough. There were a lot of rehearsals bringing this whole show together. I own this entire DVD and I believe he comments on his voice a few times throughout the taping. The voice actually goes with the look (which for me being female) is perfection. 'Trying to get to you' oder auch die Stand-up Versionen. Ansonsten: Suspicious Minds Live '70 You've lost that loving Live '70 'In the Ghetto' ( in diesem Fall finde ich die Studioversion besser) Oder auch ' I can't stop loving you ' aus dem Aloha Konzert, kurz aber 'deftig'. 🎶h
