I love Matt. Whilst a bass such as Avi was really hard, if not impossible to replace, they absolutely smashed it. They didn't choose a stupidly low bass, they chose a stupidly good bass.

This was the one that completely cured my, “But I miss Avi so muuuuuch!” energy. Matt really brings a lot to the table and they utilized his punchier tone so well in this.

Exactly! I was listening to a podcast with Ben brahm and he mentioned that when they started for Avi, it was for big, bellowing basso profundity etc. but for may- it’s more rhythm bass- like a bass guitar. Which I personally think is more towards their pop style. Which is why he really fits well with them

Fantastic reaction! Those arpeggiated bell tones are magnificent! Matt’s bass drop at 6:01 *chef’s kiss* Filmed in a NY penthouse when Kirstin was doing her Broadway show!

Please, react to 'La La Latch' by them, it's one of their best arrangements ever! Thank you.

Thanks for explaining the difference between how Avi and Matt sound. Makes sense.

This was one of the first videos to feature Matt after he had become a full-time member (he'd been in a couple of earlier videos, but was still a part-timer at that point). This was shot while Kirstie was doing her Broadway stint in Kinky Boots, thus the New York skyline. I've heard a rumor that this was the apartment that was provided to her by the producers of the play during her time there. NICE DIGS!! No wonder she loved it there so much!!

I will always watch your PTX reactions because you actually notice things and explain stuff. Thank you for doing that. Your knowledge is amazing. Big thanks for acknowledging Matt’s abilities. I’m tired of folks not appreciating him. He has added so much to PTX.

True! Can you imagine Avi in Butter x Dynamite? Lol! I think Matt really struggled to be accepted and recognized. It was a hard climb but with his talent, nothing is impossible. He is so nice too and just gets away from any drama.

You're probably too young to remember, but the bass and percussion line is Timbaland's from "Are You That Somebody," thankfully without the screaming baby. It worked really well with "New Rules."

Ben said that they DO layer, but NOT as much as you'd think they do. I'd like to hear this the difference between one that is layered & one that isn't - both compared to live performances of each song. Would be interesting to hear. JMO

this is one of my absolute favorite PTX songs. Matt completely kills it with the bass and it's the song where I started to actually fall in love with him lol I love your in-depth analysis on the PTX songs. more please! haha

I thought you'd like this one! I think it's one of their most sophisticated arrangements, and Matt and Kevin were just off the hook.

This was Matt's introduction video, which is why they stripped it down to the beginning to show the new song before adding the production.

I don't think you've done their mashup of La La Latch...if you did, I didn't see it in your PTX playlist. You should check it out! I also don't think you've done their cover of Making Christmas. You should also do that one. :)

I loved Matt's bass, too. I've listened to their almost 200 songs many many times, including this one, and as I'm sure you know, the more you listen/view the song/video the more you pick up. Great first reaction. I like their "bell tones", too. I can't spell arpegios (Sp?). Thank you for continuing to go through their catalog.

Then why do you bother watching reactions? People shouldn't wait until the end, reacting IN THE MOMENT. If you want to hear the song, watch the original... Plus, it's to avoid copyright. smh
