There is a very short documentary ANGELINA JORDAN 10 YEARS IN THE MAKING. that shows Angelina singing with a mike as an 18 months old baby, but also her Vegas shows this Spring. Angelina snapped up a venue cancellation at the place Elvis did his residency. Despite the short notice fans flew in from all over the world to sell out both the morning and evening show. Over these two shows she sang approx 40 songs. She is a powerhouse. She keeps getting better.

Another spell was cast by 9yo Angelina. Let’s analyze the video: 1st you see how small and cute she is. 2nd you see she is barefoot (story below) 3rd You see her making her “Wish List” of suggested changes to the song. 4th the band leader taking note of the changes. 5th Angelina is holding a candle with “Screemin’ Jay Hawkin’s (original artist 1956) picture on it. 6th the old soul in her voice. She is the youngest published author in Norway. Angelina wrote and her Grandmother illustrated a book about why she sings barefoot. She was on a trip to Iran where her grandmother is from and met a street girl weighing people for money. Angelina sat and talked with the girl. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, a doctor but that it could never happen. Angelina told her to never give up hope. The girl complimented Angelina on her shoes and Angelina noticed her scarred bare feet so she gave them to her, and the little girl told Angelina she would pray for her every day. Angelina sings barefoot to this day to remind herself (and the world) that there are still children in need. All book proceeds go to charity.

She's a 'vocal chameleon' who is able to adjust her vocals to capture any form of singing she desires. This orchestra referred to her as 'The Boss', for she was in total control from start to finish, and at 9 years old, that alone is insane. Add to it her actual performance, that paid respect to the rendition by Screamin' Jay Hawkins', which brought her own style of how to present the song to the fore, and you quickly realize she has no limitations vocally.

Angelina was 9 years old in this performance - Her nationality is Norwegian but is fluent in English even at this age - This song was not arranged for her - she wrote the vocal arrangement based on listening to the original Screamin' Jay Hawkins version and communicated to the band how she wanted it to be played - in fact, at the beginning of the video you see Angelina writing down some last-minute changes and it is read by the bandleader. You also notice that her own handwritten notes are on the music stand in front of her as she sings. For more insight into how Angelina works, here is a rehearsal video with some of the same band members at the same age (9 yrs old) - You will see that she is aware of what each musician is doing and communicates to them what she wants to do. The first thing she says is that she wants to start, followed by her saying she wants to start over, later she tells the pianist that the key is too low and that she wants to raise it a half-tone, then at the end of the song she changes the ending on the fly. Angelina's shock and awe performance as a 9yr old never fails lol and yes she did the vocal arrangement, the notes written on the paper were her wishes for last minute changes. Excellent that you know about Screaming Jay Hawkins 👍 Being flabbergasted is the standard reaction: her voice and her looks are so totally different 😂 If you want to see her most recent work, check 'If I were a boy' as a cover or 'Bad Valentine' as an original. For future reaction, I would recommend first her latest pre-release of a new single with Toby Gad, Grammy award-winning composer and producer. It is called Bad Valentine and was performed just in the past few weeks. One of my favorite covers a couple of years ago is Suspicious Minds in the studio. And finally, several months ago, Unchained Melody at the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo. After one or more of those, I would go back to the very beginning, Norway's Got Talent when she was introduced to the world.

Nice reaction, guys. Angelina's biggest influence was Billy Holiday, and she's been listening to jazz on youtube since she was three years old. She's been quoted as saying that her mom tried to get her to sing children's songs, and she would have none of that. For the most part, Angelina is self-taught. Although she did take classes on music theory so she could reconstruct her music. Within the last year, Angelina has released an EP "Old Enough", sang "Unchained Melody " at the Nobel Peace Prize, did a remarkable cover of "If I Were a Boy" and sang an unreleased new song "Bad Valentine" at a Jazz Cafe. Angelina began her career at 7 singing classic jazz songs on Norway's Got Talent (which she won). I'm 72 years old and she was singing music from my father's generation and giving them her own special touch. Her entire vocal development is available on KZbin (over 200 videos) and it is a master class in vocal development. She is a unique and amazing talent. You guys saw her at 9 here, about 9 years ago, singing in Norway, her native country, where most young also learn English. At this point, she had already won 'Norway's Got Talent' on their TV and impressed everyone, including top political figures who decided to support her with assets like bands and venues. Though a very young child when she began 'giving performances', unlike most, she has continued her interest in music, even 'doubling down' by declaring determination to become a 'world entertainer'. She has an exceptionally mature voice, far beyond her years and began learning early Jazz from the 50s and 60s such as Billie Holliday, even as a virtual infant. At this time, she is a signed artist at Republic Records and lives in Los Angeles with her family. She was only 9 years old when she performed this song. It is her tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, an American singer/songwriter. He wrote and performed it in 1956 and Angelina based her performance on the original, although she did make some subtle alterations to both lyrics and melody. As you continue your journey of discovering Angelina, you will come to realise that she does her own arrangements of most of the cover songs she sings. The differences may not be immediately discernible on first listening to them, but they are there. Angelina has trained herself watching the greats of the golden age of JAZZ and today's contemporary JAZZ artists, Angelina makes all her own arrangements as you saw in the video, and has since the age of 6. Fabulous reaction my friends. This is Angelina at 9 years old as you can witness. She was so so mature and can deliver an iconic song with such soulful vocals. It's uncanny. I think what most people find amazing is that the visual does not match the audioOn this video you see a little child, but the voice is so so professional. This is the video that's set most vocal coaches ablaze with their comments and couldn't believe that a little child like this can produce and mimic such tremendous sounds. As Angelina did in this video. She actually arranged this video with the studio musicians and gave her own take on what she wanted it to sound like. This is how good she was at that age. If you want to hear Angelina now, I would suggest maybe two or three songs that she's just recently released. Just to give you an idea how great she sounds now. She is collaborating with Toby Gad the great songwriter producer in. It was his single that Beyonce recorded years ago called " If I were a Boy " and I would suggest you do the one that she did in the church Cathedral with Toby and Angela ; piano cello accompaniment because it's so so heartwarming and so wonderful to hear her mature voice. Great reaction. Yes Angelina wrote the notes to the musical director - changes to the musical arrangement. You might have noticed that she was holding a pen and reading notes on the music stand. She would often make running changes, crossing out some things and adding new ideas, a true musical artist. She wanted to highlight the classical elements of the song, for example, the call response from the old gospel style, the origins of the blues. Angelina has no fear, she will take on anything and deliver a truly emotional and passionate rendition...

Before you've even pressed "play" in this reaction, I feel compelled to come to the comments and warn you: be careful about reading too much into "stylistic" differences you hear between her performances at different ages. It's tempting once you've heard 2 or 3 things from her to draw conclusions of the form: "When she was younger, she , but when she got older, she ". The more of her stuff you hear, the more it will become clear that she has always "mixed it up" quite a bit, and sung very different songs in very different ways at basically every age (but especially since she was 10). One generalization that does tend to hold up is that she covered more "classics" (i.e., pre-'60s jazz and pop) when she was younger and has chosen more recent songs and genres as she has gotten older. (And her originals have more or less "tracked" with that overall trend, as well.) And, of course, the sound of her voice, per se, has matured greatly over the years, with four "eras" being relatively easy to identify just "by ear": before 8, 8 to around 10½, 10½ to around 16, and 16 to the present. Other people might choose slightly different division points, but there's no denying that somehwere around those ages her voice matured in very noticeable ways.

Angelina has accessed some sort of portal. this Norwegian 9 year old grasping , not only the meaning, but the rawness of the experience behind the words. She’s definitely tapped into ethers of another place and time. She did this song in one take! I really like her take on “IF I WERE A BOY”.
