@johnsmith-ug5tp22 күн бұрын
Yes he joked and said, yes its true, all those beautiful locks of blond hair are all gone and wont be coming back. haha His hair loss is probably due to stress. His career tanked, he caught his scumbag longtime girlfriend cheating on him in the Bahamas, and then she had the gall to sue him for money and Peter had to hired an attorney, his manager ripped him off, he was walking the streets of LA looking for session work in the 80s, His childhood friend DAvid Bowie felt so bad for him he offered him a job touring with him as his guitarist and then what money he had left and made touring with Bowie he lost in the stock market crash of 87. His hair was showing signs of thinning and he was teasing it up for the Bowie tour. Gotta give Peter credit, Through it all he still manages to have a smile on his face and laughs it off.

As a black guy, the fur on my head maintains my body heat, baby. I’ll do something to keep my fur. If I can do it gracefully. Otherwise, I’ll gather my hair-keeping scientists and take it from there. Until things work themselves out, it’s back to the damn ball cap or something. Good thing my genetics have never commanded flowing, blowing in the wind, as the “answer.” I remember my friend from Soundgarden, Hiro, mentioning Kim Thyl losing his hair. We are in ideal times for not witnessing strangers gawking. So much is now sort of odd with hair having very unnatural color or people are going through chemo treatments. I think commercials, promoting hair products, influence many to feel bad about hair loss. The hair product models always are showing fantastic hair. Just an aside re how far we’ve come with acceptance: while cleaning out my grandmothers chest of drawers, I found a tiny book probably printed when the printing press was newly invented, and the title of the book was about a woman’s hair being her most important asset!

Don't forget Alex Lifeson - he's had the yamaka rug for at least 15 years. And Keith Urban. He's not a rocker but he's been wearing the same wig for decades. There's some interview with him back in the '90s in AUS and he started balding early.

There's a video of Alex from high school days, sitting around the dining room table with his parents. He definitely inherited his father's hair genes, but I've no idea whose musical genes he inherited, obviously a genius. Link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g2qaaHp8h7x3o7s

Paul wears a wig at all times. He has his "everyday wig" with the grey streaks to make it look authentic, and his wig that he wears onstage.

Wig wearer here 🙌 I have a liver condition called Gilberts Syndrome and it's made my hair shed like crazy around the temples. As the liver issue is genetic and non life threatening it can't be medicated so I'm stuck with the shedding, some days I show it off, other days I wear head bands to cover my hairline or if I'm going somewhere I'll wig up 🙌 it's like being the master of disguise

@@Katie_Woo I think the most convincing look is what you're most comfortable with. I've seen men as well as women with some great (and natural) looking wigs, whereas I personally prefer fancy caps.

Andy Scott of Sweet.. I saw them live not long ago and he made a point of the fact it's his own hair with a band member jokingly tugging on it. Why would he make a point if it wasn't his own? It's a crazy style to choose if It was fake( for his age) right??

My dude, don't let people body shame you. I've been losing my hair since I was 21. Don't hide that shit, man. Be proud of it. Ditch the hat indoors (you need it outdoors, UV rays suck).

Sadly it's a whole different thing when it's women. Jim Jeffries (Australian comedian) has talked about this. He pointed out that when women wear wigs they are just "having a bit of fun", but when a man does it he has to keep it secret. Wigs for everyone, or wigs for no one was his idea.
@lidbassАй бұрын
@@woopimagpie He's right, but I think it's also partly because women seem to have better taste when to comes to wigs. Or perhaps they just have more choice...

I think it's ridiculous that society shames guys for wearing wigs. Losing your hair is just an unfortunate thing you can't do anything about, but it completely changes the way you look. Especially when you're some kind of public persona, managing your appearance is just an important part of it all. What's wrong with doing something about it. Nobody's gonna give you shit for wearing a nice suit or laugh at women for putting on a bit of makeup, but this hair thing for some reason is this hot topic.
@ophilianecrАй бұрын
Right? Stage presence can be very tied to their self expression and feeling good about themselves too!! That kind of mental self care is perfectly understandable for people who have been seen as icons with defined styles
@lidbassАй бұрын
I agree, but I think if you mange to get a good wig with taste, or hide it in another acceptable way, nobody cares. It's when you get the Elton Johns and the Gene Simmons which are obviously wigs and look ridiculous that fingers are pointed. (Although to be fair, Elton doesn't care that everybody knows, so respect for that at least.) For example, I think that Slash (if he is going bald!) is dealing with it in a pretty cool way: he knows his image and is sticking to it. I also give respect to The Edge, who dealt with it in a slightly different way and has made the look his own.

Not sure why people think they should go with darker hair when they get older, instead of lightening up a bit. You don’t need to go gray, but going darker just looks ghoulish. Which I guess is the look some folks are looking to acquire. Some of these guys are probably wearing toppers, which is “helper hair” that clips onto your existing hair. Of course prolonged use of the clips will eventually yank out the hair you do have. What gets me is that you can get really good quality, custom made, realistic looking wigs yet these guys go for the crappy looking wiggy wigs. The majority of people have at least some thinning as they get older, so your wig should reflect that.
