People hating on BMTH for this have actually no idea. They always hated on them for doing something different and advancing the Metal Scene in so many ways. I mean Metalcore, Screams on huge Live Television is incredible, most of the people that saw this probably never even heard a metalscream, and this brought the whole genre into more of a public eye. And if you love Metal, you should kiss the goddamn ground these guys walk on for stuff like this and for always pushing this.

I don't give 2 seconds to people talking about BMTH going mainstream. What it comes down to is this is a great performance by both BMTH and Ed Sheeran. Ed Sheeran has a massive fan base many of whom probably have never really listened to metal and this might be the heaviest performance they've seen. Maybe some of them will be like "who is BMTH what other music do they have?" BMTH getting mainstream attention is ultimately good for the metal scene. How many years have we been in this scene not wanting to be judged for our "devil music," and now you want to trash talk the ones who are making the positive change? It just doesn't make any sense.

This is *so* much more fun than the sterile radio single! I love that Sheeran & the BMTH lads took the time to fully rework the song into a new thing. Given that Ed's last tour was the biggest gro$$ing *ever* ,& thus his grandkids' grandkids don't have to worry about money, maybe (hopefully) he'll indulge his fondness for the heavier stuff by doing a mixtape-y collab thing with an array of rock & metal bands along similar lines to those which he's already done with HipHop artists. Actually, speaking of that, I'd love to know your thoughts on the song "Blow" that he did with Chris Stapleton & Bruno Mars. I'll just say that they did not come up with what I expected those 3 in a room to come up with.... & the initial vocal *is* Ed!! o_O ;) p.s. the Brits don't normally have quality interesting moments like this, so I wouldn't waste your time going tbh! LOL

Oli is bringing screamo mainstream. We all have a band who opens the door to more hardcore metal for us, mine was linkin park. Oli and Bring me didn’t sell out. They moved upwards and onward. I’ve loved them since the beginning and I love that they do what they feel and don’t care what people think. They can jump genres and they are incredible no matter what music they make. Some people just don’t appreciate growth from bands. Oli has come so far and he loves to SING. Keyword is sing. And his voice is pure gold.

Indian folk metal band who have recently just released an independent album called Rakshak (meaning protector/guardian in Hindi). Its a combination of Indian folk instruments and metal which works really well, songs are written in swing to accommodate the dhol (drum), there is always a message with their music, from politics to sexual abuse to coping with depression or the loss of a pet. If this piques your interest start here; Ari Ari Machi Bachad Jee Veerey Yaad Endurant Gaddaar Aaj Dana Dan And I promise you, you'll fall for these lads...
