This was a refreshing change of pace. When Chad started the slightly percussive mandolin playing, I wondered if I might like the musical selection. A little patience yielded a very nice-sounding duet of instruments as the song bloomed. If it is convenient, a little accompaniment adds a nice variety to the instrument demonstrations. Speaking of which, that Martin was quite striking in appearance and sound. A wonderful instrument.

Quinton and Chad, what a pleasure to hear you two play together. And the instruments, well, top notch.

That is a beautiful guitar with a great voice. I have a Martin 0000 (which I refer to as a “fourple-0”) and what I love about it most is its resonance. I can feel it resonate through me as I play. It’s a great size to play if you don’t really want a larger-sized dreadnaught guitar.

A very beautiful guitar. I’ve never played a 0000 sized guitar. My Martin 00015sm is my favorite guitar in my collection. I always wished it had a different finish but aside from that , I love 12 frets for comfort. Thank you for sharing this guitar.

I haven’t heard a guitar with such a beautiful sound in a long time. As a builder, I’ve worked with gorgeous figured woods that lead to stunning looking instruments but to get eye candy like this that makes a sound every bit as beautiful is a real treat. Well done MV and Martin!

Fabulous in sound and looks! Congrats to all who had a hand in drawing up the spec. Would love to see the exact same specs in 00 and 000 sizes too. I think you've just designed a modern classic!

Thanks Quinton and Chad! That's how I ordered my Music Villa Martin Custom Shop 0000-28e 12-fret. EI Rosewood back, Engelmann top, rose buds on the pickguard! I forgot about the mandolin in this version of Jambalaya!

It’s too bad Martin only makes M/0000 stock with rosewood back/sides. Great guitar (I own one), but the mahogany/etc ones are bangers. I still want an M/0000-18 with GE bracing.
@markh454310 ай бұрын
Jesse, you can get them but they're not stock; you just have to order them and wait a few months. I have two 0000 -18's - a 14 fret & a 12 fret with GE bracing and the Ditson finish. They were ordered through Elderly Instruments in Lansing, MI.
@JesseDylanMusic10 ай бұрын
@@markh4543 yeah I’ve thought about that for sure! Do they still make you start with a base model? Since the M-36 is the only base model, that would be expensive. Unless you could start with the d-18 satin and have them build it with the M body instead-I’d love to do that.
@markh454310 ай бұрын
@@JesseDylanMusic That's basically what my 14 fret 0000 is - a D-18 but with the 0000 body size. Just like an M-36 but Mahogany back & sides instead of Rosewood. Nothing fancy but if you want you can order it with any option you like, e.g. Sitka or Adirondack top, tuners, fretboard inlays, rosette style, binding, etc. You literally can have them build it to your personal specs. It's been a few years and I can't remember exactly what I paid but I do know it was right around the same price as a stock D-18. Elderly Instruments is a very customer friendly dealer. Let 'em know what you want and they'll take care of it. P.S. - I have no affiliation with Elderly except as a customer - they're just a great dealer.
@JesseDylanMusic10 ай бұрын
@@markh4543 that would be great! I’ll check with them. My om-18 wasn’t much more than a stock d-18, but they do let you start with “om-18” as a base model, unlike m-18!

Tell me why guitars are rapidly increasing in price? It's becoming extremely difficult to purchase guitars. How do you justify spending over $3,000 on a guitar?
