At just 10 years old, she can just stand up there in the middle of a sea of people and deliver this with such confidence... and even more impressive, she did it two years earlier at this same venue with "what a difference a day makes". We always appreciate your honesty. I have heard every Angelina performance so many times, that I could probably point out every missed word and slightly off note she has ever done (probably on two hands and a foot). But the thing I always love, is that even on her own recordings (where she could re-do it), she still leaves them in, and it somehow seems more perfect for it. It gives it an authenticity that "perfect" could never have.

I'm right there with you Maunalee - In my opinion Angelina is absolutely the best kid singer out there (and as you say there are a lot of them) I'm curious if you've ever done a reaction to Angelina's performances on Norway's' got talent circa 2014 at the time she was 7 and 8. You should give them a watch - Gloomy Sunday, Summertime especially I think they will blow your mind ( of course she has grown as an artist and is better now) but man those early performances were a wonderful taste of what was to come with this extremely talented artist...

If you hadn’t noticed Angelina has a lot of friends and supporters that are well established in the music and entertainment industry. She gets backing tracks and other gigs that wouldn’t be available to other artist her age. It shouldn’t be surprising that she got the attention of Quincy Jones seeing as Q actually arranged “Fly me to the Moon” for Frank Sinatra, and it is one of her signature songs. He personally requested her to sing it at his 85th birthday celebration at O2 arena in London. It’s nice to have friends, and everyone wants to be Angelina’s friend.

A musical prodigy, Angelina Jordan sang for the first time at barely a year old, and she never stopped. The Los Angeles-based 14-year-old singer and songwriter amplified her voice around the globe, racking up over half-a-billion KZbin views, just shy of 2 billion Facebook views, and praise from Time, CNN, The BBC, and People. Along the way, she performed for world leaders at some of the most influential events in Europe, appeared on European and North American television, and quietly enraptured a growing fan base. In 2020, she brings a soulful signature sound to life with her Republic Records debut. The breadth of Angelina’s soulful and deep alto vocal delivery showcases a rare class of musical aptitude that you would attribute to an old soul, and legendary talent, well beyond her years. “I feel like I’ve lived many years more than my age. I feel like music found me. I want people to get connected to my music and my lyrics and to share something special with the love I have for music." Angelina went from belting out Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” to immersing herself in jazz at five-years-old. She discovered Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and Louis Armstrong by combing jazz playlists across KZbin. At eight-years-old, she won Norway’s Got Talent with a viral rendition of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday.” Labels and producers feverishly sought her out, but she already possessed a clear picture of what her path would be. Taking her time, she opted to carefully hone her voice through countless hours of practice, gigs, and writing. “It was really great, but I knew I wanted something bigger,” she admits. “I didn’t want to jump into it until I felt I was ready.” She got “ready” through a series of historic performances. She graced the stage of the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony and delivered an emotionally charged rendition of “What A Wonderful World.” A year later, she wowed an audience at Brilliant Minds in Stockholm. Touching down in Seoul during 2017, she joined a powerhouse bill alongside PSY and Norah Jones in front of 40,000 people at Muse In City Festival. Quincy Jones personally invited her to perform at his 85th birthday at London’s O2 Arena. Every time she took the stage, she was notably barefoot, which remains one of her signatures thus far. “A long time ago, I was traveling with my family, and I met a young homeless girl with no shoes,” she recalls. “She was barefoot, so I gave her my shoes because I really wanted to help her. Today, I sing barefoot as a reminder of all the kids in the world who need help and support.” Along the way, GRAMMY® Award-winning production duo Stargate [Beyoncé, Sam Smith, Rihanna] reached out, and they initiated a fervent creative partnership together. She continued to write lyrics, compose on piano and guitar, and record. Catching the attention of Republic Records, she inked a deal with the label in 2020. Now, she formally introduces herself on the single “Million Miles.” With lyrics exclusively penned by Angelina, her robust delivery sails over sparse piano on the verses as the track builds towards a sweeping refrain, “We’re a million miles apart. It’s pulling my heart." “Million Miles” is about losing someone you really love,” she explains. “This song is very personal to me, because I had never felt the feeling of losing someone before I wrote this.” With more music on the horizon, there is more of Angelina’s captivating voice and songwriting in store. “I hope you feel connected to the music and the stories behind the songs,” she leaves off. “Love is the most powerful thing though. That’s the message.” Angelina Jordan a decade of dedication 86 Melody kzbin.info/aero/RD9Tw Net worth is 9.4 million

Angelina has said that when she sings she goes into another world in her head. She described it as a beautiful, endless world. When Angelina closes her eyes it always gets a little extra special. And if she closes her eyes and puts her hand to her chest.... that's when she's really going inside the song. You are also right about the effortlessness that she sings with. She never looks like she's even trying. It's just so natural for her and I think that is one of the things that draws people to her. It's not an "act". It's just a girl that loves music expressing herself.

I am very sorry that you did not record your first reaction to Angelina Jordan's debut performance in Got Talent, Norway. The appearance of a seven-year-old girl with one tooth (at the end of the edition she already had two) and her voice so deep when she sang the song Gloomy Sunday Billie Holiday. Second remark, I really liked the clip with the invited guest. Greetings to your mother. It's a great idea, once you know the performance, you can invite someone who will see the performance for the first time, and you can raise emotions, because you know exactly which part is the most spectacular. And taking the opportunity, I may surprise you. The song Gloomy Sunday is not a song by Billie Holiday, she promoted it, but the author is a Hungarian artist, I have the original artist for you. The original Gloomy Sunday, written in 1932 by Rezső Seress, YT clip: "Gloomy Sunday - The Hungarian Suicide Song".

Another great reaction. You are correct about the minor intonation problem, but even the best singers and instrumentalists have those when performing in concert, especially outdoors. Get them in a studio and it's a different story. Plus, audio engineers can detect and correct even the slightest imperfections. I'm sure Angelina will be just fine. Here's some background from Wikipedia about the song: "Feeling Good" (also known as "Feelin' Good") is a song written by English composers Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse for the musical "The Roar of the Greasepaint - The Smell of the Crowd". It was first performed on stage in 1964 by Cy Grant on the UK tour and by Gilbert Price in 1965 with the original Broadway cast. Nina Simone recorded "Feeling Good" for her 1965 album "I Put a Spell on You". The song has also been covered by Traffic, Michael Bublé, John Coltrane, George Michael, Victory, Eels, Joe Bonamassa, EDEN, Muse, Black Cat Bones, Sammy Davis Jr., Bassnectar, and Avicii, among others.

It's a good thing Angelina has a couple of other performances of this song, created when she was much more mature (about 2 more years of experience). Now that her VPA has been dragged down by this 9, she has a lot to make up for. 😊😊 I'm really liking your stronger rating and analyses. As amazing as something like "I Put a Spell On You" (in b/w, age 9) is, she is still a small child, for instance. So, if you apply your system to that performance, using the same criteria you would use for an adult performance, I don't see it making more than a 7 or so. Of course then, your comments would offset much of that, to take the sting out. I'm really not sure how you would factor in the X-factor everyone talks about but can't describe adequately; the thing that brings tears to the eyes, pulls at the heart, lifts the spirit. Your rating system is good for reactions but, we Angelina fans are generously making allowances for its limitations in her case. I'm not sure where this will leave you, in a year or so. We'll just have to adjust to the new reality.

This rating system indicates stubbornness but not professionalism.

You with 'chicken skin' and me in tears at the same time. As per usual she kicked the crap out of this song. I generally consider Nina Simone's the best version since she wrote it too. I also like Michael Buble's version, but come on when a barely 10 year old can do this to this song then she shoots to the top with the other two. I get a kick out of you trying to still be objective, I gave up that perspective after the first notes came out of her mouth on the first video I watched of her. From what I read in the other comments I read I'm not alone. Thanks for your reaction again. As always honest and truthful and righteous. Until the next time.

and what Rusty said: Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness.
