I see a lot of reaction videos but most people are not really touched by the music emotionally. They’re liking Courtney’s music but are really experiencing it on a superficial level; voice control, lyrics, range, etc. You are connecting emotionally as evidenced by everything in your reaction. Goosebumps in the first 30 seconds, the sighs, etc. You feel it, as I do. It’s great to see someone else floored by her emotionally. She has a magnificent voice, incredible range and control and is technically a very talented singer but it’s her ability to imbue the songs with powerful emotion that really makes her a superstar. I feel sorry for people that can’t connect emotionally to Courtney, they’re missing out on so much.

This is really Courtney's wheelhouse. At age 11 she was slaying ballads by Steven Tyler, Etta James, Jessie J., Elvis, Michael Jackson, and others. Today she said she wanted to show her "softer side" and released this as her first of 4 on the EP "The Cover Sessions."It was followed by "Sucker" "Someone You Loved" and Old Town Road." Courtney will be a smash with her rocker/R&B persona, but she will always shine with this type of music. I hope she does not forget her roots. Nice reaction!

Absolutely love your reactions to Courtney. You bring as much emotion to the performance as she does. Two things always stand out about Courtney beyond her obvious vocal and performing skills: 1. Her tremendous vocal range and versatility. She can do Rock, R&B, Funk, Soul and Ballads without any drop off in quality. I can't think of any artist, old or new, that can pull that off as well as she does. The book's still out on opera. 2. You're never going to hear anything that sounds like the original when she does a cover. Why do a cover if you don't have a different take on the song and Courtney never lets you down. It's always all Courtney, sometimes to the extent that the relation to the original is almost unrecognizable. If you think what she did to this pop song was amazing, wait until you hear what she's done to the Jonas Bros. 'Sucker', the last of her recent covers on her Vevo channel. It will blow your mind. I get where you're coming from on her AGT classic rock performances. I personally love them, but there are others who share your view and prefer this style of Courtney. But frankly speaking, how many 13/14 year-olds have we seen rocking out to James Brown, Tina Turner and Janis Joplin. Personally, I can't decide. I think all versions of Courtney are the best. I thought I might be the first to comment on this, Maunalee, but people have already beat me a few seconds ago. Anyway, thank you for finally doing Courtney who is my favorite of all the new voices. Her emoting during her singing is one of her outstanding talents. She does run the gamut of many styles that she interprets in her rock/soul/blues manner, including "jumping around on stage" like her idols James Brown and Elvis. And she can do the slow ballad thing. Different people like one or the other; I like them both and in between!

Your reactions are uplifting. You pay attention too. I've been watching a bunch of other reactions today for Angelina's AGT performance, and some tend to talk over and even sing over the performance too much. Drives me nuts. Courtney and Angelina are the kind of performers you want the reactor to feel what you feel and already know when those moments come. There's parts of every performance that as a viewer you are hoping the reactor is paying attention to. When it happens, so do the goosebumps. So thanks for your reactions the way you do. I'm not sure but my guess is when Courtney found old school music while watching old classics on KZbin, she may have wanted everyone to feel the same as she did when she saw them for the first time. So maybe she was trying to make sure everyone watching got her message by really giving it her all on stage in the beginning. And as time went on she, as we all do, learned to be more at ease. There's a saying "Less is More". And it definitely works sometimes. But sometimes you just need to let it all hang out. I kinda prefer the later with Courtney moreso, myself. Here stage performance really makes me feel like a kid. I also love these performances too. I guess I'm more of a dedicated rocker and blues person though. Courtney has many more covers like this as a younger Courtney I'm guessing you'll enjoy too. Not as well produced as her Vevo channel stuff, but still very good. Here's one of Aerosmith's cover of "Don't want to miss a thing" kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJvQqIJ7o6t8pNU Please keep on doing Courtney. We get withdrawals when things are quiet on her, at least I do. lol

Drive's me nuts too. It's downright disrespectful to the artist they are reacting to, with the whoops, and hollers, and singalongs, and other meaningless blather, while the artist is singing. They're excuse is, "Hey I'm just reacting. That's what I do." And I say, "baloney, your reaction is fake!" I despise those channels. I don't always agree with Maunalee, but her reactions are genuine, and most of all, respectful to the artist.
@bertpainter83854 жыл бұрын
@@rotorhead-fy7nc Agreed. I felt bad today when I told a new reactor a few things I thought would help out with reaction because he talked loudly all the way through and his volumes were so uneven with the video to his mic. But I had to delete it. I thought I'd just move on and let someone else tell him. I tend to get worked up when someone's reaction is overdone or the volume settings are wrong. I move on often now. And thanks for the Pinned comment Maunalee.

Hi from the UK, Yorkshire , known as "gods own country", the city of York was the ancient capital of England . Getting back to the subject at hand, Cortney hasn't changed this much from the Harry styles version, but what it does do is show off her vocal range. What is remarkable about the quality of this, is that it was one of four videos recorded on the same day when she was still only 14. She was busy writing and recording for her album and also of course had her school work to do. This was just fitted in to give her fans something new during this necessary hiatus. Her first album will drop this year and there will be at least one video. She has also said she will be performing on several stages. She also plays keyboard and, now, guitar. Two recent Instagram posts are of her at home singing and strumming a guitar (Both have been picked up by KZbinrs)

Lots of folks only know Courtney from AGT, and assume that's her "style." @@bertpainter8385 Agreed! I think the best videos of Courtney that shine a light onto what was to come, were her home practice of "I Dreamed A Dream" (even though that was not her role in the play) to see the emotion she could put into a performance at that young age, and her video where she sang "The Climb" wrapped in a blanket in her room, then 2 years later at the Mall, and finally at Julie's that showed her progression from 9 to 14. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iHitdJ53d8qahJo instagram.com/p/BylPD7gl97P/?igshid=132sga4wry6bl

@@rotorhead-fy7nc Courtney's I dreamed a dream tells a story of many things about Courtney and family if people really pay attention to her surroundings in this video and put themselves in the place of the person taking the video. The fact that her brother and (sister I guess) sat there and listened while she did this says things (not sure many siblings would hang around while there sister practices). The support system seems very rooted, even then. As you said the emotion she shows at that age and the way she really opens her mouth to project her vocals, shows real determination. Things you just don't see from the average person especially at that age. Then that little peak at the video person (not sure why that was,but I can only guess). In other words she's not just the run of the mill kid trying to practice. She's putting everything into it. I like to over analyze things when I'm into it. lol. Which reminds me to ask this, does anyone know who Courtney's video person is over the years. Her dad, mom or other?

I've been waiting for you to do this song. It still gives me goosebumps and tears in my eyes. A little background to why she sings this particular song. You may have heard it. Loved your reaction, Maunalee! You should check out her original song "Pretty Little Thing" on AGT The Champions 2019. This was after AGT 2018 and her stage presence and dance moves had improved. It's one of my favorite performances of hers and her original song is really good! kzbin.info/www/bejne/kIqnlXWsfph-nsk 😎

Coming from England and only a few miles from Courtney's home who will in the future will leave us to be part of your world, advantages of living here are most of us have good manners and we have no guns but above that we have a Courtney.

I prefer this Courtney too but when she fills out and becomes a woman don't be surprised if they put two back up singers beside her and she starts jumping around again but more organized like Tina Turner did in the 60s

Apologies another comment about courtney I truly hope she never loses her inner truth about herself as that's what makes her untouchable by any other singer. I will always try to keep up with her progress because she touches my soul and spirit and heart and gives each song true meaning to each one that you can relate to

Hi, I am an American living in the Philippines most of the year, and of course, the beaches are great, but the singers are amazing, maybe it is something genetically about their vocal cords or critical moms pulling you by the ear and saying it's not perfect yet (not that bad but almost). I normally get woken up a Saturday morning by some neighbors kid belting out a song on karaoke (which a Filipino invented). You need to react to Mossette Armon " Akin Ka Na Lang" on the Wish Bus it has English sub, or one of her other songs. Also Darren Espanto "Chandelier" there are many others but those two are a good start. So come to the Philippines for a concert.

Hi Maunalee. Good reaction. I love Courtney's voice and her way to put herself into all the songs she covers. Covers are all she do till now - ok except her Pretty Little Things: I'm still waiting for her own songs. I have big expectations from her, but together I see much room for improvements, also physically like breathing control and, if she want to perform singing&dancing, greater management of energy to not mortify the show (the will is sometimes not enough if you don't have strenght and endurance). I am aware of commenting somewhat detached from Courtney's early days, where instead I was super enthusiastic. Let's say that I have now taken a chair and I am looking very confidently. If they are roses they will bloom (

Great reaction Maunalee. Glad you're still a Courtney fan. One thing to remember about Courtney is she does it her way so don't look at like it's a Harry Styles song or anybody else's when she does a cover. I'm not real fond of the dude who sang old town road or the song itself but I like Courtney's cover of it.

You've got the greatest facial expressions. You chew your lip and your eye brows start knitting a sweater. Don't take that as a negative. It's all very endearing that your emotions are on such transparent display, so if a song makes you cry, cry.

@The Grateful Brad Aaaahhhhhh! What you wrote to Maunalee was So Sweet, almost Poetic! People need to communicate on social media in a similar way as yourself. i think Music reactors like Maunalee deserve some praise & encouragement. Reacting to something in front of the whole world, the largest audience ever, isn't something I could do. As well as being Articulate, easy to understand, intelligent etc. I'm looking forward to watching your next reaction, from New Zealand.

I really liked Courtney when I first saw her on AGT but like this style a lot more. I guess I like music that moves me from the inside out. I wrote this while she was singing the song... then basically you said the same thing after the song so a guess we agree.

I know this is late but I'm going through artists I like. I'm from Trinidad & Tobago (Caribbean), you know, you're annoying The Warning/Grace fan! Your request is fun but hard because Country is ALL about tourist attractions, LOL! Every spot a tourist will love. I do unfortunately have to warn people (I hate it but I'm honest) about crime in my country. You have to be smart where you go now but if you have a trusted guide. my country has the best and largest Carnival of it's kind. Brazil and ours are totally different in that we allow and encourage everyone to join the 'MAS' (costume) bands! And of course anyone of our beaches!(with safety guide to advise you) - Great reaction to Courtney!

I'm so with on that. She's there on rock, but she's super good on soul's. There's no one at that age to match her in the passion and depth of soul. They'll have to search the entire world .🌍😅🌹💐🌹

You should check out a band from Oslo, Norway under the name of Kalandra. Singer Katrine Steinbeck. Their cover of Helvegen is chilling. That should get you some overseas comments. Love your takes on singers and songs. 😎❤️🖤

That surprised me. I've only ever listened to her BGT performance before, I really loved it, but this is way better. I didn't think she had a soulful side, I hope she does more like it
