@@qw2ps4 That would be Christians not sticking to the scriptures because the new testament is very clear on how the law still applies but one must differentiate between Jewish Custom and the law itself to gain genuine comprehension. Certain focus is to be placed on the commands of God but not so much as in what we intake or do to ourselves, such a prime example would be Circumcision which is irrelevant to the point of salvation and is only an aid as such to helping prevent fornication and lustful thinking/behavior as loss of feeling occurs to some degree but its not considered a sin to not be circumcised. If you did you’d realize that The Quran( which also is Al called Kitab, The Book, the Reading) has all the parts of scriptures preserved in it and are considered the Final Scriptures. I have been reading the Quran as I was studying Islam with the thought of converting. I have heard these ideas that Jesus wasn't crucified and maybe someone was substituted and it made no sense to me. And that is not what the Quran says. Muslims believe in what the Quran says with no speculation but on this topic they are making things up. Mary his mother, the apostle John and other followers walked the road to cavalry and sat at the foot of the cross. How would they not know if it wasn't Jesus?Were they all in on this conspiracy? I am so glad there are Muslims that believe what I do when I read the Quran. Jesus was resurrected so he did not really die. I really don't know why it is a widespread Islamic belief that either the crucifiction never happened or someone else was nailed to the cross. That is not in the Quran.

I am a Muslim and I must admit that the words of the Sheikh seems reasonable. Who ever told me that there was a different man on the cross? I just assumed it, but the Quran doesn’t state it. Muslims just believe that and I actually don’t know why. Their argument is that Jesus was innocent, but that means that God placed another person on the cross to make it seem like Jesus to us, but that would be unjust. I think a lot of Muslims just believe other peoples story without reading themselves. I never read this verse and thought about it. That is my mistake

Sister... There is another interpretation about it. The crucifixion is to kill someone by nailing him on the cross. If the one nailed on the cross does not die, that means it is a failed crucifixion. A failed crucifixion is not a real crucifixion, but a cruci-fiction. The Quran says : They did not kill him (Jesus), nor did they crucify him. It simply means : Jesus did not die although they nailed him on the cross. He was still alive when his followers took him down from the cross and then put him in a cave. But the Jews thought Jesus was already dead. There was no substitution of Jesus with somebody else here. By the way, are you an Indonesian ?? Greetings from Central Java.

I read the Quran and straight away knew it doesn't support this idea of him being replaced and instead to me it suggests that God took his life as a mercy, not that he died from the actual crucifixion itself, that's why in the Quran it says - Quran 4:157 And their saying: We have killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, messenger of God!" And they had not killed him, nor crucified him, but it appeared to them as if they had. And those who dispute are in doubt regarding him, they have no knowledge except to follow conjecture; they did not kill him for a certainty. Quran 4:158 Instead, God had raised him to Himself; and God is Noble, Wise. Quran 4:159 And from the people of the Book are those who refused to believe in him before his death, and on the Day of Resurrection he be a witness against them. And it also talks about God taking his life in Quran 3:55. Quran 3:55 For God said: "O Jesus, I will terminate your life, and raise you to Me, and cleanse you of those who have rejected, and make those who have followed you above those who have rejected until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, all of you, so I will judge between you in what it was you disputed."

I appreciate the perfect grammar David employs in both speech and writing and how clear his sentences are. I've become so accustomed to people (including dawahgandists) butchering the English language that when I see someone like David speak and write properly "right down to the letter", it's a sigh of relief. David must have learned to use precise language from having gotten his words distorted over the years. Or maybe it was his philosophy degree. Not sure if this testifies to how careful David is or how reckless so many other English-speaking people have gotten. Anyway, it's not a small thing for his ministry. Other people online underestimate the impact of taking the time to write clear, precise sentences as opposed to just blurting things out just because they're barely comprehensible enough. I also like his body language; no David video is complete without seeing his hands flail about. Keep up the good work.

I think you’re correct that it’s his philosophy studies & it’s what happens when a student has learned to write properly through lots of practice. I also think he’s the kind of person who considers it a part of his work ethic to pay attention to details; it’s also likely an area where he’s naturally skilled. I’d say the daily debate he & Nabeel Quareshi had for years trying to convert each other forced him to polish his communication skills to an elite level. You can see the same attention to detail, complete honesty, & head on approach towards explaining any challenges in Nabeel’s videos on KZbin as well.

This is just one of the interpretations that Muslims put forth, a very unique one at that. This guy likely sees the issue that the Quran creates with its claim about a historical fact about Jesus, so he finds a way to reconcile it. He did not say the Bible was wrong about the day the sun stopped, he said that the earth was pushed forward so that the sun remained in the same place in the sky, and it appeared as if the sun had stopped. This Shaik is trying to reconcile the historical account with the Qur'an, because historians know for a fact that Jesus was Crucified. It's attested in multiple historical sources, not just the Bible. So if you refuse to believe that Jesus was crucified, you have a serious problem; you're choosing the narrative of a 7th century caravan robber over verifiable historical fact.
