I did not come here for PR or doing part time jobs. I am still looking for a full time job. Yes job is guaranteed, but it’ll take time. Sharing rooms for $450 are a thing of the past, they no longer exist atleast in college areas or in Toronto. Paying a little more to have peace of mind is okay, that peace will allow you to focus on something you really want. Nickel and diming won’t help much in current situations anyway. In highly concentrated areas (around colleges) a 2 bedroom apartment isn’t going for less than 2.8k. If you have 4 people sharing 2 bedrooms, at a minimum you’re paying 700. Cheaper housing has all been taken up and people don’t want to move out given the economic situation.

Don’t ruin your life and come here. If you’re coming for PR they are changing the rules and getting PR is extremely difficult. LMIA loopholes are being blocked, CRS scores high, PNP programs shut, asylum for Indian students outright rejected. You will be stuck in a labour job paying off high debt, and barely making money to put a roof over your head. You will end up back in india with a useless diploma and limited to none professional work experience. It will be a nightmare, professional suicide, and mental trauma.

I feel sorry. I came here in 2021 and have a good paying job after graduating from a top university program. But I see TOO MANY people from India really struggling, burning savings, taking poor professional pursuits with the hope that the situation will change and PR will happen. PR after the recent government announcement to reduce population growth means PR is effectively becoming possible for about 20% of students. 80% will unfortunately not get it just given the 2.6 million temporary residents (and growing) already chasing it. If you’re here, w/o a non-professional job for really long, good luck hopefully something will work out soon. Don’t be too hard on yourself.
