Have done this myself. Really nice part. The bucking is an interesting thing. The btl😮 increases spring pressure as you increase torque transfer. As you try to ease the clutch out and tq transfer increases, This increase in spring pressure tries to pull the clutch lever out from the bars faster than you are releasing it. your muscles react and pull the clutch lever in a little, tq transfer drops, spring pressure drops, then you are back to the start.. this happens very very quickly and causes the bucking and shuddering.

Solid breakdown of how it goes at the hit without the clutch mod. It's not fun!

Awesome Matt《☆》Nice Mod Tutorial Brother👍🏾🤳Brocks makes good stuff. I've stalled my Busa out several times just trying to leave traffic lights in a hurry when the light turns green & I'm not paying attention🚦😁I don't race but I might consider this Mod for Street use🙏🏻Good Luck at the Track✌😎☮

Dude are you still riding and racing in the buffalo ny area at Lancaster?!? I havent seen any new videos!!?? I have a busa and want to race at Lancaster
@mattzahmdotcom2 ай бұрын
LFG brother! Yep still sending it at Lancaster. Friday nights for points and here and there on Tuesdays for test and tune. The season is wrapping soon. This Friday looks like a bust cause weather, next week I think no racing at the track, I'll be at Keystone for bracket finals. But the following 2 weeks and it's over for the most part. The busa doesn't see the street anymore. I've upgraded the clutch again, has a lockup now. Not streetable. Got a slow but comfy Triumph on the road for now, and an 80 cb750F I'm going to be making road worthy this winter. I've sorta lost my creative juices... And the work I've been doing on the bikes has been learning/figuring out/tuning through track testing, so I couldn't really make much out of that. Maybe I'll make something out of the cb750F project. If you come to the track most of the bikes are pitted all the way in the back, that's where I'll be.

They're definitely good for aggressive riding. Just not good when launching hard from a stand still.

Hey man how is the clutch mod working out for you ? did it reduce the noise and has it made any noticeable differences in normal riding just curious, my clutch makes some noise,when i pull in the clutch lever a tad the noise is gone that is how i know that my clutch is worn a bit , looking to fix that issue...
@mattzahmdotcom5 ай бұрын
Sorry for late reply. I fell off of the content creation on here. But the clutch mod fixed my launching issues. Smooth sailing while launching at +4000RPM from a stand still. It will drag the rear tire on early down shifts with this installed though. She's a drag bike only now though, so I'm not shifting up and down really. Just up in a line and then down shifting slowly as RPM drops low as I slow down in the shutdown.

Why would this cause launching issues if the slipper only actions in one direction (deceleration)?
@munter108 ай бұрын
Good question! Because the basket is driven in one direction so regardless of whether you’re on the power or decelerating it’s going to slip if you take the pressure off the springs and off the clutch plates.
@mattzahmdotcom5 ай бұрын
When launching from a stand still and definitely while doing it with increased RPM before launch, it jars the system. If you look at the teeth on the drive and at the receiver of the slipper mechanism, it does have slope on one side, so you don't feel it on normal accel, but when force pushes opposite on decel, the push on the sloped end pushes in on the slipper receiver part that is attached to the springs that press in the pressure plate, lessening the force of the springs on the pressureplate squeezing the clutch pack and allows the clutch to slip. But you will also note with the teeth and receiver of the slipper mechanism, there is quite a bit of slop there. I'm not 100% sure why this happens but the shock caused the springs springs to release pressure and then squeeze, and doing so back and forth, when the drive teeth shock the receiver on a hard standing launch. This mod removes this mechanism so there is no movement of the hub that holds the springs to the pressure plate aside from only its rotation with the engine. This mod really is for drag racing. And this is not some B.S. product. I absolutely experienced this launching issue myself, and this mod fixed it completely and by itself. I have one note to make to this install however. The spring spacers that add spring tension to the pressure plate are really only necessary with an engine with more power than stock. With my stock engine I find better clutch feel and no unessesary slip of the clutch when wide open down the track.

Here’s a tip for ya. . . Be sure to blow your nose right BEFORE filming a video… pretty awful having to listen to you sniff every 10 secs 😂

It was freezing out! Lol, And barely warmer with the propane heater in the shop I had to turn off during takes to avoid the noise. Couldn't get the runny nose to stop. Plus I was in the zone. So sent it!
