Oldschool rules.....love watching richard run this bike. Its always a favorite

That's so awesome to see! I had a '79 GS , Frank Giordano did my engine, Bob Carpenter did my head and I had his Vazar pro stock pipe w/meing swingarm. I worked at Atco racway in 1985-86, Ricky Gadson had his GS 1150ES street bike. The 80's Philly street bikes we're seriously the fastest around! I was 19 years old. Great times back then!

Great detailed info on this rare bike. Thank you for keeping the drag scene spicy, along with Frankie and Rickey; the whole Pro street racing class IS all Turbocharged Hayabusas. 6.6X's are at the top of the field numbers too. Congrats on the numbers. Old Air Cooled Suzuki's are still relevant in today's tech. Hope you guys get to the 6.50's that everyone is gunning for these days.

I own an '82GS1100E and an '09Hayabusa. I just never thought of combining them. This badboy sounds awesome and 6.6? Without a wheelie bar? No doubt it beats the turbo Busa with a jump off the line like that. Good job.

Sounds awesome. Had a couple of gs1000s and a 1100e (82?) back in the day. Eddie Lawson superbike bars and a bassani street or strip 4 in to 1 exhaust. I’ve rode Harleys for a long time now but I do miss my 1100. But that is straight up badass. Thanks for crankin it!

CycleDrag it was very nice . Once drove it to Atlanta from chicago and a week later went to the Pocono mtns in Pa. from Atlanta then after a few days back to chicago. I would ride up in Wisconsin a lot. Since it’s farm land there are plenty of long country farm roads . Once went over 160mph after looking carefully on the road for potholes etc then turning around and opening it up . Quite the rush 😎It was a great bike 😎

I have an 80 gs1100 bored to 1500 and lightweight internals and V&H air filters and exhaust it goes 90+ in first gear and the stock speedo only goes to 85. My ignition system took a shit my stater and rectifier keep taking a shit on me then it fouls the plugs and will hardly go. My nephew recently hit my original mint gas tank with a hammer a couple times and dented it pretty good. I live in PA too.

@cycledrag5 жыл бұрын
I get this a lot and understand the question. In teh wild world of dragbike racing no wheelie bars, a DOT tire and front and rear light make for a street bike
@bryanrothe42455 жыл бұрын
@@cycledrag okay I did not know that I don't agree with it but if that's the rule to me a street bike has all its lights proper tires a license plate and insurance and illegal exhaust I still love the bike and it's awesomely fast 👍🏽
@cycledrag5 жыл бұрын
@@bryanrothe4245 the class has really evolved..you know how Pro drag racers are. 20 years ago it was called Street Bike Shootout. You had to complete a 20 mile road course to prove your integrity. The bikes ran 9s. More money came in, rules were loosened, now these marvels run 6.60s on DOT tires. I'm not sure how many would pass a road course, but it's still amazing.
