@Austin Brown so folks who supposedly accepted Christ on their death bed are in hell then correct? Dude it's all good. Do you. I really dont care. Its just hilarious how divided Christians are. And you all think your point if view is the right one. Just like you buddy. So go ahead cause I know it's what helps you sleep at night. Muslims are way more United in their beliefs which is probably why they will be the dominant religion soon. Unfortunately for you I'm sure.

We are saved by grace! JOHN 3:5” YOU MUST BE BORN OF WATER AND THE SPIRIT” THE WATER is the living water,JESUS, THE SPIRIT is THE HOLY SPIRIT. If we are saved by grace,no more is needed ! JOHN 4:10,”IF YOU KNEW THE GIFT OF GOD AND WHO IT IS THAT YOU ASK FOR A DRINK,YOU WOULD HAVE ASKED HIM,AND HE WOULD HAVE GIVING YOU LIVING WATER” Water Baptism is a sign of obedience,it has nothing to do with salvation !

Thank you so much for starting this important and interesting conversation Doug! However.... You can definitely be saved without water baptism. However, you should be baptized as a show of your faith and an act of submission to the will of the Lord. Acts 10, Cornelius and his house were baptized by the spirit before water baptism, the spirit placed them into the body of Christ and therefore saved them without a drop of water. One major problem with this is Doug overemphasizing sin as something we deal with, water doesn’t wash away your sin, Jesus Christ blood pays for it and that is how you are cleansed... I’m just saying 🤷🏽‍♂️

WHY IS IT THAT HE HAVE NOT ANSWERED THE QUESTION "MUST WE BE BAPTIZED IN ORDER TO BE SAVED" YES OR NO? HE QUOTES VERSES THAT SUGGEST A YES BUT THEN QUOTES SCENARIOS THAT SUGGEST YOU HAVE THOSE WHO DID NOT GET BAPTIZED MIGHT BE SAVED. WHICH IS IT? WE DO KNOW THAT BAPTISM IS IMPORTANT BUT DO I NEED TO PERFORM THE WORK OF GETTING BAPTIZED TO BE SAVED? ISN'T THAT A WORK.

I think we must unpack what Jesus means like in John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. We must have both, many are baptized in water but still no Holy Spirit, we must have a true conversion, which is Jesus Christ in us, sometimes people are baptized in the spirit before they're baptized in water, but not very often I must say, they get taught the trues of the Bible, get baptized in water and then go about their lives as they were, I have taught many the structure to what they are being baptized for, such as the fundamentals of the Adventist Church, why would you want to be baptized unless you knew what you are making a commitment for? Yet many are baptized without much understanding to what they are getting Into, and many are taught and yet do not understand, just say "yes" to all the questions and then they get baptized in water, and then (I have seen with my own eyes many, many times) they leave never to come back, we must have both, I feel we are baptizing people without any true convictions more than those who do, many have no idea what biblical structure they just signed up for, and very few are being taught the scriptures before and a continuous Bible studies after, and this is a serious error on our part who are leaders in the church, we must ask the Lord to pour out the Holy Spirit upon us each individually, and teach those who are wanting baptism the Bible basics which is the fundamentals of our church THIS IS NOT BEING DONE! And many have no idea why they're Christian and do not know their own doctrines, I must say if they don't know they should not be baptized until they are truly in an understanding of what they're about to do...the water is a justification experience, but the fire of the Holy Spirit is the sanctified life of a Christ-like character that has changed the worldling into a inherited ambassador for the Lord. And this brings fourth the fruits of the Spirit and we are a dead church because nobody is teaching before and especially after baptism by water and therefore is not baptism of the Holy Spirit.... Mark 1:8 I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” Acts 10:47 “Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have? Acts 11:16 Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, ‘John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ We must has both conversions And us leaders need to be concerned for the newly baptized in our chuches, this means we who are baptized should be well read in the word of God so we can conduct continuous Bible studies to those who are brand new Christians, I am dealing with this on a regular basis, I go from church to church and nobody has in their churches anyone who conducts Bible studies???? Why ?? And the sad part is I have to travel over 120 miles for example, to make sure a newly baptized couple doesn't drift into the world again, and they're really confused to why they're baptized and then tossed to the corner like some branded sheep ...and I have to agree, this is really shameful on our part, we need to stop playing church and get real with our relationship with the Lord, this is a serious matter that should be addressed in ALL our churches!

@shelbyj947 5 жыл бұрын
Kareem Pough that’s a great question. As Doug is saying Baptism is a choice that we have to make. Jesus chose to be baptized. When you were young you obeyed what your parents did (which is fine) but you didn’t technically choose for yourself. Does that make sense? Baptism must be a personal choice. I hope that this helps.

If you ever leave Christ to live a life of sin, it’s always best when you come back to recommit your life to Christ, then be rebaptized to show yourself, others, and all of Heaven your sincerity. I’ve done it and feel blessed spiritually because of it.

I had many demons in my life when I came to Christ, with smoking for 30 years being one of them. I had not been able to quit for 30 years, although I tried many times. I came in through an evangelistic effort and went to the no smoking program with about 6-8 other smokers. One person seemed like a non-smoker posing as a smoker because he quit right away, but for the rest of us, all left the church after that program because they said it was impossible, they can’t quit so why even try to be a Christian, so they left. I was the only real smoker that stayed. I was baptized and tried to quit for 3 years afterward. I couldn’t do it. It wasn’t for a lack of trying. I could go a week at most, before I turned into an ogre that hated everything and everyone, picking butts off the ground and smoking them, trying to regain some civility, which never had any lasting effect. My smoke bone was connected to my brain bone. It seemed nothing was ever going to change that. I would go to church every Sabbath, and the pastor would sit behind me just to see if he could smell smoke, which I’m sure he did. After 3 years of this, I changed my prayer from, God please help me to quit smoking to, God please find something that will work for me. About 2 weeks later, I went to a scheduled doctor’s appointment and he said there’s a new anti-smoking med that just came out called Zyban and wanted to know it I’d like to try it. Yes, please. After taking it, full dose for 1 week and smoking at the same time, it flipped a switch in my brain and I never craved a cigarette again. After 2 weeks, I started taking a half dose every day which extended the 30 day to a 45 day dose. Afterward, I never craved a cigarette again.

I ask Jesus to forgive me and lighten my parents to allow me to be baptised . But they are against it . They don't want me to be baptised even though they have already put up with me being a Christian . Yet , I don't think they will allow me to be baptised any time sooner. What should I do ? God has put into my heart to be baptized. the SDA is a bible based religion, So I don't understand why the church wants me to have to accept the church's principles. Does it say somewhere in the bible to get baptized into a religion? Or is baptism about God, and the son, and the holy spirit? I feel God has impressed on me to be baptized, but he doesn't want me to get side tracked with religious beliefs. I think he wants me to only concentrate on Him. What do I do??

I’ve been in and out of the SDA Church all my life. Would of stayed in, but sin and riotous living got the better of me. I’ve been to other churches, experienced their fellowship and teachings. I’m also 66 years old so I’ve done this long enough to know something about the matter. I also watch a lot of KZbin videos. From all of this I can tell you the following: The SDA Church is the one closest to biblical teaching that I can find. You might need to find a good tutor to help you with some of their beliefs, of which I am, but the Bible paints a beautiful picture of God, and it is seen most clearly through the lens of SDA teachings. There are plenty of haters out there that try to paint an ugly picture of the Church, but I’d expect nothing less from Satan to try and drive people away. Is the church a cult? This is a claim made by those who have not done the study necessary to see truth. They either don’t like what they find, or they don’t care to take the time necessary in Study. This is what I find being spouted from the SDA people that left the church. They didn’t know or see how the SDA teachings and the Bible align up. That also answers your question as to why do you have to understand what SDA teaches before being baptized? It’s to help teach and nurture those sincere followers of Christ into bible based beliefs. Too many get baptized without this step, then go off to complain about SDA teachings before they even understand them.

Baptism doesn't mean deeping one in water, water simply stands for people. In John 3 it's clearly stated flesh after talking about water but spirit remains spirit. Revelation 17 tells us what water stands for. John said, the one coming after me shall baptise with spirit and fire. Read more from: thewayhomeorfacethefire.net

Question.... I'm thankful for this question of baptism. But I have a other question....What about the true day of Sabbath. Awhile ago I learned that a Catholic pip back in the day made Sunday the Sabbath day instead if Saturday. Why is it we follow Sunday? Saturday was the true day of Sabbath. The day of rest. So is it not breaking the commandment about keeping the Sabbath holy?

I can help answer the first question. As Seventh Day Adventist, as Doug Bachelor is, we understand and believe that there is life, in other parts of universe. (Job 1:6, 7 "Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them. And the Lord said to Satan, “From where do you come?” So Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.” We believe this alludes to the fact that there is life on other worlds; the "sons of God" being, representatives from other worlds) However, we also believe that Earth is the only planet where sin exists, because our foreparents fell into Satan's temptation. Therefore, if we are the only ones in sin, than we are the only ones who need baptism, which represents the washing away of our sins and a new start.

Hello Everyone, I see the title and the answer is “No” you don’t have to be baptized to be saved, remember Jesus and the thief, he was told he would be with Jesus in Paradise, that thief couldn’t be baptized and yet he was saved, so my answer is “No” you do not have to be baptized to be saved

In this context you are right, because if I have accepted Jesus in my heart and I plan to get baptized soon, say in a week or two, but i happen to die in a car accident tmr, well then ill still be saved. But if i have the choice to get baptized and i dont take it, then that means I don’t understand its importance etc etc. And this is precisely what Doug Batchelor is referring to. The thief on the cross did not have the choice to get baptized as he was going to die from asphyxiation within a little while. However, Jesus was a witness of his change of heart and promised the thief eternal life.

He answers that question in this very video. If you CAN be baptized and REFUSE to be baptized as the Bible instructs, then you are probably in rebellion. Why would you choose to NOT be baptized? If you want to be baptized and for some reason CAN'T be baptized, then God is not petty or unreasonable. That's a part of the reason why Jesus was baptized--for those who for some reason can not be. Isn't that beautiful? Our God cares.

The Bible says, "One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all". Ephesian 4:5-6. One baptism upon confession of our faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour is all we need! Repentance, if we have sinned can happen as often as needed... "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"-1 John 1:9 I pray that this may help you.

Doug Bachelor / BaT chelor Your name changed for some of us. There's more to Life & Existence than a book can teach you. When you think everything is so small, the universe shows you how vast & complex it is. This is who we really are & it's far from just being a servant just told to obey, fear & serve. It's easy for someone else for someone to take advantage of you since you have no mind or will of your own. God says to stop being so judgemental & teaching things only in absolutes. He doesn't work that way. You're supposed to be teaching the Right things & these are simple to learn & live by. Living out of the past & it's mistakes isn't creating better people & better futures. It isn't the people you taught the wrong things to who are blind, it is only yourself. He's going to wake you up abruptly one day, but don't be afraid, he won't pass judgement or condemn you. He's going to help give you back yourself & your future. A person isn't strong in faith only because they serve & obey alone. It's how well they love & have compassion for others. Self respect & respect for others. No good ever came from fear & forced servitude. It just makes slaves of people who are supposed to be people alone. We are far from lost or powerless. It isn't the evil & darkness you are trying to continually battle outside, it's attacking you from within your own beliefs in a way you don't expect or realize. To fight this isn't just finding God or shaking in your boots, it's remembering who you really are & what truly makes you strong. It's 💖 Remember my words. 👼

Accepting Jesus alone won't save us. It's Jesus who accepts us not the other way around. So better obey and follow God's way of salvation and that's the Acts 2:38. Yah bless.

You’re awesome pastor I’ve been listening to you for many years ! But what about The thief that believed in him on the cross? “And there was also a superscription over him, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS. And one of the malefactors that were hanged railed on him, saying, Art not thou the Christ? Save thyself and us. But the other answered, and rebuking him said, Dost thou not even fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said, Jesus, remember me when thou comest in thy kingdom. And He said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with Me in Paradise” (Lk. 23:38-43. There was no time for Baptist here! ---- “Why do you insist that baptism is essential for salvation? While hanging on the cross, Jesus pardoned the thief who was crucified with him. And that forgiveness was granted without baptism (Luke 23:43). Surely this is a clear example of salvation by faith, not by baptism.”

Yes & no. Even then a person's life is more than just being saved or not. All the doubt & the fear of this does is prevent a person from being themselves & it also deviates their futures as well. A human being should never live out of a book or it's fear. Tampered with this was to make us believe we were small & powerless, that's far from true. Isolating & Separating from others because they are different was never what God wanted. You were supposed to learn to be better than this. Truth isn't Truth on grounds of it being Truth, it should never be used like a weapon or a reason to attack & demonize others, they're people too like you. We aren't our religion's alone, but our hearts & spirits. This matters most even more than beliefs alone. You are colors that don't realize you are supposed to be colors, you're meant to be with others & not push your colors on others. Variety is the spice of life. We aren't just Black & White. You must learn & realize that there's other colors out here besides these. A person who is Spiritually Awake should never be color blind. You are more than Spirit, you are also Heart. It should never be as stone or judgemental, seeing things as one way or the other. God is far from this, because if he was, he wouldn't be God at all. Peace 👼

BREAD ….. You ask for it every time you Pray to the FATHER ! Matthew 6:11 “Give us this day our daily bread.” Deuteronomy 8:3 “And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.” Matthew 4:4 “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Every word FATHER has said ! John 6:33 “For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.” Is not the SON the FATHER in the Flesh ? Is not the FATHER the WORD ? Is not the BREAD LIFE ? John 6:48 “I am that bread of life.” John 6:50 “This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, And not die.” John 6:53 “Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, And drink his blood, ye have no life in you.” Did you see that there are TWO THINGS That YOU have to ……. DO….. for LIFE ? #5315 (eat is a verb) φάγω [φάγομαι] phago {fag'-o} -Greek Word Study (Transliteration-Pronunciation Etymology & Grammar) 1) a maker, a producer, author 2) a doer, performer 2a) one who obeys or fulfils the law From BREAD……and……BLOOD ! So bread is the words of the Father ! And the Word is in the Flesh ! And if you Eat the Word you will Live ! And the Blood is …… Revelation 1:5 “And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,” Having the FAITH that HE is the BLOOD SACRIFICE for our sins ! That is why the Jews had to believe that for FAITH ! They were already eating the flesh … The TORAH ! We as Gentiles need BOTH to have LIFE ! Matthew 12:50 “For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.” James 1:22 “But be ye Doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” #4163 (doers a verb) ποιητής poietes {poy-ay-tace'} from G4160; TDNT - 6:458,895; n m -Greek Word Study (Transliteration-Pronunciation Etymology & Grammar) 1) a maker, a producer, author 2) a doer, performer 2a) one who obeys or fulfils the law From 1 John 3:7 “Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.” Psalms 119:172 “My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness.” I pray that this is a blessing to you. Bless you

Think about it Doug... Rare cases!? What are u talking about! U think God will say to some people “these are rare/special cases”. When are u going to get the point that Christ paid an ultimate sacrifice for everyone (no special person(s). Baptism is just as clear and simple like all the other laws and James 2:10 says whosoever shall keep the whole law and yet offends in one, is guilty of all. Whatever we do as Christians, we must acknowledge what Christ said pre-cross and post-cross. There’s never really a testament until the death of the testator (Hebrews 9:16). Nothing changed (not even the law) until the death/resurrection of Christ our Lord. God bless you all.

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. John 3:5 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38 The bible says that baptism in the name of Jesus Christ is for the remission of sins and that it saves us. Acts 2:38, 1Peter 3:21, Acts 22:16, Mark 16:16. The bible teaches that when a person receives the gift of the Holy Ghost that it will be manifested by speaking in other tongues (real languages that you have never learned). Acts 2:4, Mark 16:17, Acts 10:46, Acts 19:6 etc. Born of water = water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. Born of the Spirit = receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in new toungues. There is no such thing as accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour to become a Christian in the bible. No apostle of Jesus Christ ever heard of such a thing. There is no "sinners prayer for salvation" found anywhere in the new testament. You must obey the gospel of Jesus Christ Acts 2:38 to be saved from your sins.

No you don’t have to be baptised to saved what the bible teaches you that you saved by grace through faith alone read through the bible carefully. Love the lord Jesus and God witch is in heaven with all your heart and soul and believe in Jesus you shall be saved. Salvation is a free grift of God. Plus the thief that who died on the cross with THE LORD JESUS that the thief did not get baptism but he still made it into heaven because he believe in the lord Jesus Christ and for that he was saved

Baptism is a publc testimony that shows that you are a new person in Jesus Christ. The thief on the cross is an exemption because of the special circumstances he was going through at that particular moment. One more thing, baptism must be done in the name of Jesus, not in the name of the false and pagan Trinity.

What if I do not want to be baptized in the name of Jesus but of YESHUA? Which is the true name of the Messiah. Jesus is a man given name NOT by God. Yeshua means, "GOD SAVES". Through Yeshua we may be saved for whoever believes in Him. You know that Yeshua taught that He comes in the name of His Father?

@@mrs.bartlett6047 the name Jesus was not given by God. When He told Yosef to name the Son, it was the name Yeshua meaning ADONAI SAVES. If you look up the history and origin of the name Jesus, it is not the given name of the Messiah by His Father. Jesus and Yeshua is not the same. Jesus as in the English language means saviour. Even though He died for our sins but His name meant God Saves. So in the name saviour, meaning only Jesus saved but not God.

@@LuLu-pu2xf Yeshua (ישוע, with vowel pointing יֵשׁוּעַ- yēšūă‘ in Hebrew) was a common alternative form of the name יְהוֹשֻׁעַ("Yehoshua" - Joshua) in later books of the Hebrew Bible and among Jews of the Second Temple period. The name corresponds to the Greek spelling Iesous, from which, through the Latin Iesus, comes the English spelling Jesus.[1][2 We just don't speak these languages because theyre not our natural tongue. Do you sacrifice lambs Doug? Have you sold all your belongings? Can you heal the sick or give sight to the blind? Can you handle poisonous snakes? Do you speak in tongues? Yes, this is as ridiculous as members of the Body of Christ under our gospel delivered to our Apostle Paul--getting baptized. I love you Doug but boy are you confused about our gospel. You Judaize our gospel to your own destruction which in turn, promotes the destruction of your followers. By doing so, you are obligated to keep the entire law including 613 precepts, and you and your followers have fallen from grace. 100% biblical! If anyone requires verse-by-verse proof, please ask and I'll provide

Jeremiah 31:31-33 (UKJV) Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will make a *new covenant* with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, says the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, says the LORD, *I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts;* and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Same law as that was written on stone by God but now in the new covenant, it is written in the heart. The 10 commandments has existed even before Israel, or any Jew for that matter, was born. If it isn't so, Adam would not have sinned. Romans 5:12-13 (UKJV) says: Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (For until the law sin was in the world: but *sin is not imputed when there is no law.* Obedience will not secure our salvation but it is the fruit of our faith. God bless
