The necro might see some good use from that gem. As long as his summons will keep the monsters attention allowing the necro to attack from behind. My barb has that one summon that can keep the RG (rift guardian) attention long enough for me to attack from behind.

Cutthroat can be great for Wizards bc if you select helm that leaves a shadow of yourself when using teleport you can get minions to attack it while u hit from behind

I'm a Lvl 135 DH, 3.1K CR 780 Res, rolling with R2 BSJ, R2 SB, R2 ES, R5 P&C, R10 Ca'rsen's & R5 LC My personal experience about "Bloody reach" is as follows: Only in a very few places (FT is the one I remember) you can actually see a distance count over your head and to me 8 "in game" yards ended up showing as like 20 "real life" yards. As a mater of fact, I was barely able to see the final countess boss in my screen, in order to keep that 8 yards in game distance count on top of my head. Based on that I ended up changing Bloody reach, because my final conclusion is that, in order to achieve the max damage potential, I had to be so far away from enemies that I barely could see them! So much to a point that I wasn't even sure if I was being able to hit them at all! I'd love to hear other DH players experiences with this gem!

I'm skeptical on the Bloody Reach love, TBH. It sounds great in theory, but have you looked at where a monster has to be to be 8 yards away? Try picking a quest navigation objective and seeing where it is to say 8yards off. That's right at the edge of your screen. I figured I was only averaging the 4 yard bonus (half) and by that point there's better options to consider. 8+ also seems to be about where the autotarget sometimes decides to stop locking and I've definitely had cases where going for that extra range damage boost cost me shots from even hitting.

You are tripping about Fervant Fang it is by far the best of them all. Dont even worry about the elite extra damage just the stacking damage bonus alone is bis. Also, cutthroat is amazing as if you play with a crusader regulatory it is a straight up damage buff.

this ^ completly agree, basically with not even a single rank upgrade gives 8% extra dmg, is like a berserker eye but with higher extra dmg and without the drawback and with more resonance since it is 2 stars, the elite extra dmg is just like a plus since all gems have an extra stuff when ranking up, but is like meh, the extra dmg is what make it great, i think he did misread or misinterpreted what the gem does

I have had the hungerer has saves me in both challenge rifts and open world on several occasions. If you pair it with the right damage it can be very effective.

Cutthroat is great even with a crusader in party. Crusader gives 100% Critchance at the loss of Critdamage but it applies back all your critchance as critdmg. So you basically have an 8% damage buff all the time your crusader pops and you are standing behind the enemy!

You're Right I am a Necro..When my minions are fighting the Boss is usually facing them it's easy to slip behind them and do your damage..

you jsut described rank 1 stats, these gems have verygood attributes when you rank them up. Battleguard pass through enemies when at 60% hp when ranked and 24% damage reduction for mellee, helsp a lot against monk and barbarian you dives towards you

You made 8000 platinum multiple times for Power and Command?! That's insane. On my server all 1* gems are no more than 1.2k all 2* gems are around 3k-3.5k with Power and Command being 4k.. 2/5* BSJ IS 64k being the most the other 2/5 range from 25k-50k

Followers burden is currently better on pve necro then Blood Soaked jade, this is due to a bug where the jade currently doesn't apply it's damage bonus to minions despite having the exact same text as other gems that do like Follower's burden.

For a necro using pets would power and command basically benefit all of the time? As in, pets count as skills and then you normal attack, so you're using skills and basic pretty much the whole time

the info on Fervent Fang is just wrong, Battle pass & random gem crafting isn't the only ways to get Fervent Fang. Boon of Plenty also offer Fervent Fang.

Fervent Fang is amazing. Ignore the elite side bonus, the main bonus works on everything and even pvp. Can stack 10 hits to max, from incinerate + fire proc’s, in less than 4 seconds and there is no timer that I’m aware of. If the battle goes long, I presume the fang bonus is there until the target dies, so you’ll get plenty of mileage out of its bonus. Also bonus scales (resonance, not sure?)… but mine currently says 1.07% per hit to max at 10.7% at moment instead of 8% and I imagine players with more upgrades than me, will see something much higher than that even.

I just tried out cutthroat last night on my demon hunter to get some more crit chance and I found you get behind enemies more often then I originally thought, it seems to run off a 50/50 body position mechanic from front half and back half so even if I'm on their flank just behind their shoulder I've been seeing a crit. I also have been running the knife trap that locks them in place for some of the faster enemies. All and all a gem I wouldn't have given the time of day on any other class I've grown to enjoy on my demon hunter.

I want to upgrade a 2-5 star rank 3 gem. I have a 2-5 star rank 1 and 3-5 star rank 1 to use for upgrading. I was hoping to use the 2-5 star rank 1 to upgrade to rank 4, then use the 3-5 star rank 1 to upgrade to rank 5. But I don’t know if I can afford going from rank 4 to 5 on a 5 star gem…. The stacking damage of Fervent Fang is no joke. 24% at level 10 after 10 hits. Great for a DPS like DH who can get up to that in like 2 seconds. Even with perfect control of using your skills to take advantage of Power and Command you would lose to Fervent Fang.

@@nakzbatv7921 You can get Fervent Fang as a F2P but it's not a F2P gem as you would require a lot of them either from the Boon pass or Empowered Battle pass. As far as the damage goes there was a website that mentioned the 24% damage stack. I have a rank 5 currently and at rank 6 the damage increase goes from 1.35 to 1.7%. This occurs every 2 levels so at 8 and 10 it would jump again until it hits 2.4% meaning at 10 consecutive hits it's 24%.

I think cutthroat is best on a barbarian as he can WW through the enemy to their back constantly for bosses. Especially when you stack the crit from their legendary offhand that gives crit during WotB.

I feel like Berserkers is far worse than people give it credit for since everything that increases the damage you get should be avoided at all cost. If you have something that gives you no negative effects, take that over something that gives a positive and a negative if the bonus isn't overwhelmingly good. Maybe if you bring Berserkers to Rank 7 and up it starts being good but still, getting 5% more dmg is far too great of a negative. There is no way of avoiding everything you face and taking a Hungerer you can easily craft is far better than any 1* for survival and a 2* rank 3 is almost twice as good as a 1* rank 5 with nearly the same cost

People are giving Cutthroat TOO MUCH CREDIT! There are builds where it is a complete waste. Some tips on Whirly Barb: I used Cutthroat at first on Whirly barb. It is terrible for that build, particularly because your hit has to tick at the same time as you are facing forward toward their back. Meanwhile, Fervent Fang is solid. Also, Hunger is NECESSARY on Whirly Barb. NECESSARY. Healing plus attack speed is BiS for us. Power & Command is BiS for Whirly Barb, as you can use you Primary Attack dmg increase while Whirlwind comes back off cooldown, then hit the skill dmg when you are whirling. Even when doing rift clears, it is solid on mobs every nine seconds. What makes it BiS is that back and forth on bosses.
