I 100% agree. Sadly, Biden is just a Republican in disguise, and a bad disguise at that. He is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Even worse yet, the Republicans have already confirmed Trump is their 2024 candidate. We need to unite, and prevent this shit from happening. BY FAR, THE WORST PART is the Republicans have already made a giant statue of Trump, supposedly in solid gold. Yep. Trump supporters are literally worshipping a golden idol. They conveniently forget how their own bible commands them to NOT worship idols, and how their own bible is full of stories about them killing entire civilizations, BECAUSE that civilization worshipped idols. And it was not just kill the men. It was also slaughter the women AND slaughter the children, AND THEN slaughter their livestock. Completely wipe all traces of them off the map. Their god even fired King Saul from being king, BECAUSE Saul kept the goats. I mean how evil do you need to be to slaughter children? But then, how evil do you need to be to fire your own king because he didn't kill THEIR LIVESTOCK. Is THAT the kind of god you want to serve? Seriously. And yet, that is the god Trump supporters serve. Of course, idiots are all America has. Green Day got that one correct.

There was a video a while back showing how to set up a Gibson so that it stays in tune. The person took a Gibson, tuned it, played it, went out of tune, re-tuned it, played it, went out of tune and repeated a few times. Then set it up and then it stayed in tune. The only thing I can remember was one of the cures for the "G" string going out was to file the nut at the headstock so that it's wider, because it's too small for the string. The nut pinches the string and when you bend it, it doesn't go back to the original tension spot when the string is released. There was some other adjustments which I can't remember exactly. If you're thinking if its that simple why doesn't Gibson make their guitar headstock nuts so that the strings can slide through them without getting pinched, ...i'm 100% behind you. The same with the other adjustments. I really don't remember what they were, but I was wondering why the hell don't they fix that problem at the factory. I'm starting to remember ...I think there's a problem with the bridge and how it's bolted onto the body. I believe the bridge has a tendency to shift. If your bridge on your guitar is moving, guess that would through all 6 strings out. I believe the video addressed how to fix that. Which again ...why is Gibson releasing guitars to the public with all those manufacturing defects?? It's an insult to their customers. Cheers!!

@@SilentNightBodomNight I just remembered ...that channel recommended putting graphite on the headstock nut. You can get tubes of it at Lowe's for under $3.00. In my band, our bassist is probably our best member, he records most of his songs in just one or two takes, and he’s on fingers. Make it small, but rewarding. I'd go out and weed between the gaps of my stepping stones because the weeds don't hold tight and it's seriously amazing to see it go from ugly and messy to tidy, clean lines. Something like wiping a bench or vacuuming. Just a small but meaningful task that can positively motivate you when you feel exhausted after a nap. Water. Water is liquid life. A glass of cold water after a nap will make you feel incredible! Try shorter naps. Set for an hour, nap for 30 to 45 minutes and then you have 15 minutes to get your bearings when you wake up. 11:05 You are quite right with the 4 tube 2 tube power amplifier thing. Most, if not all, 100 Watt power amp stages have 4 power tubes and most 50 Watt power amp stages have 2 power tubes. On some 100 Watt amplifiers you can reduce them to 50 Watts by just removing 2 tubes but you have to know which two. Get it wrong and you may damage the amp. One exception to the 2 tube 4 tube thing are amps like the Vox AC30. It's a 30 Watt amp with 4 power tubes. The reason for this is because it's biased very hot which gives it it's lush hi-fi sound quality but they double up the power tubes so each pair of tubes is handling half of the power. You can feel the heat coming off a Vox and they smell like old televisions. Hope my explanation makes sense.

The Tube question: Yes, is makes a difference. But how much, that really depends. if you pair 2 or 4 perfectly (!!!) matched tubes, there shouldn't be any audible differences regarding the glass bottles, except for Volume, of course. On that note, if you wanna double the perceived volume, tenfold the power. more like 30% more. but that aside... A power amp is the sum of all things. e.g. you have a 100W rated Poweramp vs a 50W rated one, the output transformer will have to be different as well, so you can induce some tonal variations there. In the end, there will be differences, but they vary from tube to tube and if those glassbottles work the way they should, there are going to be SO MANY other things in an amp design that matter way more than that. Cheers! PS1 there are so many different power amp tube types out there, you haven't probably heard from 90% of them... chances are, you mix two random numbers with two capital letters you hit one. PS2 it's obviously not only 50/100 but also 15/30, 7/14, single ended in parallel, pushpull class A and so on and so forth... it' complicated :D

@felinekaiju45173 жыл бұрын
I nap for 10 - 15. That's as long as I'm able to nap before I come.back around and it does the job, unless I've not had a proper night's sleep.
@216trixie3 жыл бұрын
@@felinekaiju4517 10 to 15 is fine. Even 5 minutes naps work. Just don't go longer than 25 or 30 or you dip into the deep cycle of sleep. It takes about an hour and a half to come out of it.

Seeing as how Mustaine has moved from brand to brand his entire career, it’s not surprising he went to the “next step” in the guitar ladder. There could be some internal politics that made Dave leave, but it’s not really new. However, my opinion: Dave leaving Dean was a mistake. 4 words: Explorer head, V body 🤢

Hey Glennnn! Great channel keep up the awesome content and reviews! In a studio situation, what are your thoughts on using different speakers in the same 4x12 cab to have more options when recording? I was thinking instead of buying more space consuming cabs why not run 4 different speakers in the same cab ( perhaps have a switch to only engage the desired speaker?) and mic up the one I’m feeling on the day. Would this cause more chaos than the money and space I would save or has this idea been used before?

Woooo ahhhh, Glenn Fricker drum samples, can I use them with my EZ drummer 2? Sounds like a dumb question, but if I can get some midi block samples from you so I can use them with my EZ drummer I would be interested in buying. Keep on rocking Glenn!

GLEN! Have you had a chance to try out a Celestion Redback. Supposedly it's a greenback that can handle 150W of power at 8 ohms. I've heard Matt Heafy use them in an iso box on his twitch streams, but everything he plays is dialed in to sound like Trivium, so it's hard to gauge what it sounds like.

Im a finger bass guy because I idolized stave harris as a kid and went with fingers , plus its kinda hard to do slap with a plectrum (Not that I really do much slap these days, it sounds a bit dated tbh).. However sonetimes I'll use a pick if I want that sharper attack. So .... use the right tool for the job. Fingers are wild especially for funk and the like, picks are great for a tight hard attack that doent need cross string techniques. Its all good. Just use new strings where possible and practice with a metronome if your timings a bit shifty (And tap your foot, it helps root you in the groove) and you'll be fine whatever you choose.

I don't slap, but I switch between fingers and pick (majority being pick though) all the time...often several times in one song. What works is what works.

I've heard samples played through Vintage 30's and 70/80's. I actually prefer the 70/80 over the Vintage 30's. If I had the money, I'd buy the Harley Benton cabs with Vintage 30's, sell them, and buy the *cheaper* 70/80's. The 70/80's seem to have a fuller frequency response that I find pleasing to my ear. I don't know why the Vintage 30 is so popular.

Pick VS Fingers, the right one is what the bass player brings to the song. I know he isn’t metal, but listen to anything by John Entwhistle (The Who). He used both picks and fingers, sometimes even in the same song.

Question about 2 power tubes vs 4 ones - I prefer 4 tubes, because it’s easy just remove 2 tubes and just use 16 ohm with 8 ohm cab (or 8 ohm output for 4 ohm cab) if you really needs 2 tubes.

Can’t not wait for smg drum samples!!!!!!!!!! I have large Roland drum setup and I’m always looking for new drum sounds. I also own Alesis strike module and it is capable of putting multi layer drum samples into its memory unfortunately only 200 mb kit limitation. Still that’s a bad ass feature and I Glen will do a fantastic job of recording high quality drum samples and give us drummers/home producers a drum sample library that is different pallet from all of the other libraries that are available now like EZD,SD3,GGD,PD2........ the list goes on. I’m most definitely willing to support your craft with buying that product and I’m very excited to hear your hard work

I have a live drum kit and I wanted to record it for a college application. Unfortunately I’ve only been playing for a month and my playing wasn’t consistent and all I had was a condenser mic 4 feet away on a stand. The drums were ok but I didn’t like my playing so I just programmed the drums in GarageBand and they sound really good. Hopefully soon I can make a nicer sounding set up, as well as working on my chops.

People do cuestas in hot countries because it's too hot to work in the middle of the day. So to get a full work day in they get up earlier and start working around 4:00 am to 5:00 am to 6:00 am. The problem with getting up that early to work means going to bed at sunset which means, "NO NIGHT LIFE". So they stay up late party, only sleep about 4 or 5 hours, and catch up during the day with a cuesta nap because it's too hot to work. In dry arid desert regions the complete lack of humidity pulls your water out of your body faster making you more prone to heat exhaustion and heat stroke ...so even those who do go to bed early and get full rested before getting up at 3:00 am to be at work for 4:00 am take their cuestas to get out of the heat and spend the time with family, home chores or shopping. Didn't know this until I moved to Arizona ...this is what the Mexicans tell me. .

Brand loyalty in the world of guitars also has a very important aspect behind it: visual. I, for example, think that Jackson and some BC Rich guitars are fucking gorgeous and would gladly pay extra $300 for a King V or JRV over an ESP/LTD V with the same specs. And some people underestimate the neck profile difference between brands. Nothing feels like a Dean ML neck.

Okay... Y'ALL. I officially fucking hate being sent MIDI drum files from session players. Mix engineers are never able to work with them, so I have to sit there and try to figure out which note goes to which drum. OR I have to go back and ask for separate drum tracks. WHY????
@tlinrin8873 жыл бұрын
If all else is the same yes 4 tubes just means twice the power as 2 tubes. But there is so much more in a amp design that determines its power output you could have 4 6v6s in single ended parallel and still only have a 20 watt amp versus 2 6v6's in a push pull configuration making the same 20 watts.

you can nap for about 20 minutes before you get that 'more tired than when i started feeling' and napping for an hour cuts heavy into rem sleep, which is going to make you more tired, Glenns two hours give room to relax and calm down and get the needed hour and a half for one rem cycle on average.

People forget that just because you can acquire the plugins and amp simulators and record at home, doesn't automatically mean you'll get a great result. At the end of the day, if you want your shit to sound good, you still need to hire a guy who can mix worth a damn and get you the result you're going for. Or, by all means, spend 10+ years learning to do it yourself. It'll be cheaper to let me or Glenn do it, though. And faster.

Another great speaker that has like 0 recognition, Weber TøneCvlt Ceramic Gray Wolf's (75w), have them in an X-pattern with Celestion G12K-85's in my Recto 4×12" cab and that thing is monstrous sounding!!! The G12K-85s were handed down to me from my uncle and I had them laying around and started experimenting, and only bought the Gray Wolf because of the name lmfao 🤣, happy accident but fits my sound. I'm running this with a Peavey 6534+ loaded with KT77's.

I bought a vmnt angel of deth used. I bought it a few weeks ago i like it, it has everything i could want for that style guitar. The neck shape is comfortable , it seems to stay in tune well. I think the only drawback is in higher registers bending gets to be harder depending on tuning and string gauge. Mine is in e standard at the moment have not had time get it set up yet.

If a million people didn't mention it already and you didn't notice, the video title says "mustiane"! The new Kramer was pretty cool! To be honest I don't think Mustaine's ever been that loyal to a company. Either that or he got very into experimenting with brands after the Jackson era. Remember the Rocktron Prophesy? Some awful pedals and stuff? New guitar brand every few years? Saying he's always been a Marshall guy, playing their stuff, but their racks always seemed to have the newest Bradshaw approved gear. Absolutely love the idea of no pants reviews. You're a nice guy I hear and you got some well thought out points. You got this branding of yelling Glenn, but a little branching out never hurt. And it's always nice to prove people that you're not just a gimmick. Sometimes you just have to scream at stupid comments. But I'm sensing quite a bit of that "wise old man" flavor piercing through here and there these days. Like that guy a lot. Napping is a weird thing. Sometimes it works perfectly and sometimes you just lie dead tired but too stressed out. But as you grow older, napping likely becomes more of a thing. At least people in the rural areas like to get a little nap around here. Even if sleep deprivation is a thing here as well. A good 7 hours or + depending on your person and age really does feel good. The thing with naps that's great is not just emergency patching if you're tired, but if you are mentally exhausted, it gives you a break. A real lights out break. From the perspective of someone with digestion problems, sometimes I feel super beat up when waking up with a little short sleep, stomach upside down, but after a nap a new person gets up. So it might be more full package trick than we might think. One alternative to V30 might be the Celestion 65. Some people say it's the best speaker Celestion ever made, but surprisingly you don't see it anywhere. After trying out WGS ET65, I can say I liked it. Maybe it's too "old school" voiced though, for metal. Despite greenbacks etc being often used, referring to a different character with "old school". You're basically correct about 2 tubes vs 4 tubes being 50 W vs 100 W, as long as the tubes are rated around 25 W. 4x EL84 for example wouldn't be 100 W since a single EL84 is rated around 12 W. Obviously 6L6GC is rated at 30 W, but the power section and transformer design makes a bit of a difference as well. Plus often times the labeled amp power rating isn't the accurate measured rating, just a pointer in the correct range. The gist of it is what you said. Guilty pleasures, you basically can't listen to most old metal and say it's an excellent mix. Very few bands were Metallica level production. Thanks for an interesting friday talk!
