Even as a little kid, I always saw them as two separate people simply because one was very clearly a god, while the other is just king. One can cast magic with his bare hands, the other needs a magical trident. One is essentially from a different dimension that can't be ordinarily reached, while the other is from a kingdom that can be physically reached quite easily. I never saw it that confusing of a topic. It is unfortunate that real world decisions effect in universe lore.

0:43 This actually weirdly happened to this amazing fanfic I was reading that just ruined it for me. Even though the story ended, the editor of it literally made three more chapters for no reason (somehow got permission) and they were about the main character getting pregnant 3 times, all the times having twins (SO 6 KIDS!!!). Idk what the fck they were on but for such an angsty and very well-written fanfic about repressed childhood trauma and this whole concept of "psychic blindness" idk how a pregnancy fetish was allowed as the "extra stories" for readers

This theory has been speculated on another channel. The Neptune's have a backstop. Aliens exist in spingebob and they wanted to gove powers to king Neptune but the wrong one got the powers.. the bulky guy got the powers but they were meant for the other Neptune. Neptune started out as the Roman god of freshwater, but around 400 B.C., the Romans started linking him with Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea. He might be similar to the Irish god Nechtan, who was in charge of rivers and wells. Unlike Poseidon, who was mostly known as the god of the sea, Neptune was more about inland waters. Neptune was also connected to other Roman gods. So Neptune started out as somewhat of a different god than Poseidon; until the Romans connected him to Poseidon. Okay, useless information is done!
