Great video, i tried a bunch of different things, bore butter, ballistol and water. What my gun likes best is Soap and water mix . The wife makes soap, i use the scraps, grate them and un about 1 cup water boil to desolve. One of my rendezvou buddies said dont use detergent. It has chemicals. So i use soap and water.

Ballistol was World War One, not Two. Think Kaizer’s soldiers…not Nazi. Works on metal, wood stocks and leather straps. Can also be mixed with water…making “Moose Milk” for use to clean muzzle loaders and black powder revolvers….mixed 5 to 1 or 10 to 1. I use it at a 5 to 1 mix for mine. Good how to video. My grandfather served as an NCO in the Kaiser's army in Russia, wonder if they really used this back then? I use Ballistol, love it, BUT, it is made of mineral oil. Mineral oil is not good for leather or gun stocks, in spite of what the can says. I used to work for GRRW in the late 70's, been a custom riflemaker/bagmaker since then.

is there a difference between red and blue ticking? Why use one for hunting and one for target?

Because I am an American and from the day, we chew ourselves off our mother's umbilical cord to the day a wild animal eats us, we are fighters born to wrestle nature itself into submission and sometimes we make soup. Well not really, but if a guy wants to cut up a hotdog and fill a plastic bowl with hot tap water, it is not my place to tell him how to live his best life, I am no relationship expert by a longshot but on a first date this is the kind of soup that says yes I have skills but I am not thinking I am better than you, and chicks respond to that big time. It’s a baby making move for sure. In America you can bake and build a gingerbread house, or a village with a gumdrop wheelchair ramp if you want to, and if you are like me, you like a woman that was a bad seed but now, she just wants to grow into a good bush that becomes a shade tree one day. Here is what I can tell you if your neighbor gets a dog, you gonna hear it bark and sooner or later it will poop outside. But you know the color of the ticking you use and for what is your choice, you have a mind but you also have a heart, make sure you listen to both of them.
