It’s just soulless. Formulaic and without personality outside of the robotic stylization and game mechanics designed to suck every last penny out of your wallet while maintaining constant attention. MW2019 had me locked for months before it got stale, it felt new and different from the other CODs up until that point. Now, it’s just the usual. It’s like fast food.

Hey Nemsk, what's your theory on why its dying? To me, its because they are giving us less and less maps every new iteration of COD and focusing more and more on Warzone and Pay to Win dynamics. I found out recently that instead of jumping from rock to rock on that wall climb spot, you just have to angle your aim upwards while looking in the direction of the one that you want to transfer to then press C on your keyboard. I think the TTK being so fast limits exciting gamepla, so you’re often limited to engaging enemies that love to pre aim corners and play a much slower style. There’s isn’t much room for the engaging gunfights to take over like in the previous MW

The general gameplay loop, great, love it. Even better with a squad. But the lack of maps and the current maps we have are just tragic. There are so many classics just there in al-mazra. That's all i want. Im not too fussed about new weapons, and don't mind waiting for them to release. But the maps are making me and the boys skip times we would usually jump on together. More often we just chill in party and play single player stuff. Kinda sad cos the hype was real, thought we would get a bunch of classics maps etc. Not yet i guess.

Warzone is the answer to why COD MP is dying, pushing the MP aside by receiving 3 pieces of content and MWII receiving 1, no new challenges, the boring camo grinds that after completing them, what else? the classic 1 decent match after 5 shithole matches were you get destroyed.

I'll say its fun when you're playing with friends and you can mess around with them but it does get stale after a few matches. Its hard to stay engaged when one match you're doing well then the next few you're getting dookie'd on. Grinding camos can be a fun challenge but even that gets stale once you reach platinum. Their major focus is on how to make Warzone 2.0 better rather than the rest of the modes. I wish they would bring in DLC Spec ops missions like in MW3 or Survival mode/Chaos mode. We need more classic maps too, not just Shipment for the 3rd year in a row. They need to bring back Terminal, Rust, Favela, Quarry, Estate, High Rise; anything from the legacy series. There is potential and I know they are capable of putting out fun and creative content

I'm a pretty casual gamer but I play a decent amount. I've logged 5+ days in MWII MP and I still don't have Orion. I have everything else, but I'm doing headshots. What kills the MWII MP experience is the lack of content along with how boringly tedious the grind is. Before, you got gold on every gun and it gave you platinum for every weapon in the category, then you got gold on everything and you unlocked Damascus/DM, having you level the weapon, do the base camo challenges, then do bloodthirsties for gold, do gold on everything else, then do longshots for platinum, do platinum on everything else, then do headshots for poly, do headshots on everything else, and then you finally unlock a mid-tier camo to use on the grand total of like 3 original maps and the rest are remakes and areas you could just go to in DMZ.

I'm a new player myself. I haven't played a cod since Black ops. I picked this up and it's been fun but I bought it during Christmas so all I played was shipment. The game feels so SLOW. AND. BORING. Outside of shipment. The second best one was shoot house. The new ground war maps are kinda cool and dome is ok. But the game just feels too slow and empty. Ground war feels empty and there's nothing but roof snipers. Idk man, it just doesn't feel like a good game outside of shipment

Ranked play is enough for me. I've always just been a Nuketown/shipment 24/7 player thinking I was shit hot. Now I go into every lobby getting shit hung on me because my level is ridiculously high and just can't get myself out of plat II (was plat III for a single game 5 times and now am dangerously close to going back to plat I lol). Having something to grind for has always been what kept me at cod. This year's Camo grind was ridiculously easy and maxing out prestige and then getting nothing in return for half a season is as you wait for it to reset is where they killed the game. Getting rid of medals so I can can check I still have zero nuclears is what killed the game. Zero updates would be fine if the maps were good. Ranked though is rewarding and frustrating at the same time, but it's addictive. I need something to aim for if I'm going to put the hours in, whether it be getting 100 merciless medals, prestige infinity or a Camo that not everyone will get just by playing long enough.

It was a bummer for me from day 1, still a great playing shooter IW mechanics are still fantastic, but i felt the full effects of the SBMM immediately which soured the whole thing. Hated the maps, the operators are dull, cosmetics are so bland the first battle pass was awful, but i kept playing because of the strength of the shooting, season 2 comes along and wow, the new/old maps are the worst, the contents of the 2nd battle pass are incredibly poor, i'm not even that interested in grinding to unlock the free weapons. So at the moment i'm only playing it if i feel like it, which isn't often.

To be honest, I don't know what people mean when talking about lack of content. The game currently, in Season 2, has 23 maps, counting ground war and 6v6 maps aswell. Back then, during CoD MW (2019) life cycle, that game also had exactly 23 6v6 and Ground War maps, during it's Season 2 period. It doesn't have that much less content in my opinion. The only thing I miss is Gunfight, that's all.

No ways a new season means adding two recycled maps, an OP shotgun to keep little Timmy happy, and then added for stuff on the store for Timmy to buy. All they care about is warzone sadly , they don’t put any effort into a game everyone paid $70 for… and that’s not even including the battle pass. Which they specifically add broken guns to so that you are pretty much forced to buy it. The only thing that makes CoD get stale is the lack of content. Like BO1 and BO2 days were amazing. Paid DLCs were actually worth your money. The cosmetics in CoD now is not considered quality content. It's far from a "Boots on the Ground" experience.
