Nice demo. Pedal sounds bang on for Dookie and Insomniac. I hope mine arrives soon.

@@ShredShed My amps aren't anything impressive, but I'm enjoying them. I got the TC Electronic Mimiq recently, so I've got it set up into both amps. One amp is a Roland Cube 80XL, clean with the TC Mojomojo overdrive into it and the other is a 5 watt Subzero valve amp with the Xvive Golden Brownie distortion into it. The mix of both these pedals sounds great (in my opinion anyway). It gives a nice contrast I think. I'll be trying the Dookie through dual amps and combining it with my other drives/distortions to see what I can get. Should give me some killer tones.

You should’ve mentioned what speakers you’re using. Most people don’t realize it, but a lot of the tone occurs with the speaker.

This sounds kinda like my MXR (M75) Super Bad Ass Distortion. I think I hear a Pedal Fight!

Do you have to crank the output up fairly high to get it to sound good? I tried mine today on a Marshall AVT100 and thought it sounded nowhere near as good as the youtube demos. Is the AVT100 just a bad amp?
@ShredShed5 жыл бұрын
The ATV100 could definitely be the culprit. Most of the videos I have seen are running through a plexi style or at least a tube amp of some sort. When you goose the output volume it hits the front end really hard and breaks up more.
@PARK1N_855 жыл бұрын
Shred Shed how would you go about running this pedal through say a jcm 800 2203. Is it intended to hit the front end of the amp through the amps input or sit in the loop bypassing the preamp as it like an amp in a box type of pedal?
@ShredShed5 жыл бұрын
@@PARK1N_85 I ran this pedal Into the front of a JCM 800 2203 in this video. I think it sounds fine in the front end of an amp set on the cleaner side
@PARK1N_855 жыл бұрын
Shred Shed ahh i see so you would just turn the gain on the jcm down to zero?

What's the scoop for? That doesn't seem like part of the GD sound? Good job on the demo/playing, sounded tight.

Yo me, it sounded like switching the speaker cabinet. Im not sure if they intened that but thats what it sounds like. In short it scoops the mids out
@ShredShed5 жыл бұрын
It basically changes the midrange in the drive, sounds like a mic on axis vs off axis on a speaker. super useful switch
@kylebrady9694 жыл бұрын
Scoop I believe controls the midrange for the "Mete" side of the pedal only. I guess the way the two amps were set up during the recording sessions was Pete had a more midrange-driven sound while Mete was more like a scooped high-gain sound. How much the two amps were blended together depended on song and section.

big hum ! add a noise gate
@ShredShed5 жыл бұрын
If i we're to add a noise gate into this demo someone would absolutely complain I messed with the signal chain. Strats are noisy and It wasn't a video designed to sound perfect, just demo the pedal in question like the title states.

@@ShredShed I'd say it can be a good thing for some tight heavy metal, but for Green Day pop-punk, I agree it just wouldn't sound right at all lol. Like that raw sound is what makes the tone!

@@desenagrator I know, I was just pokin' for fun ; ) I have a few noise gates but using it for punk rock is counter intuitive
