Wonderful Pup. I never thought I'd liked old Japanese cars as much as I do. ..and that's a cool classic color. Keep up the great work. Passions are rarely financially responsible. That's part of what makes it so enjoyable.

I had an AE92 with the same engine and it was superb, hopefully your engine troubles are over as when it's sorted it's an amazing powerplant.

What a beauty that car is and the puppy is cute! It's good that you're getting the knowledge and you're fighting to keep this beauty going and letting people know about dodgy dealers. I've had a lovely Mitsubishi fto since 2001 but I was nearly ripped off by a Dodgy importer. Tried to sell me a lemon first. I wonder what one of these would be like with a 2JZ engine in it. Do not fit an adjustable electronic ECU to sort out the rev throttle issues

Maybe get the sound damping stick on pads they use for sound systems to put on those door panels. You can get them cheap last time I checked.

Really pleased to hear the good news on the pickup. But the Toyota is still giving you too many headaches. It'd be a big let down if, after all this, it can't be your daily classic. Could you reach out to another YT car channel for a bit of help? Or hopefully one of them will reach out to you. I'd love to see the Toyota make it as a reliable daily classic. It's journey won't be complete if it can't be that. And you've been so honest with every issue arising with the Toyota. As a new car enthusiast channel a collaboration between you, and a well established one would let us see the car become fit for purpose, and you getting expert advice from other enthusiasts that you can take with you into future projects. And we viewers can watch and learn that restoring a classic Corolla isn't for the faint of heart!

The electrical gremlins are a nightmare. Trust me I know. I took auto repair in school. Since you are having a cooling problem. I would use a larger radiator and bigger fans to cool her off. I would check with a Toyota Racing or Rally expert.

I'm not sure he's got the room. Would you think maybe a manual override switch inside when he's getting feedback that the fan isn't coming on? I'm in the US and have done that with a 65 mustang.

Couple of thoughts, sounds like a sticky iac valve. Pull it apart and spray it out with crc2016 safe on anything. Check if there isn't 2 temp sensors, the thermo fan has a separate one on some and it might be the wrong one or they got swapped. Don't take out the thermostat it will confuse the controller and not cool efficiently.

nice car🥰🥰

If it’s anything like the 1uz v8 if you remove the thermostat it overheats because it block a coolant bypass when it open?also on them,if the battery goes flat the ecu goes into a learn mode and doesn’t run properly for the first few starts until it self learns, maybe something to look into/try,or swap your idle control valves over from old engines?you can buy different thermo switch kits of eBay for radiator fans so they come on at different temps aswell

Could the idling/running issue be something to do with the idle control valve possibly? Just a complete shot in the dark with what the issue could be but the issues do point in that kind of direction to me... another good video as usual Nate.

Sorry Nate, but I laughed the second you said it stinks. I've been there. I was just about to ask about the truck.i feel your pain on the electrical gremlins. How long have you left it to idle? WTF? 3 different starts with 3 different idles? Sounds like someone fed the gremlins after midnight before you bought it.

I think you need to clean your throttle body your throttle body is sticking and your idle air control valve is why it's running rough.

Aesthetically, it’s a nice car. However, it’s a lemon. If I were you, I’d do what needs to be done in order to sell it and the parts from the 510. I’d cut my losses and take a break from buying cars. I’d cherish the Lexus and the Pickup. I’d throw all of my money at making the Pickup perfect. It’s your life, but I hate seeing you suffer.
