The first tip is soo true. Before, I would barely exercise and had a lot of stress from college, so my hair only grew 0.9 cm in a month even if I was eating well. But after I started exercising 3-5 times a week I noticed it now grows 1.5 cm in a month. I'm happier now, not just because my hair is growing faster, but overall I feel in a better mood, I'm barely stressed and more energetic. My body is more toned and I even sleep better. Edit: For those who are wondering 1 inch = 2.54cm and half of an inch is 1.27 cm.

@@glamglam8347 I said CENTIMETRES(cm). An inch is 2.54 cm and half of an inch is 1.27 cm, so it's not a inch but its a bit more than it's half. According to some articles on Google: "On average, hair tends to grow between 0.5 and 1.7 centimeters per month. This is equivalent to around 0.2 to 0.7 inches. This estimate comes from The Trichological Society. However, lots of different factors affect the speed of hair growth"

1. Keeping my hair stretched and in protective styles. In my case, plaits (with no added hair). 2. Cleansing my hair one small section at a time. 3. Detangling my hair one small section at a time. 4. Deep conditioning after every wash. 5. Oiling my edges, nape, and ends at least 4-5 times per week. 6. Sleeping in silk or satin scarves and on silk or satin pillow cases. 7. Finger detangling only (except when my hair is straightened). 8. Protecting (cocooning) my ends with satin scrunchies. 9. Using quality, sulphate-free, moisturizing shampoos. 10. Using conditioning cleansers (co-washes), which, I think are largely slept on. 11. Using better-quality products. 12. Cutting way back on heat. 13. Avoiding hair ties, ponytails, buns, and tight hairstyles. 14. Being very gentle with my hair. 15. Applying my organic, homemade, oil-based hair butter to my ends and edges daily. ❤️

Coccooning! Thanks! I watch your videos I'm hopes you'll"okay" in it! Hair crush! 5 months into at least a year of non-stop mini twists. They're my favorite! Quite a while back you demonstrated a special way to detangle tiny sections by separating the sections in opposite (up vs down) directions (horrible recap.i know). That's probably the only reason why I've had success without losing patience and literally cutting sections of my hair. Thanks! Anytime you want to play in your hair on KZbin, feel free

Hi Asha! Absolutely loving the content per usual. I have tried end cocooning before, however, I do recognize that I have a scissor happy ends tendency habit that I need to get rid of. I naturally have very wild/wiry looking hair that looks "damaged" to most persons when it's not. I do have a question, in your professional opinion as a Trichologist, what are your thoughts on dermarolling for individuals who once had high density hair but has sparsed out a bit?

Do apple cider vinegar rinses after working out and certain oil cleanse the scalp and are anti inflammatory such as tea tree oils and/or rosemary oil and rub in the scalp. A black scientist on KZbin was talking about how ph levels can lower or raise porosity. She was saying apple cider vinegar closes hair cuticles because of it's ph. What is your take on ph levels and such?

@@DivestedFromBlackistannI don't know for sure because the scientist was very textbook but black hair may or may not apply to textbook info because it is mainly written by Caucasians. I was asking her because she is a trichologist so maybe she have different insight to add or other info that might help me understand PH and natural hair from the view of someone with long type 4 hair. I ask because i don't study hair or scalp and wanted multiple views. Maybe I did not word my original comment correctly. That is my fault.

@@DivestedFromBlackistann I have also heard multiple views from experts on oiling hair including Naturally High's video and that helped me decide the place for oil in my regimen. That's why i ask. Sorry for misunderstanding.

@@favourpauls mini twists/braids help me grow my hair from neck length to waist length in 2 years! I recommend doing the twists with hair grease (wash hair with a sulfate shampoo to get rid of the grease) and keep the twists/braids for at least four weeks at a time. Hope this helps!

@@lanadeux4120 do you wash your hair during the time your hair is in kinks? Would washing your hair weekly cause damage or breakage?
@lanadeux4120
@lanadeux4120 2 жыл бұрын
@@miriacarolina4400 I prefer not to wash my hair in twists because my hair tends to get matted at the roots. Some people don’t have a problem with this though. Weekly washing doesn’t cause breakage per se, but washing is a form manipulation and that can lead to breakage over time. I used to wash weekly and I retain much more length with monthly washing. If you want to wash weekly I suggest finger detangling over using combs and brushes to reduce breakage :)
