My 2024 Lexus GX 550 Gets Lifted, Forged Wheels, & 35" Tires!

In this vlog we finally get to modifying the 2024 Lexus GX550. We get the westcott 2.5" lift kit installed, the Hybrid Forged 22" Vossen wheel, & a set of Nitto Recon Grapplers! Let me know what y'all think!!

Wow looks amazing.. I have. 2024 GX550 and want to do a similar setup but with 20 inch as I don’t want to make to many changes besides tires and rims, vossens 20 inch for sure maybe with Nitto tires without a lift kit but not sure if I need it..

I have a 2007 gx470 fully built NA 550hp ALL MOTOR 2UZ, 272 cams plus a shit ton more and lifted on 36's, absolutely love this vehicle, it's my baby and always turns heads as the long tube headers with NO cats OR mufflers dump right under your feet and it sounds like a fn NASCAR when you get on it, yet its actually not that loud after you start it and yiur not on the throttle...but when you open that thing up...people are confused and can't believe it's not a sports car or something else besides a lexus SUV lol (people get so butthurt when I call it a truck lol) honestly the GX platform is the most versatile and capable platform that is able to traverse just about any real world application and has endless possibilities and great aftermarket support and following....I'm building a 1UZ now and procharging it, should be around 850-900hp at full boost when said and done with a proper tune and multiple output tunes for towing, sand, mud, etc! Sorry lol, I could talk about this kind of shit all day! That being said, and getting to the point, your GX is beautiful and tastefully modded. one suggestion that I would make is to "smoke" that red out in the tail lights and red bar that goes across the hatch, it stands out a bit with what you have going and I believe it would look a bit more proper if you smoked them out a couple tint levels up; maybe the headlight lenses too, but just one shade darker on those! That's my only input....or maybe be the first to procharge that fucker with 900 hp and REALLY piss off your wide and neighbors! Keep up the good work and nice build sir!! Bonus: she'd prolly never wanna drive it if you did that lol!!

@Wimya 1jz is AS good as the 2jz until 600-700hp...then the 2jz is the better choice as that extra .5 of a liter of displacement comes into play. As far as that goes..I like the 1UZ 4.0 liter V8 out of the LS 400! You can stroke it to 4.7 (same as the 2UZ in my GX470) and the cylinder walls are 2mm thicker than the 2UZ and you can boost the shit out of it! ....and let's keep it real NOTHING sounds a built V8...especially a Japanese V8 that can rev to 7-8k WITH a Procharger and BIG cams....and....and...and...20k later lol...then your transmission... drive lines.... axles....rear end...all end up catastrophically destructing...and 20k MORE later....you gotta MINT truck/car....and then your wife gives you an ultimatum lol... her or the truck!.... and that's when you remember that turning your living room into a machine shop/bar and building race motors and drinkin' with your buddies IS waaaayyyy cooler than gettin' bitched at and budgeted by my tyrant wife!!!! god America F'N dream right there boys!!! Lol I kid...I kid! But I'm definitely kickin' the kid out onto the couch and turning his room into the new powder coating and media blasting room/facility lol!

That looks great! I have my Westcott collar lift already installed and now it's time for the wheels and tires. Any chance you could show/tell me where you trimmed on the wheel well liner? Your trim on the bumper looks great but I'm looking at mine and wondering how best to trim the liner. Thanks!

I’ll make another video showing everything. I don’t think they actually had to trim any of the liner. Just the bumper then the rear under skirt / valence being removed. My inner clearance was fine but the wheels would push against the bumper at lock.

Thanks brother!! I just measured it, from my highest point. Which is the low profile roof rail it was just a hair under 77” tall. As for the snow I’ve read a lot of. Reviews stating the recon grappler doesn’t do great in heavy snow. I would look at the falken wikdpeak or the Yokohama geolander. Lexus likes the Yokohamas so I guess that says something lol.

@@KyleBillington-n7r if you were to have suspension issues the dealership would probably not cover it as the suspension was modified. But if you had issues to something completely unrelated to the suspension then your warranty would cover it.

Sorry but putting that cheap Westcott Designs Preload collar lift is a good way to ruin the ride quality of your GX. Why put a cheap lift on a 72k vehicle? Do it right and go for Kings with a custom length rear shock to keep your down travel. Maybe have a conversation with Ben over at Filthy Motorsports in Boulder, CO. about how to maintain optimal performance on your rig while lifting it and adding bigger tires.

Why the hell would I spend Kings money just for a slight lift to clear larger tires? I guess you also missed the part where I mentioned this hardly changed the ride at all of the GX. Maybe try watching the video before clicking and running straight into the comments to share your $.02. Maybe actually have some first hand experience on the product as well. I’ve ran multiple of these collar kits on different rigs, when you have live valves or a good stock suspension these are the best option to just gain slight lift for clearance.
