Banana bread is one of my faves! It’s a comforting taste to me. The flowers collection is one I’ve been eyeing as well. I like that she’s a florist because I’ve been doing that this past year. Learning and trying at least. Yes, the Nature of Birds because 1975! Oh my, cracking me up…daughter of the King and I better act like it. 😂 I liked the Charles Martin book, but not as much as the one with the red cover. It to what you said about your concerns. There were a couple doctrinal things I don’t jive with. Overall liked it though.

For royal prompt, first, I love your thought: I'm a daughter of the King and I should act like ir.... But you say a bit, "Next WE have..." as you pull up books.... sounds lime a 'Royal We' to me! But the title works too!❤

I cannot even imagine pre-picking my books for this challenge - the thought has never even occurred to me! And every fiber in my body resists at such planning ahead. 😂😂 But I loved hearing about your picks. Snort!. You crack me up. Going that route, I think. At least for my shelf. I'm planning to read the "other pick" (now that one feels like the red-headed step-child) as well but the shelf just doesn't have room for all, and 15 books looks weird on a shelf designed for 12 books!

I'm doing the 2025 challenge too but I haven't picked them out as I never want to pre-pick and then change my mind (although there's nothing wrong with that, I know!). I am also taking part in her L M Montgomery yearly challenge too! 😊

YAY! I kind of am surprised at how much I LOVE to prepick them. I totally get frustrated by being hemmed in by things usually. BUT... when I get to choose it myself, it becomes like Christmas and I look forward to it.

What do you think about the other books in The Secret of the Rose series?

I loved the whole series, but honestly, Dawn of Liberty made the biggest impact. It's not my favorite book but HUGE impact. That scene where Dieder Palacki addresses the missions conference... Wow. "your razzle dazzle Christianity..." Amazing. People who don't like books without a lot of romance won't love these as much. The romance threads are STRONG but minimal, too.

@@ChautonaHavig I’m encouraged. Thanks! I’m still on the first one. Bonhoeffer and students are hiding at the von Dortmans. I like the faith content. But romance from the covers intrigues me, too. By the by, I bought Brought to Book. Can’t wait to read it. Finally, a Christian who writes mysteries. Double blessing. Great video! 👏🏻
