Keep the faith guys. Not so long ago I was crippled by Anxiety. Today I am back to the old me and its all just a bad memory. The key is understanding what's happening and learning to give up the fighting and worrying, but above all losing your fear. Dennis's videos give you all the tools. The guy knows his subject for sure. Much love to you all.

Yeah hi! I'm also 17 and I've been having this health anxiety pretty much all my life, only recently it has gotten worse. It started with some eye symptoms (the doctors didnt find anything wrong with me) and the symptoms have escalated to tremors, chest pains, headaches, migraines with auras, feeling lightheaded, etc. It's a real struggle, but I want to believe that we'll get through it!

Last year I suffered a panic attack on an Uber and since then my life was a nightmare. I went to therapy, I took medication, did meditation, yoga, aromatherapy and it took me almost 10 months to feel ok again. But sadly it came back as anticipatory anxiety and again my life feels like a nightmare. I found this video and the last tip you mention was like a painkiller to my suffering. I closed my eyes and changed the story of my previous worst moments of anxiety and it helped me a lot!!!! Thank you Deniss for helping us understand and handle our fears.

Nausea, knot in my stomach, and derealization are the most debilitating for me, in that order. This also reflects the severity of my anxiety in the moment. Indigestion is a daily occurrence for me, which can turn to nausea if I'm anxious enough. Then I'll begin to notice knots or churning in the pit of my stomach as I go about my normal activities, eventually leading to a panic attack if I'm not careful with my thoughts. All of my panic attacks come with derealization, where I begin to lose my grip on what's real around me, making it so much harder to calm down because it feels so dangerous to be in that state. It took me learning that I had to sit with, feel, and accept the feelings of dread in my body before I found any real relief and soon stopped experiencing panic attacks and derealization to that degree. The difference is monumental from the days when I was having panic attacks every week or two and would wake up before sunrise needing to throw up for no reason and spend the day with constant dread in my stomach. I still have anxiety and indigestion that I now treat holistically, aside from the occasional antacid. I will say that I went on an SSRI for almost a year when I was having these episodes regularly, which didn't solve the issue for me but helped me feel in control enough to work through it myself. Now, I'm off all meds and can experience the same thoughts or sensations that used to devolve into panic and ease them out of my body using mindfulness and breathing exercises. I haven't dissociated in 2 years and I'm still working to improve every day so that I don't have those terrifying experiences in the future.

Now I'm constantly scared, I feel everything, I'm nervous, hyperaware, go to bed nervous, wake up nervous, can't sleep more than 5 hours, if that. I'm tired. I hate that doctors tell me I'm healthy because I know that I'm not, at least not mentally and emotionally right now.

This video is so powerful for me, thank you Dennis. I just recently realized that when one sensation passed for me, a new one comes about. Example, for a while I always felt a foggy head, heart palpitations, sweating and fatigue. With time most of those have passed, but now I get head tension/ringing in ears and stomach discomfort. I paid no attention to head tension but the stomach discomfort is new to me. Last night it felt like my stomach was on fire and my mind was telling me “go to the hospital now!”, I laid in bed thinking “maybe this is some sort of gastric issue”. But now, I convinced myself that this is only a trick. Because moments ago I felt fine with slight stomach discomfort and conveniently everything intensified moment I got to bed. I fell asleep and as I’m writing this at the park, I feel good. Slight discomfort in my head but fine. It’s truly amazing how the mind works and how it tries so hard to pull you back

thank you my friend, im 40 and for the first time im experiencing severe anxiety depression and panics, ive been dizzy with head pressure for over a week. ive been to the doctors twice in a week and went to emergency room and got 2 cat scan blood test ekgs and even a had my prostate checked. Everything came negative and perfect health condition but then WHY my headaches and dizziness, pressure, my chest hurts my hands get numb my nose gets congested without mucus. I feel like i cant escape this, wanting to get back to normal, im afraid to sleep cause i feel like im never gonna wake up again. my body hurts, i cry and cry and cry. im tired and I Pray to God to not take me yet cause i have 2 little girls i need to be there for them. I worry my wife and then she gets anxious. I always tought it was a mental thing but never new it came with body pains. But i went to the root of cause and got a piece of mind but i still feel my aches and desperation but i know is part of the conditions so instead of panicking about it i just accept take deep breaths talk to God and then i calm down. stop being afraid of yourself and youll eventually would get better. love you guys and remember, your not alone. God bless and pray a lot. it helps just have faith

This video really got to me, because it's so relatable. I've been suffering with GAD for 3 years and it's just about ruined my life. it all started from discovering I had a heart murmur. I suddenly stopped doing everything I had been doing all my life, which was basically being active and enjoying myself. It got so bad that I started to worry about walking up stairs just to go to the bathroom or my bedroom, because I I was scared to raise my heart rate. A couple of years later I lost my girlfriend, who had been so patient with me and my rock up until that point, as she could see that I just wasn't willing to help myself even when I was pushing help away from other sources. She explained she had goals in life and knew that she couldn't achieve them with me, no matter how much she loved and cared about me. I don't blame her one bit for eventually walking away, but obviously it hurt like hell. Now I'm just convinced I have so many illnesses because of my physical symptoms. I've diagnosed myself with everything from Celiac Disease and SIBO to ALS and having a brain tumour. Can chronic anxiety and stress really cause so many symptoms throughout your body?

Craig Baker Well I try to calm myself down by watching videos about anxiety and panic attacks. I also have metoprolol for heart palpitations and I use it if I reallt need to. I talk to my friends or family about it and talking really helps me calm down most of the time. I'm now on a waiting list for therapy with a psychiatrist so hopefully that will help me. Do or did you have any professional help as Well?

I've been dealing with anxiety/panic disorder since I've been 17 (I'm 30 now). I was able to get it in check, up until 4 years ago. My most debilitating symptoms here recently are heart palpitations (so much so it keeps me housebound anymore. anytime I try and leave my adrenaline releases like crazy.), breathing difficulty/shortness of breath (it feels like my nose is plugged up all the time), and lastly that I don't eat when I'm feeling stressed. So my anxiety has basically caused me to become anorexic, which is horrible in itself, since it makes my body that much weaker. I feel sick to my stomach when I try to force anything down. I try to stay strong and fight through the horrible attacks, but once one subsides it's like another one takes over. My body is like on constant alert. All this over the years has caused me to become depressed, and just physically worn out. Watching this video, as well as reading the majority of these comments though, gives me peace of mind that I'm not alone, and there is a light at the end of this dark tunnel if I don't give up.♡

Hang in there and try to eat. I've had anxiety where I couldn't eat and lost 15lbs in 3 months. I would eat a waffle with butter and syrup, an egg... then throughout the day, I would drink smoothies, green drinks, carrot and beer juice,yogurt with almonds, bananas and spoonfuls of almond or peanut butter. Soup. That's it. I forced myself. And if I weighed myself, I freaked out even more. I'm now eating again but still have insane light headedness.

My uncle passed away from this disease and my subconscious is showing me images of myself living with a trach for the rest of my life. My breathing feels like the air outside is the same temperature as my body so I can’t feel the air going in and out. Wow, around the 6:50 mark I had to stop it to process this. You are speaking my anxiety launguage Dennis. I only wish I knew you personally so you could help me through my day. I wake up and the tightening in the chest starts immediately and then the bad thoughts of what if this happens and that, or I can't face this today maybe tomorrow. Then the shaking in the body and the nervousness then the dreaded oh I'm running out of time at home. Oh it's torture. Pure hell for sure. I always get that 'doomed' sensation through my body that says, you gotta face it and it's like please God just get me through this. It could be something small like driving to work or going to get gas in my car...or dating. You know, regular things people don't stress about! I should really start diving more into your videos. Alright, I'm going to play the rest of it, lol. Whew.

im in the middle of FULL body numbness and tingling (for 4 days straight now), as well as not being able to sleep due to 'shock waves' and chills that i experience the moment i begin to drift off. it just continues over and over again and no matter how much i focus on breathing, it persists. The only way i can sleep is by NOT sleeping for so long, that i become so exhausted that i pass out despite those feelings. I have been unemployed for quite some time due to social anxiety... i cannot get passed job interviews because of it. I reckon that is the root cause of my debilitating symptoms.

The only symptoms I get are feeling like I have to keep taking deep breaths, noticing my breathing, especially when alone, and feeling afraid. I also have a tic where I will scrunch my nose when I think about it, or blink my eyes tight. I worry about having a stroke because I’m older and my parents died that way, and I worry that something will happen to my children or grandchildren. Is this what’s called “general anxiety”? For the past 6 months I’ve also been tapering slowly from an antidepressant I have been on for 15 years. Will your therapy help me or do I need to do something different. I can’t enjoy life always feeling this way and I know that stress is bad for me. Thank you.
@qso35665 жыл бұрын
Mary Kane: I know what you mean about breathing. And I know what you mean about being older, alone, and afraid. I have a long history of anxiety and managed it well for a long time, even after my husband passed away 9 years ago. But in the past few months, my anxiety has increased to the point where I worry about everything 24/7, including all kinds of horrible illnesses. The worst symptom is hyperventilation and even when I do breathing exercises - which help - I still obsess about health and breathing, so it's a cycle. I will be able to take a deep breath and think it's ok, then I can't take a deep breath which creates more panic. I believe for me, at least part of it, is the fact that I am alone.

I had never even thought about the 5 senses being partially responsible for getting rid of anxiety, but now that I think about it, it’s right. When I eat something, my mind begins to drift from anxiety, when I sit in classes, I focus on what the professor is saying, when I call my mom and listen to her talk, even if it’s about anxiety, I’m focused on what she’s saying. Your panic attacks are YOU being afraid of the way YOU feel. They represent the conflict of YOU being afraid of YOU. If u didnt fear the way YOU feel then you would have no more panic attacks. In a nutshell ...dennis is this correct?
